2016-06-13ARM: vexpress/hotplug: fix missing core.h includeBen Dooks
Fix the missing declaration of vexpress_cpu_die() by including core.h where it is defined. Fixes: arch/arm/mach-vexpress/hotplug.c:88:6: warning: symbol 'vexpress_cpu_die' was not declared. Should it be static? 2015-10-22ARM: Remove __ref on hotplug cpu die pathStephen Boyd
Now that __cpuinit has been removed, the __ref markings on these functions are useless. Remove them. This also reduces the size of the multi_v7_defconfig image: $ size before after text data bss dec hex filename 12683578 1470996 348904 14503478 dd4e36 before 12683274 1470996 348904 14503174 dd4d06 after presumably because now we don't have to jump to code in the .ref.text section and/or the noinline marking is removed. 2013-04-18ARM: cpu hotplug: remove majority of cache flushing from platformsRussell King
Remove the majority of cache flushing calls from the individual platform files. This is now handled by the core code. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2012-09-14ARM: consolidate pen_release instead of having per platform definitionsMarc Zyngier
Almost each SMP platform defines pen_release to manage booting secondary CPUs. This of course clashes with the single zImage effort. Add the pen_release definition to the ARM SMP code, and remove all others. This should only be used by platforms which lack any kind of CPU power management... 2012-03-28ARM: move CP15 definitions to separate header fileRussell King

2012-01-23ARM: 7293/1: logical_cpu_map: decouple CPU mapping from SMPWill Deacon
It turns out that the logical CPU mapping is useful even when !CONFIG_SMP for manipulation of devices like interrupt and power controllers when running a UP kernel on a CPU other than 0. This can happen when kexecing a UP image from an SMP kernel. In the future, multi-cluster systems running AMP configurations will require something similar for mapping cluster IDs, so it makes sense to decouple this logic in preparation for this support. 2011-10-17ARM: versatile: convert logical CPU numbers to physical numbersWill Deacon
This patch uses the new cpu_logical_map() macro for converting logical CPU numbers into physical numbers when dealing with the pen_release variable in the SMP boot and CPU hotplug paths. Signed-off-by: Will Deacon <will.deacon@arm.com>
2011-10-17ARM: 7064/1: vexpress: Use wfi macro in platform_do_lowpower.Nick Bowler
Current Versatile Express CPU hotplug code includes a hardcoded WFI instruction, in ARM encoding. When the kernel is compiled in Thumb-2 mode, this is invalid and causes the machine to hang hard when a CPU is offlined. Using the wfi macro (which uses the appropriate assembler mnemonic) causes the correct instruction to be emitted in either case. As a consequence of this change, an apparently vestigial "cc" clobber is dropped from the asm (the macro uses "memory" only).
