2017-02-10net: hns: Fix the device being used for dma mapping during TXKejian Yan
This patch fixes the device being used to DMA map skb->data. Erroneous device assignment causes the crash when SMMU is enabled. This happens during TX since buffer gets DMA mapped with device correspondign to net_device and gets unmapped using the device related to DSAF. 2017-02-03hns_enet: use cpumask_var_t for on-stack maskArnd Bergmann
On large SMP builds, we can run into a build warning: drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns/hns_enet.c: In function 'hns_set_irq_affinity.isra.27': drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns/hns_enet.c:1242:1: warning: the frame size of 1032 bytes is larger than 1024 bytes [-Wframe-larger-than=] The solution here is to use cpumask_var_t, which can use dynamic allocation when CONFIG_CPUMASK_OFFSTACK is enabled. 2017-01-18net: Remove usage of net_device last_rx memberTobias Klauser
The network stack no longer uses the last_rx member of struct net_device since the bonding driver switched to use its own private last_rx in commit 9f242738376d ("bonding: use last_arp_rx in slave_last_rx()"). However, some drivers still (ab)use the field for their own purposes and some driver just update it without actually using it. Previously, there was an accompanying comment for the last_rx member added in commit 4dc89133f49b ("net: add a comment on netdev->last_rx") which asked drivers not to update is, unless really needed. However, this commend was removed in commit f8ff080dacec ("bonding: remove useless updating of slave->dev->last_rx"), so some drivers added later on still did update last_rx. Remove all usage of last_rx and switch three drivers (sky2, atp and smc91c92_cs) which actually read and write it to use their own private copy in netdev_priv. Compile-tested with allyesconfig and allmodconfig on x86 and arm. 2017-01-08net: make ndo_get_stats64 a void functionstephen hemminger
The network device operation for reading statistics is only called in one place, and it ignores the return value. Having a structure return value is potentially confusing because some future driver could incorrectly assume that the return value was used. Fix all drivers with ndo_get_stats64 to have a void function. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <sthemmin@microsoft.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-12-06net: hns: Fix to conditionally convey RX checksum flag to stackSalil
This patch introduces the RX checksum function to check the status of the hardware calculated checksum and its error and appropriately convey status to the upper stack in skb->ip_summed field. In hardware, we only support checksum for the following protocols: 1) IPv4, 2) TCP(over IPv4 or IPv6), 3) UDP(over IPv4 or IPv6), 4) SCTP(over IPv4 or IPv6) but we support many L3(IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, PPPoE etc) and L4(TCP, UDP, GRE, SCTP, IGMP, ICMP etc.) protocols. Hardware limitation: Our present hardware RX Descriptor lacks L3/L4 checksum "Status & Error" bit (which usually can be used to indicate whether checksum was calculated by the hardware and if there was any error encountered during checksum calculation). Software workaround: We do get info within the RX descriptor about the kind of L3/L4 protocol coming in the packet and the error status. These errors might not just be checksum errors but could be related to version, length of IPv4, UDP, TCP etc. Because there is no-way of knowing if it is a L3/L4 error due to bad checksum or any other L3/L4 error, we will not (cannot) convey hardware checksum status(CHECKSUM_UNNECESSARY) for such cases to upper stack and will not maintain the RX L3/L4 checksum counters as well. They didn't do horribly, but there were some issues (and we knew that because they simply didn't know what to do in the beginning). As a result, I had a set of patches that depended on some patches that normally would have come to you via Dave's tree. 2016-06-21net: hns: fix the wrong speed for bondQianqian Xie
For debug-ports,there are two non-synchronized processes: Speed-Auto-Negotiation and Link-Update-Status. The two processes are towed by two different state machines. 2016-01-06net: hns: avoid uninitialized variable warning:Arnd Bergmann
gcc fails to see that the use of the 'last_offset' variable in hns_nic_reuse_page() is used correctly and issues a bogus warning: drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns/hns_enet.c: In function 'hns_nic_reuse_page': drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns/hns_enet.c:541:6: warning: 'last_offset' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wmaybe-uninitialized] This simplifies the function to make it more obvious what is going on to both readers and compilers, which makes the warning go away. 2015-12-04net:hns: Add Hip06 "TSO(TCP Segment Offload)" support HNS DriverSalil
This patch adds the support of "TSO (TCP Segment Offload)" feature provided by the Hip06 ethernet hardware to the HNS ethernet driver. Enabling this feature would help offload the TCP Segmentation process to the Hip06 ethernet hardware. This eventually would help in saving precious cpu cycles. 2015-12-04net:hns: Add support of Hip06 SoC to the Hislicon Network SubsystemSalil
This patchset adds support of Hisilicon Hip06 SoC to the existing HNS ethernet driver. The changes in the driver are mainly due to changes in the DMA descriptor provided by the Hip06 ethernet hardware. These changes need to co-exist with already present Hip05 DMA descriptor and its operating functions. The decision to choose the correct type of DMA descriptor is taken dynamically depending upon the version of the hardware (i.e. V1/hip05 or V2/hip06, see already existing hisilicon-hns-nic.txt binding file for detailed description). other changes includes in SBM, DSAF and PPE modules as well. Changes affecting the driver related to the newly added ethernet hardware features in Hip06 would be added as separate patch over this and subsequent patches. 2015-10-18net: hns: fixes a bug about timeout by pause framelisheng
this patch fixes the bug triggered timeout sequence. when the connective ports cannot accept the packets with higher speed, they will send out the pause frame to the Soc's mac. At that time, the driver resets the relevant of the Soc, then it causes the packets cannot be sent out immediately. this patch fixes the issue.
