2024-10-31drm/msm/dp: prefix all symbols with msm_dp_Dmitry Baryshkov
For historical reasons a lot of symbols in the MSM DisplayPort driver used the generic dp_ prefix. Perform a mass-rename of those symbols to use msm_dp prefix. Basically this is a result of the following script: sed drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/* -i -e 's/\<dp_/msm_dp_/g' sed drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/* -i -e 's/"msm_dp_/"dp_/g' sed drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/* -i -e 's/msm_\(dp_sdp_header\|dp_sdp\)\>/\1/g' Yes, this also results in renaming of several struct fields in addition to renaming the structs and functions, but I think the simple solution is better than the more complex one. 2024-04-22drm/msm/dp: Drop unused dp_debug structBjorn Andersson
The members of struct dp_debug are no longer used, so the only purpose of this struct is as a type of the return value of dp_debug_get(), to signal success/error. Drop the struct in favor of signalling the result of initialization using an int, then merge dp_debug_get() with dp_debug_init() to avoid the unnecessar boilerplate code. 2023-12-03drm/msm/dp: cleanup debugfs handlingDmitry Baryshkov
Currently there are two subdirs for DP debugfs files, e.g. DP-1, created by the drm core for the connector, and the msm_dp-DP-1, created by the DP driver itself. Merge those two, so that there are no extraneous connector-related subdirs. 2022-02-18drm/msm/dp: Move debugfs files into subdirectoryBjorn Andersson
In the cleanup path of the MSM DP driver the DP driver's debugfs files are destroyed by invoking debugfs_remove_recursive() on debug->root, which during initialization has been set to minor->debugfs_root. To allow cleaning up the DP driver's debugfs files either each dentry needs to be kept track of or the files needs to be put in a subdirectory which can be removed in one go. By choosing to put the debugfs files in a subdirectory, based on the name of the associated connector this also solves the problem that these names would collide as support for multiple DP instances are introduced. One alternative solution to the problem with colliding file names would have been to put keep track of the individual files and put them under the connector's debugfs directory. But while the drm_connector has been allocated, its associated debugfs directory has not been created at the time of initialization of the dp_debug. 2021-10-15drm/msm/dp: Simplify the dp_debug debugfs show functionBjorn Andersson

2021-10-15drm/msm/dp: Use the connector passed to dp_debug_get()Bjorn Andersson
The debugfs code is provided an array of a single drm_connector. Then to access the connector, the list of all connectors of the DRM device is traversed and all non-DisplayPort connectors are skipped, to find the one and only DisplayPort connector. But as we move to support multiple DisplayPort controllers this will now find multiple connectors and has no way to distinguish them. Pass the single connector to dp_debug_get() and use this in the debugfs functions instead, both to simplify the code and the support the multiple instances. 2021-04-07drm/msm/dp: delete unnecessary debugfs error handlingAbhinav Kumar
Currently the error checking logic in the dp_debug module could pass zero to PTR_ERR and it causes the below kbot warnings: drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/dp_debug.c:378 dp_debug_init() warn: passing zero to 'PTR_ERR' drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/dp_debug.c:387 dp_debug_init() warn: passing zero to 'PTR_ERR' drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/dp_debug.c:396 dp_debug_init() warn: passing zero to 'PTR_ERR' drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dp/dp_debug.c:405 dp_debug_init() warn: passing zero to 'PTR_ERR' Debugfs functions are not supposed to be checked in the normal case so delete this code.
