2020-01-15mlxsw: spectrum_qdisc: Include MC TCs in Qdisc countersPetr Machata
mlxsw configures Spectrum in such a way that BUM traffic is passed not through its nominal traffic class TC, but through its MC counterpart TC+8. However, when collecting statistics, Qdiscs only look at the nominal TC and ignore the MC TC. Add two helpers to compute the value for logical TC from the constituents, one for backlog, the other for tail drops. Use them throughout instead of going through the xstats pointer directly. Counters for TX bytes and packets are deduced from packet priority counters, and therefore already include BUM traffic. wred_drop counter is irrelevant on MC TCs, because RED is not enabled on them. 2020-01-08mlxsw: spectrum_qdisc: Ignore grafting of invisible FIFOPetr Machata
The following patch will change PRIO to replace a removed Qdisc with an invisible FIFO, instead of NOOP. mlxsw will see this replacement due to the graft message that is generated. But because FIFO does not issue its own REPLACE message, when the graft operation takes place, the Qdisc that mlxsw tracks under the indicated band is still the old one. The child handle (0:0) therefore does not match, and mlxsw rejects the graft operation, which leads to an extack message: Warning: Offloading graft operation failed. Fix by ignoring the invisible children in the PRIO graft handler. The DESTROY message of the removed Qdisc is going to follow shortly and handle the removal. 2019-10-23mlxsw: spectrum: Use guaranteed buffer size as pool size limitPetr Machata
There are two resources associated with shared buffer size: cap_total_buffer_size, and cap_guaranteed_shared_buffer. So far, mlxsw has been using the former as a limit to determine how large a pool size is allowed to be. However, the total size also includes headrooms and reserved space, which really cannot be used for shared buffer pools. Therefore convert mlxsw to use the latter resource as a limit. Adjust hard-coded pool sizes to be the guaranteed size minus 256000 bytes for CPU port pool. On Spectrum-1 that actually leads to an increase. The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. 2018-02-28mlxsw: spectrum: qdiscs: prio: Delete child qdiscs when removing bandsNogah Frankel
When the number the bands of sch_prio is decreased, child qdiscs on the deleted bands would get deleted as well. This change and deletions are being done under sch_tree_lock of the sch_prio qdisc. Part of the destruction of qdisc is unoffloading it, if it is offloaded. Un-offloading can't be done inside this lock. Move the offload command to be done before reducing the number of bands, so unoffloading of the qdiscs that are about to be deleted could be done outside of the lock. 2018-02-28mlxsw: spectrum: qdiscs: Update backlog handling of a child qdiscsNogah Frankel
When removing a child qdisc its backlog will be decreased from the parent backlog. The driver backlog count should do the same. When the parent changes its configuration, the child might need to clean its stats. However, the backlog can't be cleaned with the rest of the stats, because it reflects a momentary value that needs to be synced with the core, not the history of the qdisc. 2018-02-28mlxsw: spectrum: qdiscs: Collect stats for sch_red based on priomapNogah Frankel
Priority counters count packets according to their packet priority. Collect the stats for sch_red based on these counters, so the qdisc bstats will be the sum of counters matching the priorities marked in the qdisc priomap. Changing the mapping of the priorities to bands while traffic is running can result in losing the stats of the bands qdiscs from their last dump call to this change, as if the qdisc was unoffloaded and re-offloaded. It will not affect the traffic behaviour according to sch_red. Commit 0dfb33a0d7e2 ("sch_red: report backlog information") copied child's backlog into RED's backlog. Back then RED did not maintain its own backlog counts. This has changed after commit 2ccccf5fb43f ("net_sched: update hierarchical backlog too") and commit d7f4f332f082 ("sch_red: update backlog as well"). Copying is no longer necessary. Support basic stats for PRIO qdisc, which includes tx packets and bytes count, drops count and backlog size. The rest of the stats are irrelevant for this qdisc offload. Since backlog is not only incremental but reflecting momentary value, in case of a qdisc that stops being offloaded but is not destroyed, backlog value needs to be updated about the un-offloading. For that reason an unoffload function is being added to the ops struct. Add support for offloading PRIO qdisc as root qdisc. The support is for up to 8 bands. Routed packets priority is determined by the DSCP field with the default translations. Bridged packets priority is determined by the PCP field, if exist, otherwise it is set to 0. Since both options have only priorities 0-7, higher priorities mapping are being ignored. BPF alignment tests got a conflict because the registers are output as Rn_w instead of just Rn in net-next, and in net a fixup for a testcase prohibits logical operations on pointers before using them. Every qdisc op gets the qdisc handle ID as well as its location. Each one of them, beside replace, checks if the handle doesn't match the qdisc in the given location, and if so, it returns without running the actual op. Unite these checks to one comparison function and avoid sending the handle id to these ops. Change the value of the xstats requested from the driver for offloaded RED to be incremental, like the normal stats. It increases consistency - if a qdisc stops being offloaded its xstats don't change. Add support for ndo_setup_tc with enum tc_setup_type value of TC_SETUP_QDISC_STATS. This call updates the generic qdisc stats from the cache if the handle ID that is asked for matching the root qdisc ID and fails otherwise. Currently doesn't support qlen and rqueues. Add support for ndo_setup_tc with enum tc_setup_type value of TC_SETUP_RED. This call sets RED qdisc on a traffic class. This patch supports RED qdisc only as a root qdisc and set in on the default tclass. It can be set with or without ECN.
