2019-06-17drm/i915: move modesetting core code under display/Jani Nikula
Now that we have a new subdirectory for display code, continue by moving modesetting core code. display/intel_frontbuffer.h sticks out like a sore thumb, otherwise this is, again, a surprisingly clean operation. v2: - don't move intel_sideband.[ch] (Ville) - use tabs for Makefile file lists and sort them Cc: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Cc: Joonas Lahtinen <joonas.lahtinen@linux.intel.com> Cc: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Cc: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Reviewed-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Acked-by: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Acked-by: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com> Acked-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20190613084416.6794-3-jani.nikula@intel.com
2019-06-17drm/i915: move modesetting output/encoder code under display/Jani Nikula
Add a new subdirectory for display code, and start off by moving modesetting output/encoder code. Judging by the include changes, this is a surprisingly clean operation. v2: - move intel_sdvo_regs.h too - use tabs for Makefile file lists and sort them Cc: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Cc: Joonas Lahtinen <joonas.lahtinen@linux.intel.com> Cc: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Cc: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Reviewed-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Acked-by: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Acked-by: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com> Acked-by: Ville Syrjälä <ville.syrjala@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jani Nikula <jani.nikula@intel.com> Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20190613084416.6794-2-jani.nikula@intel.com

2019-06-15kbuild: add support for ensuring headers are self-containedJani Nikula
Sometimes it's useful to be able to explicitly ensure certain headers remain self-contained, i.e. that they are compilable as standalone units, by including and/or forward declaring everything they depend on. Add special target header-test-y where individual Makefiles can add headers to be tested if CONFIG_HEADER_TEST is enabled. This will generate a dummy C file per header that gets built as part of extra-y. 2019-06-04drm/i915: extract intel_display_power.h/c from intel_runtime_pm.h/cDaniele Ceraolo Spurio
Keep all the device-level PM management in intel_runtime_pm.h/c and move all the display specific bits into their own file. Also add the new header to Makefile.header-test. Apart from the giant code move, the only difference is with the intel_runtime_<get/put>_raw() functions, which are now exposed in the header. The _put() version is also not conditionally compiled anymore since it is ok to always pass the wakeref taken from the _get() to __intel_runtime_pm_put (it is -1 if tracking is disabled). 2019-04-24drm/i915: Introduce struct intel_wakerefChris Wilson
For controlling runtime pm of the GT and engines, we would like to have a callback to do extra work the first time we wake up and the last time we drop the wakeref. 2019-04-24drm/i915: Move GraphicsTechnology files under gt/Chris Wilson
Start partitioning off the code that talks to the hardware (GT) from the uapi layers and move the device facing code under gt/ One casualty is s/intel_ringbuffer.h/intel_engine.h/ with the plan to subdivide that header and body further (and split out the submission code from the ringbuffer and logical context handling).
