acquire_free_pipe_as_sec_dpp_pipe
[why]
Secondary DPP pipes are used for rendering secondary layers of planes.
The name "for layer" doesn't make it obvious. The function is acquiring
a free pipe as secondary dpp pipe only. We rename it so it is more obvious.
In a future follow up change, we want to add functions to acquire free pipe as
opp head pipe or otg master pipe as well. They will have their separate
allocation priority.

In some instances, the GPU is transmitting repeated frame to the sink
without any updates or changes in the content. These repeat transmission
are wasteful, resulting in power draw in different aspects of the system
1. DCN is fetching the frame of data from DF/UMC/DRAM. This memory traffic
prevents power down of parts of this HW path.
2. GPU is transmitting pixel data to the display through the main link of
the DisplayPort interface. This prevents power down of both the Source
transmitter (TX) and the Sink receiver (RX)
The concepts of utilizing replay is similar to PSR, but there is a benefit of:
Source and Sink remaining synchronized which allows for
- lower latency when switching from replay to live frames
- enable the possibility of more use cases
- easy control of the sink's refresh rate during replay
Due to Source and Sink remaining timing synchronized, Replay can be activated
in more UI scenarios.

[Why]
Current recout calculation has a few assumptions and implementation
for MPO + ODM combine calculation is very specific. The equation has
too many cases without enough comments to document the detail.
[How]
The change remove the following assumptions:
1. When MPO is enabled, we only allow ODM Combine 2:1
2. ODM Combine always has even segment width.
3. Secondary MPO plane's pipe_ctx copies pre_odm_pipe from
its top pipe.
The change applies a generic formula with more details in comment to
document this solution so it is eaiser to learn and debug later.

[Why & How]
All dc subcomponents should call another dc component via function pointers
stored in a component structure. This is part of dc coding convention since
the beginning. The reason behind this is to improve encapsulation and
polymorphism. The function contract is extracted into a single link service
structure defined in link.h header file and implemented only in link_factory.c instead
of spreading across multiple files in link component file structure.

The fields blends_with_above and blends_with_below of struct
dc_plane_cap (defined in dc/dc.h) are boolean and set to true by
default. All instances of a dc_plane_cap maintain the default values of
both. Also, there is only one if statement that checks those fields and
there would be the same effect if it was deleted (assuming that those
fields are always going to be true).
For this reason, considering both fields as legacy ones, this commit
removes them and the aforementioned if statement.

This is a very trivial code clean-up related to commit 5468c36d6285
("drm/amd/display: Filter Invalid 420 Modes for HDMI TMDS"). This commit
added a validation on driver probe to prevent invalid TMDS modes, but one
of the fake properties (swizzle) ended-up causing a warning on driver
probe; was reported here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2264.
It was fixed by commit a1cbe6916f44 ("drm/amd/display: patch cases with
unknown plane state to prevent warning"), but the validation code had
a double variable assignment, which we hereby remove. Also, the fix relies
in the dcn2{0,1}patch_unknown_plane_state() callbacks, so while at it we
took the opportunity to perform a small code clean-up in such routines.

[Why]
A hack was used to access DWB register due to difference in the register
naming convention which was not compatible with existing SR/SRI* macros.
The additional macro needed were added to dwb ip specific header file
(dcnxx_dwb.h) instead of soc resource file (dcnxx_resource.c). Due to
this pattern, BASE macro had to be redefined in dcnxx_dwb.h, which in
turn needed us to undefine them in the resource file.
[How]
Add a separate macro for DWB access to the resource files that need it
instead of defining them in DWB ip header file. This will enable us to
reuse the BASE macro defined in the resource file.

[why]
Original change 594b237b9a07 ("drm/amd/display: Add
interface to track PHY state") was implemented by assuming stream's
dpms off is equivalent to PHY power off.
This assumption doesn't hold in following situations:
1. MST multiple stream scenario, where multiple streams are sharing the
same PHY output. Toggle dpms off for one of the stream doesn't power
off the PHY due to the presence of other streams.
2. enable stream failure scenario, where enable stream fails due to
failure of link training. This will cause DPMS off is set to false, while
the actual PHY power state is off in certain cases.
Due to the problematic assumption, the logic will skip disabling
other streams for MST multiple stream scenario, therefore PHY is
not actually powered off.
[how]
1. Rework this refactor by moving PHY state update down to hardware
level, where we update PHY state in place when hardware sequencer
is actually changing the power state of the PHY hardware.
2. Reimplement symclk on TX off workaround in place when we are actually
calling transmitter control to power off PHY in dcn32. Note the workaround is
added due to the lack of proper software interface to set TX while keeping
symclk on. We plan to address this interface problem so we can set TX off
only without affecting symclk in future dcn versions.

dml/dcn20_fpu file centralizes all DCN2x functions that require FPU access.
Therefore, this patch moves FPU-related code from dcn21 to dcn20_fpu. These
include:
- dcn21_populate_dml_pipes_from_context()
- dcn21_validate_bandwidth_fp() and related:
- dcn21_calculate_wm(),
- patch_bounding_box(),
- calculate_wm_set_for_vlevel()
- renaming update_bw_bounding_box() to dcn21_update_bw_bounding_box(), move
to dcn20_fpu with related static function construct_low_pstate_lvl()
Also, make dcn21_fast_validate_bw() public in dcn21_resource as it is called
by dcn21_validate_bandwidth_fp() now in dcn20_fpu.
Reuse dcn20_fpu_adjust_dppclk() in dcn21_fast_validate_bw() as it isolates
the same FPU operation.

