2022-08-29ARM: configs: replace CONFIG_NO_HZ=y with CONFIG_NO_HZ_IDLE=yStefan Hansson
According to https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/timers/no_hz.html, CONFIG_NO_HZ=y should be replaced by CONFIG_NO_HZ_IDLE=y for newer kernels, so let's reflect that in the 32-bit ARM defconfigs. A lot of Kconfig options have changed over the years, and we tend to not do a blind 'make defconfig' to refresh the files, to ensure we catch options that should not have gone away. I used some a bit of scripting to only rework the bits where an option moved around in any of the defconfig files, without also dropping any of the other lines, to make it clearer which options we no longer have. 2017-01-02ARM: sunxi: Add CONFIG_THERMAL_OFQuentin Schulz
This enables CONFIG_THERMAL_OF by default for sunxi_defconfig. It is required to get Allwinner SoCs' temperature from the GPADC driver. The Allwinner SoCs all have an ADC that can also act as a touchscreen controller and a thermal sensor. The first four channels can be used either for the ADC or the touchscreen and the fifth channel is used for the thermal sensor. The thermal sensor requires the IP to be in touchscreen mode to return correct values. Therefore, if the user is continuously reading the ADC channel(s), the thermal framework in which the thermal sensor is registered will switch the IP in touchscreen mode to get a temperature value and requires a delay of 100ms (because of the mode switching), then the ADC will switch back to ADC mode and requires also a delay of 100ms. If the ADC readings are critical to user and the SoC temperature is not, the GPADC driver is capable of not registering the thermal sensor in the thermal framework and thus, "quicken" the ADC readings. In most use cases, the SoC temperature is more critical (for cpu throttling for example or activating cooling devices) than ADC readings, thus it is now enabled by default. Allwinner SoCs typically have a Mentor Graphics Inventra MUSB dual role controller for USB OTG. Now that the issue with MUSB and USB gadget registration order has been resolved, we can enable this driver in dual role mode. This requires the NOP USB transceiver driver, which is also enabled. 2015-12-31ARM: Fix broken USB support in sunxi_defconfigTimo Sigurdsson
Commit 69fb4dcada77 ("power: Add an axp20x-usb-power driver") introduced a new driver for the USB power supply used on various Allwinner based SBCs. However, the driver was not added to sunxi_defconfig which breaks USB support for some boards (e.g. LeMaker BananaPi) as the kernel will now turn off the USB power supply during boot by default if the driver isn't present. Commit be8becb81bdc ("ARM: sunxi_defconfig: Enable LRADC keys (KEYBOARD_SUN4I_LRADC)") added CONFIG_KEYBOARD_SUN4I_LRADC=y to sunxi_defconfig. However, it depends on CONFIG_KEYBOARD which is explicitly disabled in sunxi_defconfig. Hence, the LRADC keys were never actually enabled. Remove the line disabling CONFIG_KEYBOARD in order to really enable KEYBOARD_SUN4I_LRADC. axp20x support has been split into 2 parts, I2C and RSB interface variants. Update the MFD_AXP20X symbol for I2C support, and also enable MFD_AXP20X_RSB to support RSB variants. Keep MFD_AXP20X enabled for now, to ease migration for automated boot farms while the patches are being merged. This should be removed in the next release. And get rid of POWER_RESET, as the sun6i power reset driver has been removed in favor of proper sun6i watchdog support.
