2020-03-24net/mlx5e: Fix ICOSQ recovery flow with Striding RQAya Levin
In striding RQ mode, the buffers of an RX WQE are first prepared and posted to the HW using a UMR WQEs via the ICOSQ. We maintain the state of these in-progress WQEs in the RQ SW struct. In the flow of ICOSQ recovery, the corresponding RQ is not in error state, hence: - The buffers of the in-progress WQEs must be released and the RQ metadata should reflect it. - Existing RX WQEs in the RQ should not be affected. For this, wrap the dealloc of the in-progress WQEs in a function, and use it in the ICOSQ recovery flow instead of mlx5e_free_rx_descs(). 2020-03-17net/mlx5e: Fix devlink port register sequenceVladyslav Tarasiuk
If udevd is configured to rename interfaces according to persistent naming rules and if a network interface has phys_port_name in sysfs, its contents will be appended to the interface name. However, register_netdev creates device in sysfs and if devlink_port_register is called after that, there is a timeframe in which udevd may read an empty phys_port_name value. The consequence is that the interface will lose this suffix and its name will not be really persistent. The solution is to register the port before registering a netdev. The current code causes problems when the unregistering netdevice could be different then the registering one. 2020-02-25net/mlx5e: Add context to the preactivate hookMaxim Mikityanskiy
Sometimes the preactivate hook of mlx5e_safe_switch_channels needs more parameters than just struct mlx5e_priv *. For such cases, a new parameter (void *context) is added to preactivate hooks. Some of the existing normal functions are currently used as preactivate callbacks. To avoid adding an extra unused parameter, they are wrapped in an automatic way using the MLX5E_DEFINE_PREACTIVATE_WRAPPER_CTX macro. 2020-02-25net/mlx5e: Allow mlx5e_switch_priv_channels to fail and recoverMaxim Mikityanskiy
Currently mlx5e_switch_priv_channels expects that the preactivate hook doesn't fail, however, it can fail, because it may set hardware parameters. This commit addresses this issue and provides a way to recover from failures of the preactivate hook: the old channels are not closed until the point where nothing can fail anymore, so in case preactivate fails, the driver can roll back the old channels and activate them again. 2020-02-25net/mlx5e: Fix configuration of XPS cpumasks and netdev queues in corner casesMaxim Mikityanskiy
Currently, mlx5e notifies the kernel about the number of queues and sets the default XPS cpumasks when channels are activated. This implementation has several corner cases, in which the kernel may not be updated on time, or XPS cpumasks may be reset when not directly touched by the user. This commit fixes these corner cases to match the following expected behavior: 1. The number of queues always corresponds to the number of channels configured. 2. XPS cpumasks are set to driver's defaults on netdev attach. 3. XPS cpumasks set by user are not reset, unless the number of channels changes. If the number of channels changes, they are reset to driver's defaults. (In general case, when the number of channels increases or decreases, it's not possible to guess how to convert the current XPS cpumasks to work with the new number of channels, so we let the user reconfigure it if they change the number of channels.) XPS cpumasks are no longer stored per channel. Only one temporary cpumask is used. The old stored cpumasks didn't reflect the user's changes and were not used after applying them. A scratchpad area is added to struct mlx5e_priv. As cpumask_var_t requires allocation, and the preactivate hook can't fail, we need to preallocate the temporary cpumask in advance. It's stored in the scratchpad. 2020-02-25net/mlx5e: Use preactivate hook to set the indirection tableMaxim Mikityanskiy
mlx5e_ethtool_set_channels updates the indirection table before switching to the new channels. If the switch fails, the indirection table is new, but the channels are old, which is wrong. Fix it by using the preactivate hook of mlx5e_safe_switch_channels to update the indirection table at the stage when nothing can fail anymore. As the code that updates the indirection table is now encapsulated into a new function, use that function in the attach flow when the driver has to reduce the number of channels, and prepare the code for the next commit. 2020-02-25net/mlx5e: Rename hw_modify to preactivateMaxim Mikityanskiy
