2014-03-28fs_enet: remove empty MDIO bus functionFlorian Fainelli
fs_enet_fec_mii_reset() does nothing useful and is optional for the MDIO bus code, so let's just remove it. Signed-off-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-01-16drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-10-09drivers: clean-up prom.h implicit includesRob Herring
Powerpc is a mess of implicit includes by prom.h. Add the necessary explicit includes to drivers in preparation of prom.h cleanup. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <rob.herring@calxeda.com> Acked-by: Grant Likely <grant.likely@linaro.org>
2013-05-25net: ethernet: use platform_{get,set}_drvdata()Jingoo Han
Use the wrapper functions for getting and setting the driver data using platform_device instead of using dev_{get,set}_drvdata() with &pdev->dev, so we can directly pass a struct platform_device. Also, unnecessary dev_set_drvdata() is removed, because the driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release or on probe failure. 2012-12-03fs_enet: remove __dev* attributesBill Pemberton
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. 2012-08-14drivers/net/ethernet/freescale/fs_enet: fix error return codeJulia Lawall
Convert a 0 error return code to a negative one, as returned elsewhere in the function. A simplified version of the semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @@ identifier ret; expression e,e1,e2,e3,e4,x; @@ ( if (\(ret != 0\|ret < 0\) || ...) { ... return ...; } | ret = 0 ) ... when != ret = e1 *x = \(kmalloc\|kzalloc\|kcalloc\|devm_kzalloc\|ioremap\|ioremap_nocache\|devm_ioremap\|devm_ioremap_nocache\)(...); ... when != x = e2 when != ret = e3 *if (x == NULL || ...) { ... when != ret = e4 * return ret; } // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. 2011-11-29net/ethernet: convert drivers/net/ethernet/* to use module_platform_driver()Axel Lin
This patch converts the drivers in drivers/net/ethernet/* to use the module_platform_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. Cc: "David S.