Move parts of dcn20 code that uses FPU to dml folder. It aims to isolate
FPU operations as described by series:
drm/amd/display: Introduce FPU directory inside DC
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/93042/
This patch moves the following functions from dcn20_resource to
dml/dcn20_fpu and calls of public functions in dcn20_resource are
wrapped by DC_FP_START/END():
- void dcn20_populate_dml_writeback_from_context
- static bool is_dtbclk_required()
- static enum dcn_zstate_support_state()
- void dcn20_calculate_dlg_params()
- static void swizzle_to_dml_params()
- int dcn20_populate_dml_pipes_from_context()
- void dcn20_calculate_wm()
- void dcn20_cap_soc_clocks()
- void dcn20_update_bounding_box()
- void dcn20_patch_bounding_box()
- bool dcn20_validate_bandwidth_fp()
This movement also affects dcn21/30/31, as dcn20_calculate_dlg_params()
is used by them. For this reason, I included dcn20_fpu headers in
dcn20_resource headers to make dcn20_calculate_dlg_params() visible to
dcn21/30/31.
Three new functions are created to isolate well-delimited FPU
operations:
- void dcn20_fpu_set_wb_arb_params(): set cli_watermark,
pstate_watermark and time_per_pixel from wb_arb_params (struct
mcif_arb_params), since those uses FPU operations on double types:
WritebackUrgentWatermark, WritebackDRAMClockChangeWatermark, '16.0'.
- void dcn20_fpu_set_wm_ranges(): set min_fill_clk_mhz and
max_fill_clk_mhz involves FPU calcs on dram_speed_mts (double type);
- void dcn20_fpu_adjust_dppclk(): adjust operation on RequiredDPPCLK
that is a double.

The display core files rely on FPU, which requires to be compiled with
special flags. Ideally, we don't want these FPU operations spread around
the DC code; nevertheless, it happens in the current source. This commit
introduces a new directory inside DML for centralizing shared DCN
functions that require FPU and have been used outside DML. For
illustrating this process of transferring FPU functions to the DML
folder, this commit moves one of the functions
dcn20_populate_dml_writeback_from_context) that require FPU access to a
single shared file. Notice that this is the first part of the work, and
it does not fix the FPU issue yet; we still need other patches for
achieving the complete FPU isolation.
Changes since V3:
- Jun: Instead of creating a new directory to keep the FPU code, let's
make the DML folder the only part that requires FPU access. Drop
fpu_operation folder.
- Christian: Fix function code style.
Changes since V2:
- Christian: Remove unnecessary wrapper.
- lkp: Add missing prototype.
- Only compile the FPU operations if the DCN option is enabled.
Change since V1:
- Update documentation and rebase.

[Why + How]
Visual confirm has no asic-specific logic,
so we can refactor and unify these functions
that are currently spread out across multiple
dcn files.
Add a new hw sequencer interface update_visual_confirm_color,
and a new mpc function pointer set_bg_color.
This will allow visual confirm to updated independently
of MPCC blending updates.

This reverts commit 3ca402375a2197579d1029e7fa9d856847fe0e7b.
Recent visual confirm changes are regressing the driver, causing a
black screen on boot in some green sardine configs, or visual confirm
is not updated at all.

[Why]
Visual confirm will indicate if driver is programming
the surface address.
Refactor is required because much of the visual confirm
logic is buried deep in the mpcc files.
In addition, visual confirm is not updated during fast updates.
[How]
In order to have visual confirm for driver flips, visual confirm
needs to be updated on every frame, including fast updates.
Add a new hw sequencer interface update_visual_confirm_color,
and a new mpc function pointer set_bg_color.

[Why]
Currently, the code that fills the clock table can miss filling
information about some of the higher voltage states advertised
by the SMU. This, in turn, may cause some of the higher pixel clock
modes (e.g. 8k60) to fail validation.
[How]
Fill the table with one entry per DCFCLK level instead of one entry
per FCLK level. This is needed because the maximum FCLK does not
necessarily need maximum voltage, whereas DCFCLK values from SMU
cover the full voltage range.

Currently to view the DCC_EN bit the entire DTN log
must be dumped. A compact method to view the DCC_EN
bit is desirable.
[how]
Introduce new debugfs interface that only dumps the
DCC_EN bit.
Example usage:
cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/amdgpu_dm_dcc_en
