2019-08-18net: kalmia: fix memory leaksWenwen Wang
In kalmia_init_and_get_ethernet_addr(), 'usb_buf' is allocated through kmalloc(). In the following execution, if the 'status' returned by kalmia_send_init_packet() is not 0, 'usb_buf' is not deallocated, leading to memory leaks. To fix this issue, add the 'out' label to free 'usb_buf'. Signed-off-by: Wenwen Wang <wenwen@cs.uga.edu> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2018-03-07net: kalmia: clean up bind error pathJohan Hovold
Drop bogus call to usb_driver_release_interface() from an error path in the usbnet bind() callback, which is called during interface probe. At this point the interface is not bound and usb_driver_release_interface() returns early. Also remove the bogus call to clear the interface data, which is owned by the usbnet driver and would not even have been set by the time bind() is called. 2018-03-02net/usb/kalmia: use ARRAY_SIZE for various array sizing calculationsColin Ian King
Use the ARRAY_SIZE macro on a couple of arrays to determine size of the arrays. Also fix up alignment to clean up a checkpatch warning. Improvement suggested by Coccinelle. Signed-off-by: Colin Ian King <colin.king@canonical.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-06-16networking: convert many more places to skb_put_zero()Johannes Berg
There were many places that my previous spatch didn't find, as pointed out by yuan linyu in various patches. The following spatch found many more and also removes the now unnecessary casts: @@ identifier p, p2; expression len; expression skb; type t, t2; @@ ( -p = skb_put(skb, len); +p = skb_put_zero(skb, len); | -p = (t)skb_put(skb, len); +p = skb_put_zero(skb, len); ) ... when != p ( p2 = (t2)p; -memset(p2, 0, len); | -memset(p, 0, len); ) @@ type t, t2; identifier p, p2; expression skb; @@ t *p; ... 2016-10-27kalmia: avoid potential uninitialized variable useArnd Bergmann
The kalmia_send_init_packet() returns zero or a negative return code, but gcc has no way of knowing that there cannot be a positive return code, so it determines that copying the ethernet address at the end of kalmia_bind() will access uninitialized data: drivers/net/usb/kalmia.c: In function ‘kalmia_bind’: arch/x86/include/asm/string_32.h:78:22: error: ‘*((void *)&ethernet_addr+4)’ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] *((short *)to + 2) = *((short *)from + 2); ^ drivers/net/usb/kalmia.c:138:5: note: ‘*((void *)&ethernet_addr+4)’ was declared here This warning is harmless, but for consistency, we should make the check for the return code match what the driver does everywhere else and just progate it, which then gets rid of the warning. 2014-01-16drivers/net: delete non-required instances of include <linux/init.h>Paul Gortmaker
None of these files are actually using any __init type directives and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to code getting copied from one driver to the next. This covers everything under drivers/net except for wireless, which has been submitted separately. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2012-05-18USB: Disable hub-initiated LPM for comms devices.Sarah Sharp
Hub-initiated LPM is not good for USB communications devices. Comms devices should be able to tell when their link can go into a lower power state, because they know when an incoming transmission is finished. Ideally, these devices would slam their links into a lower power state, using the device-initiated LPM, after finishing the last packet of their data transfer. If we enable the idle timeouts for the parent hubs to enable hub-initiated LPM, we will get a lot of useless LPM packets on the bus as the devices reject LPM transitions when they're in the middle of receiving data. Worse, some devices might blindly accept the hub-initiated LPM and power down their radios while they're in the middle of receiving a transmission. The Intel Windows folks are disabling hub-initiated LPM for all USB communications devices under a xHCI USB 3.0 host. In order to keep the Linux behavior as close as possible to Windows, we need to do the same in Linux. Set the disable_hub_initiated_lpm flag for for all USB communications drivers. I know there aren't currently any USB 3.0 devices that implement these class specifications, but we should be ready if they do. 2011-11-18USB: convert drivers/net/* to use module_usb_driver()Greg Kroah-Hartman
This converts the drivers in drivers/net/* to use the module_usb_driver() macro which makes the code smaller and a bit simpler. Added bonus is that it removes some unneeded kernel log messages about drivers loading and/or unloading. 2011-06-16net/usb: Add Samsung Kalmia driver for Samsung GT-B3730Marius B. Kotsbak
Introducing driver for the network port of Samsung Kalmia based USB LTE modems. It has also an ACM interface that previous patches associates with the "option" module. To access those interfaces, the modem must first be switched from modem mode using a tool like usb_modeswitch. As the proprietary protocol has been discovered by watching the MS Windows driver behavior, there might be errors in the protocol handling, but stable and fast connection has been established for hours with Norwegian operator NetCom that distributes this modem with their LTE/4G subscription. More and updated information about how to use this driver is available here: http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/bb/viewtopic.php?t=465 https://github.com/mkotsbak/Samsung-GT-B3730-linux-driver Signed-off-by: Marius B.
