2025-03-20hyperv: Log hypercall status codes as stringsNuno Das Neves
Introduce hv_status_printk() macros as a convenience to log hypercall errors, formatting them with the status code (HV_STATUS_*) as a raw hex value and also as a string, which saves some time while debugging. Create a table of HV_STATUS_ codes with strings and mapped errnos, and use it for hv_result_to_string() and hv_result_to_errno(). Use the new hv_status_printk()s in hv_proc.c, hyperv-iommu.c, and irqdomain.c hypercalls to aid debugging in the root partition. 2025-01-15x86/apic: Convert to IRQCHIP_MOVE_DEFERREDThomas Gleixner
Instead of marking individual interrupts as safe to be migrated in arbitrary contexts, mark the interrupt chips, which require the interrupt to be moved in actual interrupt context, with the new IRQCHIP_MOVE_DEFERRED flag. This makes more sense because this is a per interrupt chip property and not restricted to individual interrupts. That flips the logic from the historical opt-out to a opt-in model. This is simpler to handle for other architectures, which default to unrestricted affinity setting. It also allows to cleanup the redundant core logic significantly. All interrupt chips, which belong to a top-level domain sitting directly on top of the x86 vector domain are marked accordingly, unless the related setup code marks the interrupts with IRQ_MOVE_PCNTXT, i.e. XEN. No functional change intended. 2022-07-07genirq: Return a const cpumask from irq_data_get_affinity_maskSamuel Holland
Now that the irq_data_update_affinity helper exists, enforce its use by returning a a const cpumask from irq_data_get_affinity_mask. Since the previous commit already updated places that needed to call irq_data_update_affinity, this commit updates the remaining code that either did not modify the cpumask or immediately passed the modified mask to irq_set_affinity. 2021-04-21drivers: hv: Create a consistent pattern for checking Hyper-V hypercall statusJoseph Salisbury
There is not a consistent pattern for checking Hyper-V hypercall status. Existing code uses a number of variants. The variants work, but a consistent pattern would improve the readability of the code, and be more conformant to what the Hyper-V TLFS says about hypercall status. Implemented new helper functions hv_result(), hv_result_success(), and hv_repcomp(). Changed the places where hv_do_hypercall() and related variants are used to use the helper functions. 2021-02-11iommu/hyperv: setup an IO-APIC IRQ remapping domain for root partitionWei Liu
Just like MSI/MSI-X, IO-APIC interrupts are remapped by Microsoft Hypervisor when Linux runs as the root partition. Implement an IRQ domain to handle mapping and unmapping of IO-APIC interrupts. 2021-02-11x86/hyperv: implement an MSI domain for root partitionWei Liu
When Linux runs as the root partition on Microsoft Hypervisor, its interrupts are remapped. Linux will need to explicitly map and unmap interrupts for hardware. Implement an MSI domain to issue the correct hypercalls. And initialize this irq domain as the default MSI irq domain.
