V4L2 subdev operations have moved from operating on a v4l2_subdev_pad_config to a v4l2_subdev_state a long time ago. Fix remaining incorrect references to pad config in comments. 2023-10-07media: qcom: camss: Remove special case for VFE get/putBryan O'Donoghue
From sdm845 onwards we need to ensure the VFE is powered on prior to switching on the CSID. Currently the code tests for sdm845, sm8250 and then does get/set. This is not extensible and it turns out is not necessary either since vfe_get and vfe_set reference count. Remove the over-conservative SoC version check. 2023-10-07media: qcom: camss: Pass CAMSS subdev callbacks via resource ops pointerBryan O'Donoghue
It is possible to pass all of the CAMSS subdevice internal operations pointers from the controlling resources structure with an additional pointer added to the resources structure. This allows for the removal of most of the probe-time control structures. Signed-off-by: Bryan O'Donoghue <bryan.odonoghue@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl>
2023-10-07media: qcom: camss: Pass remainder of variables as resourcesBryan O'Donoghue
The following variables are being assigned statically based on compatible strings in the probe path. * enum camss_version version; * unsigned int csiphy_num; * unsigned int csid_num; * unsigned int vfe_num; * unsigned int vfe_lite_num; * unsigned int vfe_total_num; Migrate those variables to resource parameters passed in on platform probe arguments. The one caveat is for VFE it has been necessary to intoduce a new variable vfe_total_num to capture the aggregate value of vfe_num + vfe_lite_num. All the rest of the changes are rote camss->variable to camss->res->variable with the parameter tables now populating the listed variables. Rename non-specific struct resources {} to struct camss_subdev_resources {} Each logical block in CAMSS has a number of regulators, clocks and resets associated with it. We represent these blocks as v4l subdevices. The name "struct camss_subdev_resources" is a more descriptive and accurate name. 2023-09-27media: qcom/camss: use 1X16 formats instead of 2X8Martin Dørum
Platforms with qcom-camss use CSI-2, which means 1X16 is more correct than 2X8. The fact that qcom-camss supported only 2X8 meant it was incompatible with camera sensors it should have been compatible with. For example, the ov5645 driver (correctly) reports that its format is UYVY8_1X16 (after ba449bb56203aedc4530a82b0f3f83358808b7f2). Since qcom-camss only supports 2X8, the qcom-camss system is incompatible with the ov5645 driver, even though they should be compatible. This patch replaces all uses of UYVY8_2X8/VYUY8_2X8/YUYV8_2X8/YVYU8_2X8 with the equivalent 1X16 formats. 2023-04-11media: camss: sm8250: Virtual channels for CSIDMilen Mitkov
CSID hardware on SM8250 can demux up to 4 simultaneous streams based on virtual channel (vc) or datatype (dt). The CSID subdevice entity now has 4 source ports that can be enabled/disabled and thus can control which virtual channels are enabled. Datatype demuxing not tested. In order to keep a valid internal state of the subdevice, implicit format propagation from the sink to the source pads has been preserved. However, the format on each source pad can be different and in that case it must be configured explicitly. CSID's s_stream is called when any stream is started or stopped. It will call configure_streams() that will rewrite IRQ settings to HW. When multiple streams are running simultaneously there is an issue when writing IRQ settings for one stream while another is still running, thus avoid re-writing settings if they were not changed in link setup, or by fully powering off the CSID hardware. 2021-06-17media: v4l2-subdev: add subdev-wide state structTomi Valkeinen
We have 'struct v4l2_subdev_pad_config' which contains configuration for a single pad used for the TRY functionality, and an array of those structs is passed to various v4l2_subdev_pad_ops. I was working on subdev internal routing between pads, and realized that there's no way to add TRY functionality for routes, which is not pad specific configuration. Adding a separate struct for try-route config wouldn't work either, as e.g. set-fmt needs to know the try-route configuration to propagate the settings. This patch adds a new struct, 'struct v4l2_subdev_state' (which at the moment only contains the v4l2_subdev_pad_config array) and the new struct is used in most of the places where v4l2_subdev_pad_config was used. All v4l2_subdev_pad_ops functions taking v4l2_subdev_pad_config are changed to instead take v4l2_subdev_state. The changes to drivers/media/v4l2-core/v4l2-subdev.c and include/media/v4l2-subdev.h were written by hand, and all the driver changes were done with the semantic patch below. The spatch needs to be applied to a select list of directories. I used the following shell commands to apply the spatch: dirs="drivers/media/i2c drivers/media/platform drivers/media/usb drivers/media/test-drivers/vimc drivers/media/pci drivers/staging/media" for dir in $dirs; do spatch -j8 --dir --include-headers --no-show-diff --in-place --sp-file v4l2-subdev-state.cocci $dir; done Note that Coccinelle chokes on a few drivers (gcc extensions?). 2021-03-22media: camss: Add missing format identifiersRobert Foss
The CSI-2 spec defines format identifier for Data Type (DT), and how the Decode Format (DF) & Encode Format (EF) are implemented. The spec does however not define the DF, EF or Plain Format (PF) identifiers, as those are vendor specific. Plain formats describe the size of the pixels written by the RDI units to memory. PLAIN8 for example has the size 8 bits, and PLAIN32 32 bits. The appropriate Plain Format is determined by the Decode Format used. The smallest Plain Format that is able to contain a pixel of the used Decode Format is the appropriate one to use. 2021-03-11media: camss: use v4l2_get_link_freq() to calculate the relevant clocksAndrey Konovalov
There are places in the camss driver where camss_get_pixel_clock() is called to get the pixel rate (using V4L2_CID_PIXEL_RATE control) and to calculate the link frequency from it. There is a case when this would not work: when V4L2_CID_PIXEL_RATE gets the rate at which the pixels are read (sampled) from the sensor's pixel array, and this rate is different from the pixel transmission rate over the CSI link, the link frequency value can't be calculated from the pixel rate. One needs to use V4L2_CID_LINK_FREQ to get the link frequency in this case. Replace such calls to camss_get_pixel_clock() with calls to a wrapper around v4l2_get_link_freq(). v4l2_get_link_freq() tries V4L2_CID_LINK_FREQ first, and if it is not implemented by the camera sensor driver, falls back to V4L2_CID_PIXEL_RATE to calculate the link frequency value from. Calls to camss_get_pixel_clock() from vfe_[check,set]_clock_rates() are left intact as it looks like this VFE clock does depend on the rate the pixel samples comes out of the camera sensor, not on the frequency at which the link between the sensor and the CSI receiver operates. pm_runtime_get_sync() increments the runtime PM usage counter even when it returns an error code. Thus a pairing decrement is needed on the error handling path to keep the counter balanced. 2018-08-02media: camss: csid: Different format support on source padTodor Tomov
Usually the format on the source pad is the same as on the sink pad. However the CSID is able to do some format conversions. To support this make the format on the source pad selectable amongst a list of formats. This list can be different for each sink pad format. This is still not used but will be when the format conversions are implemented. 2018-08-02media: camss: Add basic runtime PM supportTodor Tomov
There is a PM domain for each of the VFE hardware modules. Add support for basic runtime PM support to be able to control the PM domains. When a PM domain needs to be powered on - a device link is created. When a PM domain needs to be powered off - its device link is removed. This allows separate and independent control of the PM domains. Suspend/Resume is still not supported.
