2021-12-07can: pch_can: pch_can_rx_normal: fix use after freeVincent Mailhol
After calling netif_receive_skb(skb), dereferencing skb is unsafe. Especially, the can_frame cf which aliases skb memory is dereferenced just after the call netif_receive_skb(skb). 2021-01-14can: dev: can_get_echo_skb(): extend to return can frame lengthMarc Kleine-Budde
In order to implement byte queue limits (bql) in CAN drivers, the length of the CAN frame needs to be passed into the networking stack after queueing and after transmission completion. To avoid to calculate this length twice, extend can_get_echo_skb() to return that value. Convert all users of this function, too. 2021-01-14can: dev: can_put_echo_skb(): extend to handle frame_lenVincent Mailhol
Add a frame_len argument to can_put_echo_skb() which is used to save length of the CAN frame into field frame_len of struct can_skb_priv so that it can be later used after transmission completion. Convert all users of this function, too. Drivers which implement BQL call can_put_echo_skb() with the output of can_skb_get_frame_len(skb) and drivers which do not simply pass zero as an input (in the same way that NULL would be given to can_get_echo_skb()). This way, we have a nice symmetry between the two echo functions. 2020-11-20can: replace can_dlc as variable/element for payload lengthOliver Hartkopp
The naming of can_dlc as element of struct can_frame and also as variable name is misleading as it claims to be a 'data length CODE' but in reality it always was a plain data length. With the indroduction of a new 'len' element in struct can_frame we can now remove can_dlc as name and make clear which of the former uses was a plain length (-> 'len') or a data length code (-> 'dlc') value. 2020-09-21can: pch_can: use generic power managementVaibhav Gupta
Drivers using legacy power management .suspen()/.resume() callbacks have to manage PCI states and device's PM states themselves. They also need to take care of standard configuration registers. Switch to generic power management framework using a single "struct dev_pm_ops" variable to take the unnecessary load from the driver. This also avoids the need for the driver to directly call most of the PCI helper functions and device power state control functions, as through the generic framework PCI Core takes care of the necessary operations, and drivers are required to do only device-specific jobs. 2015-11-23can: fix assignment of error location in CAN error messagesOliver Hartkopp
As Dan Carpenter reported in http://marc.info/?l=linux-can&m=144793696016187 the assignment of the error location in CAN error messages had some bit wise overlaps. Indeed the value to be assigned in data[3] is no bitfield but defines a single value which points to a location inside the CAN frame on the wire. This patch fixes the assignments for the error locations in error messages. 2015-01-20can: move can_stats.bus_off++ from can_bus_off into can_change_stateAndri Yngvason
In order to be able to move the stats increment from can_bus_off() into can_change_state(), the increment had to be moved back into code that was using can_bus_off() but not can_change_state(). As a side-effect, this patch fixes the following bugs: * Redundant call to can_bus_off() in c_can. * Bus-off counted twice in xilinx_can. 2014-03-17can: Unify MTU settings for CAN interfacesOliver Hartkopp
CAN interfaces only support MTU values of 16 (CAN 2.0) and 72 (CAN FD). Setting the MTU to other values is pointless but it does not really hurt. With the introduction of the CAN FD support in drivers/net/can a new function to switch the MTU for CAN FD has been introduced. This patch makes use of this can_change_mtu() function to check for correct MTU settings also in legacy CAN (2.0) devices. None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. The test (((errc & PCH_REC) >> 8) > 127) would always be false because the receive error counter ((errc & PCH_REC) >> 8) is at most 127, where PCH_REC is defined as 0x7f00.
