2017-06-01drm/exynos: set plane possible_crtcs in exynos_plane_initAndrzej Hajda
All Exynos planes are assigned to exactly one CRTC, it allows to simplify initialization by moving setting of possible_crtcs to exynos_plane_init. Signed-off-by: Andrzej Hajda <a.hajda@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2016-01-13drm/exynos: rename zpos to indexMarek Szyprowski
This patch renames zpos entry to index, because in most places it is used as index for selecting hardware layer/window instead of configurable layer position. This will later enable to make the zpos property configurable. Signed-off-by: Marek Szyprowski <m.szyprowski@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-12-13drm/exynos: introduce exynos_drm_plane_config structureMarek Szyprowski
This patch adds common structure for keeping plane configuration and capabilities data. This patch is inspired by similar code developed by Tobias Jakobi. Changelog v2: - fix vidi_win_types(i) call. vidi_win_types is not a function. Signed-off-by: Marek Szyprowski <m.szyprowski@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-10-26drm/exynos: add cursor plane supportGustavo Padovan
Set one of the planes for each crtc driver as a cursor plane enabled window managers to fully work on exynos. Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-08-31drm/exynos: Properly report supported formats for each deviceMarek Szyprowski
Exynos DRM reported that all planes for all supported sub-devices supports only three pixel formats: XRGB24, ARGB24 and NV12. This patch lets each Exynos DRM sub-drivers to provide the list of supported pixel formats and registers this list to DRM core. 2015-06-20drm/exynos: remove exported functions from exynos_drm_planeGustavo Padovan
Now that no one is using the functions exported by exynos_drm_plane due to the atomic conversion we can make remove some of the them or make them static. v2: remove unused exynos_drm_crtc v3: fix checkpatch error (reported by Joonyoung) Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Reviewed-by: Joonyoung Shim <jy0922.shim@samsung.com> Tested-by: Tobias Jakobi <tjakobi@math.uni-bielefeld.de> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-06-20drm/exynos: atomic phase 1: use drm_plane_helper_update()Gustavo Padovan
Rip out the check from exynos_update_plane() and create exynos_check_plane() for the check phase enabling use to use the atomic helpers to call our check and update phases when updating planes. Update all users of exynos_update_plane() accordingly to call exynos_check_plane() before. 2015-04-13drm/exynos: preset zpos value for overlay planesGustavo Padovan
Usually userspace don't want to have two overlay planes on the same zpos so this change assign a different zpos for each plane. Before this change a zpos of value zero was created for all planes so the userspace had to set up the zpos of every plane it wanted to use. Also all places that were storing zpos positions are now unsigned int. Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-04-13drm/exynos: remove struct *_win_data abstraction on planesGustavo Padovan
struct {fimd,mixer,vidi}_win_data was just keeping the same data as struct exynos_drm_plane thus get ride of it and use exynos_drm_plane directly. It changes how planes are created and remove .win_mode_set() callback that was only filling all *_win_data structs. v2: check for return of exynos_plane_init() Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-02-09drm/exynos: remove exynos_plane_dpmsJoonyoung Shim
The exynos_plane_dpms function handles enabled flag of exynos plane and calls internal hw driver callback function for hw overlay on/off. But it causes state disharmory problem currently and is will be obstacle to apply atomic operation later to keep non-standard per-plane dpms state like enabled flag. Let's remove enabled flag, it just stop to recall internal callback function but hw drivers can handle it properly. And call internal callback function directly then we can remove unnecessary exynos_plane_dpms function Signed-off-by: Joonyoung Shim <jy0922.shim@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-01-25drm/exynos: create exynos_check_plane()Gustavo Padovan
Split update plane in two parts, an initial check part that can fail and the update part that can't fail. This is a important step for the upcoming atomic modesetting support. Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2015-01-25drm/exynos: unify plane update on exynos_update_plane()Gustavo Padovan
We can safely use the exynos_update_plane() to update the plane framebuffer for both the overlay and primary planes. Note that this patch removes a call to manager->ops->commit() in exynos_drm_crtc_mode_set_commit(). The commit() call is used only by the fimd driver to set underlying timings and need only in full modeset operations. For plane update only win_commit is needed. 2015-01-25drm/exynos: remove exynos_plane_commit() wrapperGustavo Padovan
It's doing nothing but calling exynos_crtc->ops->win_commit(), so let's call this directly to avoid extra layers of abstraction. Signed-off-by: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan@collabora.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Inki Dae <inki.dae@samsung.com>
2014-09-20drm/exynos: switch to universal plane APIAndrzej Hajda
The patch replaces legacy functions drm_plane_init() / drm_crtc_init() with drm_universal_plane_init() and drm_crtc_init_with_planes(). It allows to replace fake primary plane with the real one. Additionally the patch leaves cleanup of crtcs to core, this way planes and crtcs are cleaned in correct order. 2014-03-24drm/exynos: Use unsigned long for possible_crtcsSean Paul

2012-07-27drm/exynos: add plane enable/disableJoonyoung Shim

2012-07-27drm/exynos: add property for plane zposJoonyoung Shim
The exynos drm driver used a specific ioctl - DRM_EXYNOS_PLANE_SET_ZPOS to set zpos of plane. It can be substitute to property of plane. This patch adds a property for plane zpos and removes DRM_EXYNOS_PLANE_SET_ZPOS ioctl. 2012-07-27drm/exynos: update overlay via plane from crtcJoonyoung Shim
There is no any reason to update overlay at crtc directly because the crtc uses plane. Move its code to plane and call proper functions of plane from crtc. 2011-12-21drm/exynos: Add plane support with fimdJoonyoung Shim
The exynos fimd supports 5 window overlays. Only one window overlay of fimd is used by the crtc, so we need plane feature to use the rest window overlays. This creates one ioctl exynos specific - DRM_EXYNOS_PLANE_SET_ZPOS, it is the ioctl to decide for user to assign which window overlay.
