2019-03-26igb: Fix WARN_ONCE on runtime suspendArvind Sankar
The runtime_suspend device callbacks are not supposed to save configuration state or change the power state. Commit fb29f76cc566 ("igb: Fix an issue that PME is not enabled during runtime suspend") changed the driver to not save configuration state during runtime suspend, however the driver callback still put the device into a low-power state. This causes a warning in the pci pm core and results in pci_pm_runtime_suspend not calling pci_save_state or pci_finish_runtime_suspend. Fix this by not changing the power state either, leaving that to pci pm core, and make the same change for suspend callback as well. Also move a couple of defines into the appropriate header file instead of inline in the .c file. 2018-12-20igb: Change RXPBSIZE size when setting Qav modeJesus Sanchez-Palencia
Section 4.5.9 of the datasheet says that the total size of all packet buffers combined (TxPB 0 + 1 + 2 + 3 + RxPB + BMC2OS + OS2BMC) must not exceed 60KB. Today we are configuring a total of 62KB, so reduce the RxPB from 32KB to 30KB in order to respect that. The choice of changing RxPBSIZE here is mainly because it seems more correct to give more priority to the transmit packet buffers over the receiver ones when running in Qav mode. Also, the BMC2OS and OS2BMC sizes are already too short. 2018-07-04igb: Add support for ETF offloadJesus Sanchez-Palencia
Implement HW offload support for SO_TXTIME through igb's Launchtime feature. This is done by extending igb_setup_tc() so it supports TC_SETUP_QDISC_ETF and configuring i210 so time based transmit arbitration is enabled. The FQTSS transmission mode added before is extended so strict priority (SP) queues wait for stream reservation (SR) ones. igb_config_tx_modes() is extended so it can support enabling/disabling Launchtime following the previous approach used for the credit-based shaper (CBS). As the previous flow, FQTSS transmission mode is enabled automatically by the driver once Launchtime (or CBS, as before) is enabled. Similarly, it's automatically disabled when the feature is disabled for the last queue that had it setup on. The driver just consumes the transmit times from the skbuffs directly, so no special handling is done in case an 'invalid' time is provided. We assume this has been handled by the ETF qdisc already. 2018-04-25igb: Add support for enabling queue steering in filtersVinicius Costa Gomes
On some igb models (82575 and i210) the MAC address filters can control to which queue the packet will be assigned. This extends the 'state' with one more state to signify that queue selection should be enabled for that filter. As 82575 parts are no longer easily obtained (and this was developed against i210), only support for the i210 model is enabled. These functions are exported and will be used in the next patch. 2017-10-27igb: Add support for CBS offloadAndre Guedes
This patch adds support for Credit-Based Shaper (CBS) qdisc offload from Traffic Control system. This support enable us to leverage the Forwarding and Queuing for Time-Sensitive Streams (FQTSS) features from Intel i210 Ethernet Controller. FQTSS is the former 802.1Qav standard which was merged into 802.1Q in 2014. It enables traffic prioritization and bandwidth reservation via the Credit-Based Shaper which is implemented in hardware by i210 controller. The patch introduces the igb_setup_tc() function which implements the support for CBS qdisc hardware offload in the IGB driver. CBS offload is the only traffic control offload supported by the driver at the moment. FQTSS transmission mode from i210 controller is automatically enabled by the IGB driver when the CBS is enabled for the first hardware queue. Likewise, FQTSS mode is automatically disabled when CBS is disabled for the last hardware queue. Changing FQTSS mode requires NIC reset. FQTSS feature is supported by i210 controller only. 2017-04-20igb: Enable reading of wake up packetKim Tatt Chuah
Currently, in igb_resume(), igb driver ignores the Wake Up Status (WUS) and Wake Up Packet Memory (WUPM) registers. This patch enables the igb driver to read the WUPM if the controller was woken by a wake up packet that is not more than 128 bytes long (maximum WUPM size), then pass it up the kernel network stack. 2016-02-15igb: Allow asymmetric configuration of MTU versus Rx frame sizeAlexander Duyck
Since the igb driver is using page based receive there is no point in limiting the Rx capabilities of the device. The driver can receive 9K jumbo frames at all times. The only changes needed due to MTU changes are updates for the FIFO sizes and flow-control watermarks. Update the maximum frame size to reflect the 9.5K limitation of the hardware, and replace all instances of max_frame_size with MAX_JUMBO_FRAME_SIZE when referring to an Rx FIFO or frame. On some devices, the internal PLL circuit occasionally provides the wrong clock frequency after power up. The probability of failure is less than one failure per 1000 power cycles. 2013-12-10igb: Add new feature Media Auto Sense for 82580 devices onlyCarolyn Wyborny
This patch adds support for the hardware feature Media Auto Sense. This feature requires a custom EEPROM image provided by our customer support team. The feature allows hardware designed with dual PHY's, fiber and copper to be used with either media without additional EEPROM changes. Fiber is preferred and driver will swap and configure for fiber media if sensed by the device at any time. Device will swap back to copper if it is the only media detected. 2013-12-10igb: Add media switching feature for i354 PHY'sCarolyn Wyborny
This patch adds a new feature which is supported in some PHY's on some i354 devices. This feature is Auto Media Detect and allows which ever media is detected first by the PHY to be the media used and configured by the device. Current implementation enables EEE on only i350 device. This patch enables EEE on all eee_supported devices. Also, configured LPI clock to keep running before EEE is enabled on i210 and i211 devices. 2012-09-17igb: Prevent dropped Tx timestamps via work items and interrupts.Matthew Vick
In rare circumstances, it's possible a descriptor writeback will occur before a timestamped Tx packet will go out on the wire, leading to the driver believing the hardware failed to timestamp the packet. Schedule a work item for 82576 and use the available time sync interrupt registers on 82580 and above to account for this. Under certain scenarios, it's possible that bursty manageability traffic over the BMC-to-OS path may overrun the internal manageability receive buffer causing dropped manageability packets. Clearing this bit prevents this situation by interrupting coalescing to allow manageability traffic through. On i350 when traffic is looped back from a VF to the PF the value is byte swapped from the normal format. In order to address this we need to add a flag indicating that the ring will need to byte swap the loopback packets prior to processing them.
