2017-04-07clocksource: Add missing line break to error messagesRafał Miłecki
Printing with pr_* functions requires adding line break manually. Signed-off-by: Rafał Miłecki <rafal@milecki.pl> Acked-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Lezcano <daniel.lezcano@linaro.org>
2016-08-17clocksource/drivers/kona: Fix get_counter() error handlingArnd Bergmann
I could not figure out why, but GCC cannot prove that the kona_timer_init() function always initializes its two outputs, and we get a warning for the use of the 'lsw' variable later, which is obviously correct. drivers/clocksource/bcm_kona_timer.c: In function 'kona_timer_init': drivers/clocksource/bcm_kona_timer.c:119:13: error: 'lsw' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] Slightly reordering the loop makes the warning disappear, after it becomes more obvious to the compiler that the loop is always entered on the first iteration. As pointed out by Ray Jui, there is a related problem in the way we deal with the loop running into the limit, as we just keep going there with an invalid counter data, so instead we now propagate a -ETIMEDOUT result to the caller. 2016-06-28clocksources: Switch back to the clksrc tableDaniel Lezcano
All the clocksource drivers's init function are now converted to return an error code. CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE is no longer used as well as the clksrc-of table. Let's convert back the names: - CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE_RET => CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE - clksrc-of-ret => clksrc-of Signed-off-by: Daniel Lezcano <daniel.lezcano@linaro.org> For exynos_mct and samsung_pwm_timer: Acked-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <k.kozlowski@samsung.com> For arch/arc: Acked-by: Vineet Gupta <vgupta@synopsys.com> For mediatek driver: Acked-by: Matthias Brugger <matthias.bgg@gmail.com> For the Rockchip-part Acked-by: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de> For STi : Acked-by: Patrice Chotard <patrice.chotard@st.com> For the mps2-timer.c and versatile.c changes: Acked-by: Liviu Dudau <Liviu.Dudau@arm.com> For the OXNAS part : Acked-by: Neil Armstrong <narmstrong@baylibre.com> For LPC32xx driver: Acked-by: Sylvain Lemieux <slemieux.tyco@gmail.com> For Broadcom Kona timer change: Acked-by: Ray Jui <ray.jui@broadcom.com> For Sun4i and Sun5i: Acked-by: Chen-Yu Tsai <wens@csie.org> For Meson6: Acked-by: Carlo Caione <carlo@caione.org> For Keystone: Acked-by: Santosh Shilimkar <ssantosh@kernel.org> For NPS: Acked-by: Noam Camus <noamca@mellanox.com> For bcm2835: Acked-by: Eric Anholt <eric@anholt.net>
2016-06-28clocksource/drivers/bcm_kona: Convert init function to return errorDaniel Lezcano
The init functions do not return any error. They behave as the following: - panic, thus leading to a kernel crash while another timer may work and make the system boot up correctly or - print an error and let the caller unaware if the state of the system Change that by converting the init functions to return an error conforming to the CLOCKSOURCE_OF_RET prototype. Proper error handling (rollback, errno value) will be changed later case by case, thus this change just return back an error or success in the init function. 2015-08-06clockevents/drivers/bcm_kona: Migrate to new 'set-state' interfaceViresh Kumar
Migrate bcm_kona driver to the new 'set-state' interface provided by the clockevents core, the earlier 'set-mode' interface is marked obsolete now. This also enables us to implement callbacks for new states of clockevent devices, for example: ONESHOT_STOPPED. Oneshot callback isn't required as it was empty. 2015-01-05clocksource: kona: fix __iomem annotationOlof Johansson
It makes no sense to hide the __iomem annotation from the function that uses it, especially since it causes a sparse warning: drivers/clocksource/bcm_kona_timer.c:118:38: warning: incorrect type in argument 1 (different address spaces) drivers/clocksource/bcm_kona_timer.c:118:38: expected void *timer_base drivers/clocksource/bcm_kona_timer.c:118:38: got void [noderef] <asn:2>*static [toplevel] tmr_regs Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net> Acked-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Lezcano <daniel.lezcano@linaro.org>
2014-02-06clocksource: Kona: Print warning rather than panicTim Kryger
Since there may be other clocksources available, this driver should not trigger a panic simply because it can not determine the frequency of an external clock. This change refactors the driver to allow a warning to be printed in this case instead. 2013-08-20ARM: DT: binding fixup to align with vendor-prefixes.txt (drivers)Christian Daudt
[ this is a follow-up to this discussion: http://archive.arm.linux.org.uk/lurker/message/20130730.230827.a1ceb12a.en.html ] This patchset renames all uses of "bcm," name bindings to "brcm," as they were done prior to knowing that brcm had already been standardized as Broadcom vendor prefix (in Documentation/devicetree/bindings/vendor-prefixes.txt). This will not cause any churn on devices because none of these bindings have made it into production yet. 2013-06-19clocksource: kona: adapt to CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE changeArnd Bergmann
The CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE functions now take a device_node pointer as their argument, as of the clksrc/cleanup branch in arm-soc. This patch adapts the bcm_kona_timer driver to the new interface. 2013-03-28ARM: bcm281xx: Add timer driver (driver portion)Christian Daudt
This adds support for the Broadcom timer, used in the following SoCs: BCM11130, BCM11140, BCM11351, BCM28145, BCM28155 Updates from V6: - Split DT portion into a separate patch Updates from V5: - Rebase to latest arm-soc/for-next Updates from V4: - Switch code to use CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE Updates from V3: - Migrate to 3.9 timer framework updates Updates from V2: - prepend static fns + fields with kona_ Updates from V1: - Rename bcm_timer.c to bcm_kona_timer.c - Pull .h into bcm_kona_timer.c - Make timers static - Clean up comment block - Switched to using clockevents_config_and_register - Added an error to the get_timer loop if it repeats too much - Added to Documentation/devicetree/bindings/arm/bcm/bcm,kona-timer.txt - Added missing readl to timer_disable_and_clear Note: bcm,kona-timer was kept as the 'compatible' field to make it specific enough for when there are multiple bcm timers (bcm, timer is too generic).
