2022-07-05eth: remove neterion/vxgeJakub Kicinski
The last meaningful change to this driver was made by Jon in 2011. As much as we'd like to believe that this is because the code is perfect the chances are nobody is using this hardware. Because of the size of this driver there is a nontrivial maintenance cost to keeping this code around, in the last 2 years we're averaging more than 1 change a month. Some of which require nontrivial review effort, see commit 877fe9d49b74 ("Revert "drivers/net/ethernet/neterion/vxge: Fix a use-after-free bug in vxge-main.c"") for example. Let's try to remove this driver. In general, IMHO, we need to establish a clear path for shedding dead code. It will be hard to unless we have some experience trying to delete stuff. 2022-04-29eth: vxge: remove a copy of the NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT defineJakub Kicinski
Defining local versions of NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT with the same values in the drivers just makes refactoring harder. Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-04-22vxge: avoid -Wemtpy-body warningsArnd Bergmann
There are a few warnings about empty debug macros in this driver: drivers/net/ethernet/neterion/vxge/vxge-main.c: In function 'vxge_probe': drivers/net/ethernet/neterion/vxge/vxge-main.c:4480:76: error: suggest braces around empty body in an 'if' statement [-Werror=empty-body] 4480 | "Failed in enabling SRIOV mode: %d\n", ret); Change them to proper 'do { } while (0)' expressions to make the code a little more robust and avoid the warnings. 2020-03-16net: vxge: fix wrong __VA_ARGS__ usageZheng Wei
printk in macro vxge_debug_ll uses __VA_ARGS__ without "##" prefix, it causes a build error when there is no variable arguments(e.g. only fmt is specified.). Signed-off-by: Zheng Wei <wei.zheng@vivo.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-10-18net: vxge: Convert timers to use timer_setup()Kees Cook
In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer() to pass the timer pointer explicitly.
