2021-11-01netdevsim: move vfconfig to nsim_devJakub Kicinski
When netdevsim got split into the faux bus vfconfig ended up in the bus device (think pci_dev) which is strange because it contains very networky not to say netdevy information. Move it to nsim_dev, which is the driver "priv" structure for the device. To make sure we don't race with probe/remove take the device lock (much like PCI). While at it remove the NULL-checking of vfconfigs. It appears to be pointless. Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2021-07-16netdevsim: Add multi-queue supportPeilin Ye
Currently netdevsim only supports a single queue per port, which is insufficient for testing multi-queue TC schedulers e.g. sch_mq. Extend the current sysfs interface so that users can create ports with multiple queues: $ echo "[ID] [PORT_COUNT] [NUM_QUEUES]" > /sys/bus/netdevsim/new_device As an example, echoing "2 4 8" creates 4 ports, with 8 queues per port. Note, this is compatible with the current interface, with default number of queues set to 1. For example, echoing "2 4" creates 4 ports with 1 queue per port; echoing "2" simply creates 1 port with 1 queue. 2021-06-02netdevsim: Implement legacy/switchdev mode for VFsDmytro Linkin
Implement callbacks to set/get eswitch mode value. Add helpers to check current mode. Instantiate VFs' net devices and devlink ports on switchdev enabling and remove them on legacy enabling. Changing number of VFs while in switchdev mode triggers VFs creation/deletion. Also disable NDO API callback to set VF rate, since it's legacy API. Switchdev API to set VF rate will be implemented in one of the next patches. Signed-off-by: Dmytro Linkin <dlinkin@nvidia.com> Reviewed-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-07-25Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/netDavid S. Miller
The UDP reuseport conflict was a little bit tricky. The net-next code, via bpf-next, extracted the reuseport handling into a helper so that the BPF sk lookup code could invoke it. At the same time, the logic for reuseport handling of unconnected sockets changed via commit efc6b6f6c3113e8b203b9debfb72d81e0f3dcace which changed the logic to carry on the reuseport result into the rest of the lookup loop if we do not return immediately. This requires moving the reuseport_has_conns() logic into the callers. While we are here, get rid of inline directives as they do not belong in foo.c files. The other changes were cases of more straightforward overlapping modifications. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2019-10-04netdevsim: change fib accounting and limitations to be per-deviceJiri Pirko
Currently, the accounting is done per-namespace. However, devlink instance is always in init_net namespace for now, so only the accounting related to init_net is used. Limitations set using devlink resources are only considered for init_net. nsim_devlink_net() always returns init_net always. Make the accounting per-device. This brings no functional change. Per-device accounting has the same values as per-net. For a single netdevsim instance, the behaviour is exactly the same as before. When multiple netdevsim instances are created, each can have different limits. This is in prepare to implement proper devlink netns support. After that, the devlink instance which would exist in particular netns would account and limit that netns. 2019-07-09net: flow_offload: add flow_block_cb_setup_simple()Pablo Neira Ayuso
Most drivers do the same thing to set up the flow block callbacks, this patch adds a helper function to do this. This preparation patch reduces the number of changes to adapt the existing drivers to use the flow block callback API. This new helper function takes a flow block list per-driver, which is set to NULL until this driver list is used. This patch also introduces the flow_block_command and flow_block_binder_type enumerations, which are renamed to use FLOW_BLOCK_* in follow up patches. There are three definitions (aliases) in order to reduce the number of updates in this patch, which go away once drivers are fully adapted to use this flow block API. Pass the extact struct from a tc qdisc add to the block bind function and, in turn, to the setup_tc ndo of binding device via the tc_block_offload struct. Pass this back to any block callback registrations to allow netlink logging of fails in the bind process. 2018-03-29netdevsim: Add simple FIB resource controller via devlinkDavid Ahern
Add devlink support to netdevsim and use it to implement a simple, profile based resource controller. Only one controller is needed per namespace, so the first netdevsim netdevice in a namespace registers with devlink. If that device is deleted, the resource settings are deleted. The resource controller allows a user to limit the number of IPv4 and IPv6 FIB entries and FIB rules. The resource paths are: /IPv4 /IPv4/fib /IPv4/fib-rules /IPv6 /IPv6/fib /IPv6/fib-rules The IPv4 and IPv6 top level resources are unlimited in size and can not be changed. From there, the number of FIB entries and FIB rule entries are unlimited by default. A user can specify a limit for the fib and fib-rules resources: $ devlink resource set netdevsim/netdevsim0 path /IPv4/fib size 96 $ devlink resource set netdevsim/netdevsim0 path /IPv4/fib-rules size 16 $ devlink resource set netdevsim/netdevsim0 path /IPv6/fib size 64 $ devlink resource set netdevsim/netdevsim0 path /IPv6/fib-rules size 16 $ devlink dev reload netdevsim/netdevsim0 such that the number of rules or routes is limited (96 ipv4 routes in the example above): $ for n in $(seq 1 32); do ip ro add 10.99.$n.0/24 dev eth1; done Error: netdevsim: Exceeded number of supported fib entries. $ devlink resource show netdevsim/netdevsim0 netdevsim/netdevsim0: name IPv4 size unlimited unit entry size_min 0 size_max unlimited size_gran 1 dpipe_tables non resources: name fib size 96 occ 96 unit entry size_min 0 size_max unlimited size_gran 1 dpipe_tables ... With this template in place for resource management, it is fairly trivial to extend and shows one way to implement a simple counter based resource controller typical of network profiles. Currently, devlink only supports initial namespace. Code is in place to adapt netdevsim to a per namespace controller once the network namespace issues are resolved. 2017-12-03netdevsim: add SR-IOV functionalityJakub Kicinski
dummy driver was extended with VF-related netdev APIs for testing SR-IOV-related software. netdevsim did not exist back then. Implement SR-IOV functionality in netdevsim. Notable difference is that since netdevsim has no module parameters, we will actually create a device with sriov_numvfs attribute for each netdev. The zero MAC address is accepted as some HW use it to mean any address is allowed. Link state is also now validated. 2017-12-03netdevsim: add software driver for testing offloadsJakub Kicinski
To be able to run selftests without any hardware required we need a software model. The model can also serve as an example implementation for those implementing actual HW offloads. The dummy driver have previously been extended to test SR-IOV, but the general consensus seems to be against adding further features to it. Add a new driver for purposes of software modelling only. eBPF and SR-IOV will be added here shortly, others are invited to further extend the driver with their offload models.
