2020-11-09drm/gem: Use struct dma_buf_map in GEM vmap ops and convert GEM backendsThomas Zimmermann
This patch replaces the vmap/vunmap's use of raw pointers in GEM object functions with instances of struct dma_buf_map. GEM backends are converted as well. For most of them, this simply changes the returned type. TTM-based drivers now return information about the location of the memory, either system or I/O memory. GEM VRAM helpers and qxl now use ttm_bo_vmap() et al. 2019-09-25drm/radeon: untag user pointers in radeon_gem_userptr_ioctlAndrey Konovalov
This patch is a part of a series that extends kernel ABI to allow to pass tagged user pointers (with the top byte set to something else other than 0x00) as syscall arguments. In radeon_gem_userptr_ioctl() an MMU notifier is set up with a (tagged) userspace pointer. The untagged address should be used so that MMU notifiers for the untagged address get correctly matched up with the right BO. This funcation also calls radeon_ttm_tt_pin_userptr(), which uses provided user pointers for vma lookups, which can only by done with untagged pointers. This patch untags user pointers in radeon_gem_userptr_ioctl(). to READ_ONCE()/WRITE_ONCE() Please do not apply this to mainline directly, instead please re-run the coccinelle script shown below and apply its output. For several reasons, it is desirable to use {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() in preference to ACCESS_ONCE(), and new code is expected to use one of the former. So far, there's been no reason to change most existing uses of ACCESS_ONCE(), as these aren't harmful, and changing them results in churn. However, for some features, the read/write distinction is critical to correct operation. To distinguish these cases, separate read/write accessors must be used. vram_size is supposed to be the total amount of VRAM that can be used by userspace, which corresponds to the TTM VRAM manager size (which is normally the full amount of VRAM, but can be just the visible VRAM when DMA can't be used for BO migration for some reason). The above was incorrectly used for vram_visible before, resulting in generally too large values being reported. It happens on occasion that developers of generic user-space applications abuse the dumb buffer API to get hold of drm buffers that they can both mmap() and use for GPU acceleration, using the assumptions that dumb buffers and buffers available for GPU are a) The same type and can be aribtrarily type-casted. b) fully coherent. This patch makes the most widely used drivers warn nicely when that happens, the next step will be to fail. v2: Move drmP.h changes to drm_gem.h. Fix Radeon dumb mmap breakage.
