2014-05-21 | ieee802154: Introduce the use of the managed version of kzalloc | Himangi Saraogi
This patch moves data allocated using kzalloc to managed data allocated using devm_kzalloc and cleans now unnecessary kfrees in probe and remove functions. An explicit linux/device.h include is added to make sure the devm_*() routine declarations are unambiguously available. The following Coccinelle semantic patch was used for making the change: @platform@ identifier p, probefn, removefn; @@ struct platform_driver p = { .probe = probefn, .remove = removefn, }; @prb@ identifier platform.probefn, pdev; expression e, e1, e2; @@ probefn(struct platform_device *pdev, ...) { <+... - e = kzalloc(e1, e2) + e = devm_kzalloc(&pdev->dev, e1, e2) ... ?-kfree(e); ...+> } @rem depends on prb@ identifier platform.removefn; expression e; @@ removefn(...) { <... - kfree(e); ...> } Signed-off-by: Himangi Saraogi <himangi774@gmail.com> Acked-by: Julia Lawall <julia.lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-12-03 | ieee802154: remove __dev* attributes | Bill Pemberton
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As result the __dev* markings will be going away. Remove use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit. Signed-off-by: Bill Pemberton <wfp5p@virginia.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-08-30 | drivers/ieee802154: move ieee802154 drivers to net folder | alex.bluesman.smirnov@gmail.com
The IEEE 802.15.4 standard represents a networking protocol. I don't exactly know why drivers for this protocol are stored into the root 'driver' folder, but better will be to store them with other networking stuff. Currently there are only 3 drivers available for IEEE 802.15.4 stack, so lets do it now with the smallest overhead.
