2017-03-24iwlwifi: mvm: support ibss in dqa modeLiad Kaufman
Allow working IBSS also when working in DQA mode. This is done by setting it to treat the queues the same as a BSS AP treats the queues. Support new version of beacon template command which deprecates the use of the tx command inside. Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@intel.com>
2017-02-06iwlwifi: mvm: release static queues on bcast releaseLiad Kaufman
A few of the static queues are enabled along with the bcast STA. Make sure they are removed along with it, rather than waiting for the mac ctxt release. This is needed because we sometimes have a STA being removed and then added again (either with the same sta_id or a different one). If we wait for the mac ctxt release we will try to allocate the queues again (as this is currently done in the STA allocation and not in the MAC init) although they weren't freed, and even if the sta_id of the STA has changed. 2017-01-26iwlwifi: mvm: support version 2 of stored beacon notificationSara Sharon
For 9000 devices withg upload, FW cannot send the entire phy flags, and will send only the band - which is what we really care about anyway. Change is backward compatible. Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@intel.com>
2016-10-19iwlwifi: mvm: assign cab queue to the correct stationSara Sharon
Currently when configuring the cab queue the scheduler is configured without station id - which results in station id 0. In DQA mode this causes firmware to assert later on when the actual station 0 is added with an empty tfd_queue_mask. Fix that by configuring the queue to the broadcast station. This is a bit trickier since the queue should not be included in the tfd_queue_mask of the ADD_STA since it is a multicast queue, and the tfd_queue_mask is only unicast queue. As a result the queue should be enabled only after the broadcast station is added. Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@intel.com>
2016-10-19iwlwifi: mvm: support MONITOR vif in DQA modeLiad Kaufman
In DQA mode the TXQs are allocated on demand, so make sure the sniffer STA tfd_queue_msk isn't set. Signed-off-by: Liad Kaufman <liad.kaufman@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@intel.com>
2016-09-19iwlwifi: mvm: move AP-specific code to right functionJohannes Berg
There's no need for the common MAC context function to have an if on AP mode, the values can be overridden in the AP-specific function later. Clean that up by adding the full command as a new parameter to the AP-specific function, and doing it there. 2016-09-19iwlwifi: mvm: disable P2P queue on mac context releaseSara Sharon
AP queue is properly released, but P2P queue isn't. Fixes: commit 4c965139a3cd ("iwlwifi: mvm: support p2p device frames tx on dqa queue #2") Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@intel.com>
2016-07-01iwlwifi: mvm: Support CSA countdown offloadingAndrei Otcheretianski
Add support CSA countdown offloading. When CSA starts, the driver specifies the offsets to the eCSA and CSA IEs in the beacon template command and the fw performs the countdown. The fw notifies the driver when the channel switch flow should be performed. Beacon sent notifications are not used anymore. 2016-04-12cfg80211: remove enum ieee80211_bandJohannes Berg
This enum is already perfectly aliased to enum nl80211_band, and the only reason for it is that we get IEEE80211_NUM_BANDS out of it. There's no really good reason to not declare the number of bands in nl80211 though, so do that and remove the cfg80211 one. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2016-04-06mac80211: allow passing transmitter station on RXJohannes Berg
Sometimes drivers already looked up, or know out-of-band from their device, which station transmitted a given RX frame. Allow them to pass the station pointer to mac80211 to save the extra lookup. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2016-03-30iwlwifi: mvm: support bss dynamic alloc/dealloc of queuesLiad Kaufman
"DQA" is shorthand for "dynamic queue allocation". This enables on-demand allocation of queues per RA/TID rather than statically allocating per vif, thus allowing a potential benefit of various factors. Please refer to the DOC section this patch adds to sta.h to see a more in-depth explanation of this feature. There are many things to take into consideration when working in DQA mode, and this patch is only one in a series. Note that default operation mode is non-DQA mode, unless the FW indicates that it supports DQA mode. This patch enables support of DQA for a station connected to an AP, and works in a non-aggregated mode. When a frame for an unused RA/TID arrives at the driver, it isn't TXed immediately, but deferred first until a suitable queue is first allocated for it, and then TXed by a worker that both allocates the queues and TXes deferred traffic. When a STA is removed, its queues goes back into the queue pools for reuse as needed. 2016-02-27iwlwifi: mvm: update rx_status with mactime flagSara Sharon
When forming IBSS, mac80211 scans in order to find an already existing cell to join. In case the scan does not find any existing cell a new IBSS cell is formed. When receiving the beacons of another IBSS cell we should merge if the other IBSS cell's TSF is higher than ours. However, currently iwlmvm does not set any timestamp flag in rx_status so there is no valid rx timestamp to compare the beacon's TSF to. The reason for that is that TSF as indicated by the firmware is at INA time, but up till now mac80211 expected the TSF at the beginning or end of the MPDU. Set the flag to the newly added RX_FLAG_MACTIME_PLCP_START flag. Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2016-02-01iwlwifi: mvm: allow to disable beacon filtering for AP/GO interfaceAndrei Otcheretianski
When in AP mode we need to filter in beacons from other APs to update HT operation mode. As a power optimization the beacons are filtered out when there are no associated stations. As a result, when there are no associated stations, we will not update the HT operation mode until a station connects. Add a debugfs parameter that allows to disable this optimization. 2016-02-01iwlwifi: mvm: support beacon storingSara Sharon
Currently firmware is configured to filter out beacons. In case a beacon was changed - it is waking the host. However, some vendors change their IEs frequently without any significant change, and redundant wakeups are triggered as a result. As a solution disable beacon filtering when entering d0i3. Instead, firmware will store the latest beacon and upon exiting d0i3 it will send it up to the host, so the host can act upon changes (if there were any). This beacon will arrive as a dedicated notification - support it as well. Signed-off-by: Sara Sharon <sara.sharon@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2016-01-07iwlwifi: mvm: don't ask beacons when P2P GO vif and no assoc staAyala Beker
The commit below called iwl_mvm_mac_ctxt_changed() to handle a case that the vif is a P2P GO. However iwl_mvm_mac_ctxt_cmd_go() ignores the number of associated stations and asks the FW to pass beacons anyways. Fix this by checking ap_assoc_sta_count parameter, in iwl_mvm_mac_ctxt_cmd_go() as well, and ask the FW to pass beacons only when there's at least one associated station. 2016-01-07iwlwifi: mvm: let the firmware choose the antenna for beaconsEmmanuel Grumbach
The firmware knows better what antenna to choose. Old firmware still need the setting, so use a flag to know if the driver should choose the antenna or if the firmware can do it iself. Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2015-12-20iwlwifi: mvm: Add a station in monitor modeChaya Rachel Ivgi
Currently when creating a new vif in monitor mode the driver doesn't allocate a specific station. This causes that in the situation that tx traffic is injected, the tx queues are not scheduled, with the result of a TFD queue hang. Fix that by allocating a station and ensuring its tx queues are scheduled.
