2022-07-11RDMA/irdma: Fix sleep from invalid context BUGMustafa Ismail
Taking the qos_mutex to process RoCEv2 QP's on netdev events causes a kernel splat. Fix this by removing the handling for RoCEv2 in irdma_cm_teardown_connections that uses the mutex. This handling is only needed for iWARP to avoid having connections established while the link is down or having connections remain functional after the IP address is removed. BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/mutex. 2022-07-11RDMA/irdma: Do not advertise 1GB page size for x722Mustafa Ismail
x722 does not support 1GB page size but the irdma driver incorrectly advertises 1GB page size support for x722 device to ib_core to compute the best page size to use on this MR. This could lead to incorrect start offsets computed by hardware on the MR. 2022-05-11RDMA/irdma: Add SW mechanism to generate completions on errorMustafa Ismail
HW flushes after QP in error state is not reliable. This can lead to application hang waiting on a completion for outstanding WRs. Implement a SW mechanism to generate completions for any outstanding WR's after the QP is modified to error. This is accomplished by starting a delayed worker after the QP is modified to error and the HW flush is performed. The worker will generate completions that will be returned to the application when it polls the CQ. This mechanism only applies to Kernel applications. 2022-05-02RDMA/irdma: Fix possible crash due to NULL netdev in notifierMustafa Ismail
For some net events in irdma_net_event notifier, the netdev can be NULL which will cause a crash in rdma_vlan_dev_real_dev. Fix this by moving all processing to the NETEVENT_NEIGH_UPDATE case where the netdev is guaranteed to not be NULL. 2022-05-02RDMA/irdma: Reduce iWARP QP destroy timeShiraz Saleem
QP destroy is synchronous and waits for its refcnt to be decremented in irdma_cm_node_free_cb (for iWARP) which fires after the RCU grace period elapses. Applications running a large number of connections are exposed to high wait times on destroy QP for events like SIGABORT. The long pole for this wait time is the firing of the call_rcu callback during a CM node destroy which can be slow. It holds the QP reference count and blocks the destroy QP from completing. call_rcu only needs to make sure that list walkers have a reference to the cm_node object before freeing it and thus need to wait for grace period elapse. The rest of the connection teardown in irdma_cm_node_free_cb is moved out of the grace period wait in irdma_destroy_connection. Also, replace call_rcu with a simple kfree_rcu as it just needs to do a kfree on the cm_node Fixes: 146b9756f14c ("RDMA/irdma: Add connection manager") Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220425181703.1634-3-shiraz.saleem@intel.com Signed-off-by: Shiraz Saleem <shiraz.saleem@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com>
2022-05-02RDMA/irdma: Flush iWARP QP if modified to ERR from RTR stateTatyana Nikolova
When connection establishment fails in iWARP mode, an app can drain the QPs and hang because flush isn't issued when the QP is modified from RTR state to error. Issue a flush in this case using function irdma_cm_disconn(). Update irdma_cm_disconn() to do flush when cm_id is NULL, which is the case when the QP is in RTR state and there is an error in the connection establishment. 2022-04-19RDMA/irdma: Fix deadlock in irdma_cleanup_cm_core()Duoming Zhou
There is a deadlock in irdma_cleanup_cm_core(), which is shown below: (Thread 1) | (Thread 2) | irdma_schedule_cm_timer() irdma_cleanup_cm_core() | add_timer() spin_lock_irqsave() //(1) | (wait a time) ... | irdma_cm_timer_tick() del_timer_sync() | spin_lock_irqsave() //(2) (wait timer to stop) | ... We hold cm_core->ht_lock in position (1) of thread 1 and use del_timer_sync() to wait timer to stop, but timer handler also need cm_core->ht_lock in position (2) of thread 2. As a result, irdma_cleanup_cm_core() will block forever. This patch removes the check of timer_pending() in irdma_cleanup_cm_core(), because the del_timer_sync() function will just return directly if there isn't a pending timer. As a result, the lock is redundant, because there is no resource it could protect. 2022-04-06RDMA: Split kernel-only global device caps from uverbs device capsJason Gunthorpe
Split out flags from ib_device::device_cap_flags that are only used internally to the kernel into kernel_cap_flags that is not part of the uapi. This limits the device_cap_flags to being the same bitmap that will be copied to userspace. This cleanly splits out the uverbs flags from the kernel flags to avoid confusion in the flags bitmap. Add some short comments describing which each of the kernel flags is connected to. Remove unused kernel flags. 2022-03-14RDMA/irdma: Prevent some integer underflowsDan Carpenter
My static checker complains that: drivers/infiniband/hw/irdma/ctrl.c:3605 irdma_sc_ceq_init() warn: can subtract underflow 'info->dev->hmc_fpm_misc.max_ceqs'? It appears that "info->dev->hmc_fpm_misc.max_ceqs" comes from the firmware in irdma_sc_parse_fpm_query_buf() so, yes, there is a chance that it could be zero. Even if we trust the firmware, it's easy enough to change the condition just as a hardenning measure. sock.h is pretty heavily used (5k objects rebuilt on x86 after it's touched). We can drop the include of filter.h from it and add a forward declaration of struct sk_filter instead. This decreases the number of rebuilt objects when bpf.h is touched from ~5k to ~1k. There's a lot of missing includes this was masking. Primarily in networking tho, this time. 2021-12-10RDMA/irdma: Use irq_update_affinity_hint()Nitesh Narayan Lal
The driver uses irq_set_affinity_hint() to update the affinity_hint mask that is consumed by the userspace to distribute the interrupts. However, under the hood irq_set_affinity_hint() also applies the provided cpumask (if not NULL) as the affinity for the given interrupt which is an undocumented side effect. To remove this side effect irq_set_affinity_hint() has been marked as deprecated and new interfaces have been introduced. Hence, replace the irq_set_affinity_hint() with the new interface irq_update_affinity_hint() that only updates the affinity_hint pointer. 2021-12-07RDMA/irdma: Fix a potential memory allocation issue in ↵Christophe JAILLET
'irdma_prm_add_pble_mem()' 'pchunk->bitmapbuf' is a bitmap. Its size (in number of bits) is stored in 'pchunk->sizeofbitmap'. When it is allocated, the size (in bytes) is computed by: size_in_bits >> 3 There are 2 issues (numbers bellow assume that longs are 64 bits): - there is no guarantee here that 'pchunk->bitmapmem.size' is modulo BITS_PER_LONG but bitmaps are stored as longs (sizeofbitmap=8 bits will only allocate 1 byte, instead of 8 (1 long)) - the number of bytes is computed with a shift, not a round up, so we may allocate less memory than needed (sizeofbitmap=65 bits will only allocate 8 bytes (i.e. 1 long), when 2 longs are needed = 16 bytes) Fix both issues by using 'bitmap_zalloc()' and remove the useless 'bitmapmem' from 'struct irdma_chunk'. While at it, remove some useless NULL test before calling kfree/bitmap_free.
