2023-12-04drm/bridge: implement generic DP HPD bridgeDmitry Baryshkov

2023-12-04drm/bridge: add transparent bridge helperDmitry Baryshkov
Define a helper for creating simple transparent bridges which serve the only purpose of linking devices into the bridge chain up to the last bridge representing the connector. This is especially useful for DP/USB-C bridge chains, which can span across several devices, but do not require any additional functionality from the intermediate bridges. 2023-03-28drm: bridge: Generalize Exynos-DSI driver into a Samsung DSIM bridgeJagan Teki
Samsung MIPI DSIM controller is common DSI IP that can be used in various SoCs like Exynos, i.MX8M Mini/Nano. In order to access this DSI controller between various platform SoCs, the ideal way to incorporate this in the drm stack is via the drm bridge driver. We already have a consolidated code for supporting component and bridge based DRM drivers, so keep the exynos component based code in existing exynos_drm_dsi.c and move generic bridge code as part of samsung-dsim.c Tested-by: Marek Szyprowski <m.szyprowski@samsung.com> Reviewed-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de> Signed-off-by: Marek Szyprowski <m.szyprowski@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Jagan Teki <jagan@amarulasolutions.com> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>

2022-06-20drm/bridge: imx: Add i.MX8qm/qxp pixel combiner supportLiu Ying
This patch adds a drm bridge driver for i.MX8qm/qxp pixel combiner. The pixel combiner takes two output streams from a single display controller and manipulates the two streams to support a number of modes(bypass, pixel combine, YUV444 to YUV422, split_RGB) configured as either one screen, two screens, or virtual screens. The pixel combiner is also responsible for generating some of the control signals for the pixel link output channel. For now, the driver only supports the bypass mode. 2022-04-19drm/bridge: lt9211: Add Lontium LT9211 bridge driverMarek Vasut
Add driver for Lontium LT9211 Single/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI to Single-link/Dual-Link DSI/LVDS or Single DPI bridge. This chip is highly capable at converting formats, but sadly it is also highly undocumented. This driver is written without any documentation from Lontium and based only on shreds of information available in various obscure example codes, hence long runs of unknown register patches and lengthy delays in various places. Whichever register meaning could be divined from its behavior has at least a comment around it. Currently the only mode tested is Single-link DSI to Single-link LVDS. Dual-link LVDS might work as well, the register programming is in place, but is untested. 2022-04-13drm: bridge: icn6211: Convert to regmapMarek Vasut
To make debugging easier, convert driver to regmap. Implement read and write regmap tables for known registers, keep all known register readable and mark those which are obviously read-only as not writeable. Use common I2C regmap for the I2C configuration, implement custom regmap bus for DSI configuration. The later is mandatory as this chip requires one extra byte set to read access length between register address and data. 2022-03-31drm/bridge: tc358767: Add DSI-to-DPI mode supportMarek Vasut
The TC358767/TC358867/TC9595 are all capable of operating in multiple modes, DPI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-(e)DP, DSI-to-DPI. Add support for the DSI-to-DPI mode. This requires skipping most of the (e)DP initialization code, which is currently a large part of this driver, hence it is better to have far simpler separate tc_dpi_bridge_funcs and their implementation. The configuration of DPI output is also much simpler. The configuration of the DSI input is rather similar to the other TC bridge chips. The Pixel PLL in DPI output mode does not have the 65..150 MHz limitation imposed on the (e)DP output mode, so this limitation is skipped to permit operating panels with far slower pixel clock, even below 9 MHz. This mode of operation of the PLL is valid and tested. The detection of bridge mode is now added into tc_probe_bridge_mode(), where in case a DPI panel is found on port@1 endpoint@1, the mode is assumed to be DSI-to-DPI. If (e)DP is detected on port@2, the mode is assumed to be DPI-to-(e)DP. The DSI-to-(e)DP mode is not supported due to lack of proper hardware, but this would be some sort of mix between the two aforementioned modes. 2021-11-11drm/bridge: parade-ps8640: Populate devices on aux-busPhilip Chen
Conventionally, panel is listed under the root of the device tree. When userland asks for display mode, ps8640 bridge is responsible for returning EDID when ps8640_bridge_get_edid() is called. Now enable a new option of listing panel under "aux-bus" of ps8640 bridge node in the device tree. In this case, panel driver can retrieve EDID by triggering AUX transactions, without ps8640_bridge_get_edid() calls at all. 2021-05-03drm/bridge: ti-sn65dsi86: Break GPIO and MIPI-to-eDP bridge into sub-driversDouglas Anderson
Let's use the newly minted aux bus to break up the driver into sub drivers. We're not doing a full breakup here: all the code is still in the same file and remains largely untouched. The big goal here of using sub-drivers is to allow part of our code to finish probing even if some other code needs to defer. This can solve some chicken-and-egg problems. Specifically: - In commit 48834e6084f1 ("drm/panel-simple: Support hpd-gpios for delaying prepare()") we had to add a bit of a hack to simpel-panel to support HPD showing up late. We can get rid of that hack now since the GPIO part of our driver can finish probing early. - We have a desire to expose our DDC bus to simple-panel (and perhaps to a backlight driver?). That will end up with the same chicken-and-egg problem. A future patch to move this to a sub-driver will fix it. - If/when we support the PWM functionality present in the bridge chip for a backlight we'll end up with another chicken-and-egg problem. If we allow the PWM to be a sub-driver too then it solves this problem. 2020-11-07drm: bridge: add support for lontium LT9611UXC bridgeDmitry Baryshkov
Add support for Lontium LT9611UXC HDMI bridge. Lontium LT9611UXC is a DSI to HDMI bridge which supports two DSI ports and I2S port as an input and HDMI port as output. Despite name being similar to LT9611, these devices are different enough to warrant separate driver. 2020-09-18drm: bridge: Add support for Cadence MHDP8546 DPI/DP bridgeSwapnil Jakhade
Add a new DRM bridge driver for Cadence MHDP8546 DPTX IP used in TI J721E SoC. MHDP DPTX IP is the component that complies with VESA DisplayPort (DP) and embedded Display Port (eDP) standards. It integrates uCPU running the embedded Firmware (FW) interfaced over APB interface. Basically, it takes a DPI stream as input and outputs it encoded in DP format. Currently, it supports only SST mode.