mlx5e_safe_switch_channels accepts a callback to be called before activating new channels. It is intended to configure some hardware parameters in cases where channels are recreated because some configuration has changed. Recently, this callback has started being used to update the driver's internal MLX5E_STATE_XDP_OPEN flag, and the following patches also intend to use this callback for software preparations. This patch renames the hw_modify callback to preactivate, so that the name fits better. 2020-01-07net/mlx5: Increase the max number of channels to 128Fan Li
Currently the max number of channels is limited to 64, which is half of the indirection table size to allow some flexibility. 2019-12-05net/mlx5e: Fix TXQ indices to be sequentialEran Ben Elisha
Cited patch changed (channel index, tc) => (TXQ index) mapping to be a static one, in order to keep indices consistent when changing number of channels or TCs. For 32 channels (OOB) and 8 TCs, real num of TXQs is 256. When reducing the amount of channels to 8, the real num of TXQs will be changed to 64. This indices method is buggy: - Channel #0, TC 3, the TXQ index is 96. - Index 8 is not valid, as there is no such TXQ from driver perspective (As it represents channel #8, TC 0, which is not valid with the above configuration). As part of driver's select queue, it calls netdev_pick_tx which returns an index in the range of real number of TXQs. Depends on the return value, with the examples above, driver could have returned index larger than the real number of tx queues, or crash the kernel as it tries to read invalid address of SQ which was not allocated. Fix that by allocating sequential TXQ indices, and hold a new mapping between (channel index, tc) => (real TXQ index). This mapping will be updated as part of priv channels activation, and is used in mlx5e_select_queue to find the selected queue index. The existing indices mapping (channel_tc2txq) is no longer needed, as it is used only for statistics structures and can be calculated on run time. Delete its definintion and updates. Daniel Borkmann says: ==================== The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree. The main changes are: 1) Add the ability to use unaligned chunks in the AF_XDP umem. 2019-08-30net/mlx5e: Move local var definition into ifdef blockVlad Buslov
New local variable "struct flow_block_offload *f" was added to mlx5e_setup_tc() in recent rtnl lock removal patches. The variable is used in code that is only compiled when CONFIG_MLX5_ESWITCH is enabled. This results compilation warning about unused variable when CONFIG_MLX5_ESWITCH is not set. Move the variable definition into eswitch-specific code block from the beginning of mlx5e_setup_tc() function. 2019-08-28net/mlx5e: Support LAG TX port affinity distributionMaxim Mikityanskiy
When the VF LAG is in use, round-robin the TX affinity of channels among the different ports, if supported by the firmware. Create a set of TISes per port, while doing round-robin of the channels over the different sets. Let all SQs of a channel share the same set of TISes. If lag_tx_port_affinity HCA cap bit is supported, num_lag_ports > 1 and we aren't the LACP owner (PF in the regular use), assign the affinities, otherwise use tx_affinity == 0 in TIS context to let the FW assign the affinities itself. The TISes of the LACP owner are mapped only to the native physical port. For VFs, the starting port for round-robin is determined by its vhca_id, because a VF may have only one channel if attached to a single-core VM. 2019-08-26net: sched: add API for registering unlocked offload block callbacksVlad Buslov
Extend struct flow_block_offload with "unlocked_driver_cb" flag to allow registering and unregistering block hardware offload callbacks that do not require caller to hold rtnl lock. Extend tcf_block with additional lockeddevcnt counter that is incremented for each non-unlocked driver callback attached to device. This counter is necessary to conditionally obtain rtnl lock before calling hardware callbacks in following patches. Register mlx5 tc block offload callbacks as "unlocked". 2019-08-22net/mlx5e: Add mlx5e HV VHCA stats agentEran Ben Elisha
HV VHCA stats agent is responsible on running a preiodic rx/tx packets/bytes stats update. Currently the supported format is version MLX5_HV_VHCA_STATS_VERSION. Block ID 1 is dedicated for statistics data transfer from the VF to the PF. The reporter fetch the statistics data from all opened channels, fill it in a buffer and send it to mlx5_hv_vhca_write_agent. As the stats layer should include some metadata per block (sequence and offset), the HV VHCA layer shall modify the buffer before actually send it over block 1.
