2023-10-07ieee802154: ca8210: Fix a potential UAF in ca8210_probeDinghao Liu
If of_clk_add_provider() fails in ca8210_register_ext_clock(), it calls clk_unregister() to release priv->clk and returns an error. However, the caller ca8210_probe() then calls ca8210_remove(), where priv->clk is freed again in ca8210_unregister_ext_clock(). In this case, a use-after-free may happen in the second time we call clk_unregister(). Fix this by removing the first clk_unregister(). Also, priv->clk could be an error code on failure of clk_register_fixed_rate(). Use IS_ERR_OR_NULL to catch this case in ca8210_unregister_ext_clock(). 2023-07-27net: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. There is no gpiod_export() and gpiod_unexport() looks pretty much stray. The gpiod_export() and gpiod_unexport() shouldn't be used in the code, GPIO sysfs is deprecated. That said, simply drop the stray call. But changing the type of these members to array would break the spi driver functionality. To make the transition smoother introduced four new APIs to get/set the spi->chip_select & spi->cs_gpiod and replaced all spi->chip_select and spi->cs_gpiod references with get or set API calls. While adding multi-cs support in further patches the chip_select & cs_gpiod members of the spi_device structure would be converted to arrays & the "idx" parameter of the APIs would be used as array index i.e., spi->chip_select[idx] & spi->cs_gpiod[idx] respectively. 2022-11-29ca8210: Fix crash by zero initializing dataHauke Mehrtens
The struct cas_control embeds multiple generic SPI structures and we have to make sure these structures are initialized to default values. This driver does not set all attributes. When using kmalloc before some attributes were not initialized and contained random data which caused random crashes at bootup. 2022-02-10net: mac802154: Convert the symbol duration into nanosecondsMiquel Raynal
Tdsym is often given in the spec as pretty small numbers in microseconds and hence was reflected in the code as symbol_duration and was stored as a u8. Actually, for UWB PHYs, the symbol duration is given in nanoseconds and are as precise as picoseconds. In order to handle better these PHYs, change the type of symbol_duration to u32 and store this value in nanoseconds. All the users of this variable are updated in a mechanical way. 2022-02-09spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. In a recent change to the SPI subsystem [1], a new `delay` struct was added to replace the `delay_usecs`. This change replaces the current `delay_usecs` with `delay` for this driver. In ca8210_test_int_user_write() a user can request the transfer of a frame with a length field (command.length) that is longer than the actual buffer provided (len). In this scenario the driver will copy the buffer contents into the uninitialised command[] buffer, then transfer <data.length> bytes over the SPI even though only <len> bytes had been populated, potentially leaking sensitive kernel memory. Also the first 6 bytes of the command buffer must be initialised in case a malformed, short packet is written and the uninitialised bytes are read in ca8210_test_check_upstream. For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.
