2020-07-27arc: switch to ->regset_get()Al Viro
NB: it used to do short store; fix is needed earlier in the series. Signed-off-by: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>
2020-04-12arc: ptrace: hard-code "arc" instead of UTS_MACHINEMasahiro Yamada
ARC uses the UTS_MACHINE defined in the top Makefile as follows: UTS_MACHINE := $(ARCH) We know it is "arc" when we are building the kernel for ARC. Hard-code user_regset_view::name, like many other architectures do. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com>

2017-03-02sched/headers: Prepare for new header dependencies before moving code to ↵Ingo Molnar
<linux/sched/task_stack.h> We are going to split <linux/sched/task_stack.h> out of <linux/sched.h>, which will have to be picked up from other headers and a couple of .c files. Create a trivial placeholder <linux/sched/task_stack.h> file that just maps to <linux/sched.h> to make this patch obviously correct and bisectable. Include the new header in the files that are going to need it. 2015-06-22ARCv2: Support for ARCv2 ISA and HS38x coresVineet Gupta
The notable features are: - SMP configurations of upto 4 cores with coherency - Optional L2 Cache and IO-Coherency - Revised Interrupt Architecture (multiple priorites, reg banks, auto stack switch, auto regfile save/restore) - MMUv4 (PIPT dcache, Huge Pages) - Instructions for * 64bit load/store: LDD, STD * Hardware assisted divide/remainder: DIV, REM * Function prologue/epilogue: ENTER_S, LEAVE_S * IRQ enable/disable: CLRI, SETI * pop count: FFS, FLS * SETcc, BMSKN, XBFU... 2015-06-19ARC: Make way for pt_regs != user_regs_structVineet Gupta
These have been register compatible so far. However ARCv2 mandates different pt_regs layout (due to h/w auto save). To keep pt_regs same for both, we start by removing the assumption - used mainly for block copies between the 2 structs in signal handling and ptrace Signed-off-by: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com>
2014-06-26ARC: Implement ptrace(PTRACE_GET_THREAD_AREA)Anton Kolesov
This patch adds implementation of GET_THREAD_AREA ptrace request type. This is required by GDB to debug NPTL applications. Signed-off-by: Anton Kolesov <Anton.Kolesov@synopsys.com> Signed-off-by: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com>
2013-10-12ARC: Ignore ptrace SETREGSET request for synthetic register "stop_pc"Vineet Gupta
ARCompact TRAP_S insn used for breakpoints, commits before exception is taken (updating architectural PC). So ptregs->ret contains next-PC and not the breakpoint PC itself. This is different from other restartable exceptions such as TLB Miss where ptregs->ret has exact faulting PC. gdb needs to know exact-PC hence ARC ptrace GETREGSET provides for @stop_pc which returns ptregs->ret vs. EFA depending on the situation. However, writing stop_pc (SETREGSET request), which updates ptregs->ret doesn't makes sense stop_pc doesn't always correspond to that reg as described above. This was not an issue so far since user_regs->ret / user_regs->stop_pc had same value and both writing to ptregs->ret was OK, needless, but NOT broken, hence not observed. With gdb "jump", they diverge, and user_regs->ret updating ptregs is overwritten immediately with stop_pc, which this patch fixes. 2013-06-22ARC: pt_regs update #3: Remove unused gutter at start of callee_regsVineet Gupta
This is trickier than prev two: * context switching code saves kernel mode callee regs in the format of struct callee_regs thus needs adjustment. This also reduces the height of topmost kernel stack frame by 1 word. * Since kernel stack unwinder is sensitive to height of topmost kernel stack frame, that needs a word of adjustment too. ptrace needs a bit of updating since pt_regs now diverges from user_regs_struct.
