2024-02-23mfd: rsmu_i2c: Convert to use maple tree register cacheBo Liu
The maple tree register cache is based on a much more modern data structure than the rbtree cache and makes optimisation choices which are probably more appropriate for modern systems than those made by the rbtree cache. 2023-08-22mfd: rsmu_i2c: Remove redundant of_match_ptr()Zhu Wang
The driver depends on CONFIG_OF, so it is not necessary to use of_match_ptr() here. We remove of_match_ptr() here. Signed-off-by: Zhu Wang <wangzhu9@huawei.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230808130023.202700-2-wangzhu9@huawei.com Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee@kernel.org>
2023-06-15mfd: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. 2023-04-26mfd: rsmu_i2c: Convert to i2c's .probe_new() againUwe Kleine-König
This commit reapplies commit 601e6d48ee35 ("mfd: rsmu_i2c: Convert to i2c's .probe_new()") which was accidently reverted by commit 1b3b1d6c27cc ("mfd: rsmu: Support 32-bit address space"). Without this change the driver fails to build in combination with commit 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") which is contained in v6.3-rc2. 2023-04-26mfd: rsmu: Support 32-bit address spaceMin Li
We used to assume 0x2010xxxx address. Now that we need to access 0x2011xxxx address, we need to support read/write the whole 32-bit address space. Also defined RSMU_MAX_WRITE_COUNT and RSMU_MAX_READ_COUNT for readability Signed-off-by: Min Li <min.li.xe@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/MW5PR03MB693295AF31ABCAF6AE52EE74A08B9@MW5PR03MB6932.namprd03.prod.outlook.com
2022-12-07mfd: rsmu_i2c: Convert to i2c's .probe_new()Uwe Kleine-König
.probe_new() doesn't get the i2c_device_id * parameter, so determine that explicitly in the probe function. Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Lee Jones <lee@kernel.org> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221118224540.619276-456-uwe@kleine-koenig.org
2022-08-16i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. 2021-07-13mfd: Add Renesas Synchronization Management Unit (SMU) supportMin Li
Add support for ClockMatrix(TM) and 82P33xxx families of timing and synchronization devices. The access interface can be either SPI or I2C. Currently, it will create 2 types of MFD devices, which are to be used by the corresponding rsmu character device driver and the PTP hardware clock driver, respectively.
