2019-05-21treewide: Add SPDX license identifier for missed filesThomas Gleixner
Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which: - Have no license information of any form - Have EXPORT_.*_SYMBOL_GPL inside which was used in the initial scan/conversion to ignore the file These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. The resulting SPDX license identifier is: GPL-2.0-only Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-08-07ACPI: fix acpi_debugfs_init prototypeNicolas Iooss
acpi_debugfs_init function is declared with return type int in drivers/acpi/internal.h when CONFIG_DEBUG_FS is enabled, but its definition in drivers/acpi/debugfs.c has return type void. This is due to commit aecad432fd68 ("ACPI: Cleanup custom_method debug stuff"), which changed the return type from int to void without updating the declaration. Fix this inconsistency by updating acpi_debugfs_init prototype. While at it, include internal.h in debugfs.c so that the compiler can check that the declaration and definition remain compatible. 2013-12-07ACPI: Clean up inclusions of ACPI header filesLv Zheng
Replace direct inclusions of <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and <acpi/acpi_drivers.h>, which are incorrect, with <linux/acpi.h> inclusions and remove some inclusions of those files that aren't necessary. First of all, <acpi/acpi.h>, <acpi/acpi_bus.h> and <acpi/acpi_drivers.h> should not be included directly from any files that are built for CONFIG_ACPI unset, because that generally leads to build warnings about undefined symbols in !CONFIG_ACPI builds. For CONFIG_ACPI set, <linux/acpi.h> includes those files and for CONFIG_ACPI unset it provides stub ACPI symbols to be used in that case. Second, there are ordering dependencies between those files that always have to be met. Namely, it is required that <acpi/acpi_bus.h> be included prior to <acpi/acpi_drivers.h> so that the acpi_pci_root declarations the latter depends on are always there. And <acpi/acpi.h> which provides basic ACPICA type declarations should always be included prior to any other ACPI headers in CONFIG_ACPI builds. That also is taken care of including <linux/acpi.h> as appropriate. 2011-10-31acpi: add export.h to files using THIS_MODULE/EXPORT_SYMBOLPaul Gortmaker
These files were relying on module.h to come in via the path in an include/acpi header file, but we don't want to have instances of module.h being included from include/* files if it can be avoided. Have the files include export.h instead. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>
2011-05-29ACPI: Split out custom_method functionality into an own driverThomas Renninger
With /sys/kernel/debug/acpi/custom_method root can write to arbitrary memory and increase his priveleges, even if these are restricted. -> Make this an own debug .config option and warn about the security issue in the config description. -> Still keep acpi/debugfs.c which now only creates an empty /sys/kernel/debug/acpi directory. There might be other users of it later. Signed-off-by: Thomas Renninger <trenn@suse.de> Acked-by: Rafael J. 2011-05-29ACPI: Cleanup custom_method debug stuffThomas Renninger
- Move param aml_debug_output to other params into sysfs.c - Split acpi_debugfs_init to prepare custom_method to be an own .config option and driver. 2011-02-24ACPI / debugfs: Fix buffer overflows, double freeVasiliy Kulikov
File position is not controlled, it may lead to overwrites of arbitrary kernel memory. Also the code may kfree() the same pointer multiple times. One more flaw is still present: if multiple processes open the file then all 3 static variables are shared, leading to various race conditions. They should be moved to file->private_data. 2010-11-13ACPI: debugfs custom_method open to non-rootDave Jones
Currently we have: --w--w--w-. 1 root root 0 2010-11-11 14:56 /sys/kernel/debug/acpi/custom_method which is just crazy. Change this to --w-------. 2010-10-15llseek: automatically add .llseek fopArnd Bergmann
All file_operations should get a .llseek operation so we can make nonseekable_open the default for future file operations without a .llseek pointer. The three cases that we can automatically detect are no_llseek, seq_lseek and default_llseek. For cases where we can we can automatically prove that the file offset is always ignored, we use noop_llseek, which maintains the current behavior of not returning an error from a seek. New drivers should normally not use noop_llseek but instead use no_llseek and call nonseekable_open at open time. Existing drivers can be converted to do the same when the maintainer knows for certain that no user code relies on calling seek on the device file. The generated code is often incorrectly indented and right now contains comments that clarify for each added line why a specific variant was chosen. In the version that gets submitted upstream, the comments will be gone and I will manually fix the indentation, because there does not seem to be a way to do that using coccinelle. Some amount of new code is currently sitting in linux-next that should get the same modifications, which I will do at the end of the merge window. Many thanks to Julia Lawall for helping me learn to write a semantic patch that does all this. ===== begin semantic patch ===== // This adds an llseek= method to all file operations, // as a preparation for making no_llseek the default. // // The rules are // - use no_llseek explicitly if we do nonseekable_open // - use seq_lseek for sequential files // - use default_llseek if we know we access f_pos // - use noop_llseek if we know we don't access f_pos, // but we still want to allow users to call lseek // @ open1 exists @ identifier nested_open; @@ nested_open(...) { <+... nonseekable_open(...) ...+> } @ open exists@ identifier open_f; identifier i, f; identifier open1.nested_open; @@ int open_f(struct inode *i, struct file *f) { <+... 2010-08-14ACPI: introduce module parameter acpi.aml_debug_outputZhang Rui
Introduce module parameter acpi.aml_debug_output. With acpi.aml_debug_output set, we can get AML debug object output (Store (AAA, Debug)), even with CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG cleared. Together with the runtime custom method mechanism, we can debug AML code problems without rebuilding the kernel. 2010-08-14ACPI: introduce drivers/acpi/debugfs.cZhang Rui
Introduce drivers/acpi/debugfs.c. Code for ACPI debugfs I/F, i.e. /sys/kernel/debug/acpi/custom_method, is moved to this file. And make ACPI debugfs always built in, even if CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG is cleared. BTW:this adds about 400bytes code to ACPI, when CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG is cleared.
