wait_for_completion_timeout() returns unsigned long not int. It returns 0 if timed out, and positive if completed. 2022-04-04iio:proximity:sx9324: Fix hardware gain read/writeStephen Boyd
There are four possible gain values according to 'sx9324_gain_vals[]': 1, 2, 4, and 8 The values are off by one when writing and reading the register. The bits should be set according to this equation: ilog2(<gain>) + 1 so that a gain of 8 is 0x4 in the register field and a gain of 4 is 0x3 in the register field, etc. Note that a gain of 0 is reserved per the datasheet. The default gain (SX9324_REG_PROX_CTRL0_GAIN_1) is also wrong. It should be 0x1 << 3, i.e. 0x8, not 0x80 which is setting the reserved bit 7. Fix this all up to properly handle the hardware gain and return errors for invalid settings. 2022-04-04iio:proximity:sx_common: Fix device property parsing on DT systemsStephen Boyd
After commit 7a3605bef878 ("iio: sx9310: Support ACPI property") we started using the 'indio_dev->dev' to extract device properties for various register settings in sx9310_get_default_reg(). This broke DT based systems because dev_fwnode() used in the device_property*() APIs can't find an 'of_node'. That's because the 'indio_dev->dev.of_node' pointer isn't set until iio_device_register() is called. Set the pointer earlier, next to where the ACPI companion is set, so that the device property APIs work on DT systems. To convert SX9360 status register ["REG_STAT"], into a channel index, we need to right shift by |stat_offset|, not left shift. This change converts the probe hook to register the IIO device with devm_iio_device_register() and register a hook with devm_add_action_or_reset() to put the device in powerdown when the driver gets unloaded. Since the PM suspend/resume functions need only a reference to the i2c_client object (which can be obtained from the base device object), the i2c_set_clientdata() call can be removed. 2021-07-17iio: proximity: rfd77402: use i2c_client for rfd77402_{init,powerdown}()Alexandru Ardelean
These 2 functions only do I2C reads/writes and don't require any of the private data of the driver. They're also used in the PM suspend/resume part of the driver. Converting them to take an i2c_client object as parameter simplifies things a bit (especially in the suspend/resume) as the driver mostly needs the reference for i2c_client, so no need to jump through hoops to get it from the private data (as was done in many places). The rfd77402_measure() function has also been converted to take an i2c_client object, since it also does only I2C ops. With the current code, we want to read 4 entries from DT array "semtech,combined-sensors". If there are less, we silently fail as of_property_read_u32_array() returns -EOVERFLOW. iio_trigger_set_drvdata() sets the trigger device parent to first argument of viio_trigger_alloc(), no need to do it again in the driver code. Given we call devm_iio_trigger_alloc() and devm_iio_device_alloc() with dev as parent, we do not have to set data->trig->dev.parent to indio_dev->dev.parent anymore. 2021-03-25iio: proximity: Add a ChromeOS EC MKBP proximity driverStephen Boyd
Add support for a ChromeOS EC proximity driver that exposes a "front" proximity sensor via the IIO subsystem. The EC decides when front proximity is near and sets an MKBP switch 'EC_MKBP_FRONT_PROXIMITY' to notify the kernel of proximity. Similarly, when proximity detects something far away it sets the switch bit to 0. For now this driver exposes a single sensor, but it could be expanded in the future via more MKBP bits if desired. 2021-01-14iio: sx9310: Fix semtech,avg-pos-strength setting when > 16Stephen Boyd
This DT property can be 0, 16, and then 64, but not 32. The math here doesn't recognize this slight bump in the power of 2 numbers and translates a DT property of 64 into the register value '3' when it really should be '2'. Fix it by subtracting one more if the number being translated is larger than 31. Also use clamp() because we're here.
