2017-04-28mac80211: separate encoding/bandwidth from flagsJohannes Berg
We currently use a lot of flags that are mutually incompatible, separate this out into actual encoding and bandwidth enum values. 2017-02-08rtlwifi: Move items out of rtl_pci_priv and rtl_usb_privLarry Finger
In commit 6773386f977c ("rtlwifi: rtl8192c-common: Fix "BUG: KASAN:"), a BUG detected when CONFIG_KASAN=y was fixed by reordering the layouts of struct rtl_pci_priv, and struct rtl_usb_priv so that the variables used by both PCI and USB drivers have the same offsets in both structs. The better fix of relocating the critical variables into struct rtl_priv was deferred as these changes do not have to be applied to stable kernels. 2017-01-20rtlwifi: Convert COMP_XX entries into a proper debugging maskLarry Finger
The debugging macros contain a parameter COMP_XX that could be used as a mask; however, the code turns all these various bits on at the same time. This change implements them as a proper mask, and adds module parameters to set the mask at load time. The current name "debug" for the debug level has been changed to "debug_level" to better differentiate it from "debug_mask". The debug routines have also been changed to interrogate the structure that is loaded at entry time. As a result, the structure rtl_debug is no longer needed, and all references to it are deleted. 2016-12-30rtlwifi: Replace local debug macro RT_ASSERTLarry Finger
This macro can be replaced with WARN_ONCE. In addition to using a standard debugging macro for these critical errors, we also get a stack dump. In rtl8821ae/hw.c, a senseless comment was removed, and an incorrect indentation was fixed. This patch also fixes two places in each of rtl8192ee, rtl8723be, and rtl8821ae where the logical condition was incorrect. 2016-10-13rtlwifi: Fix regression caused by commit d86e64768859Larry Finger
In commit d86e64768859 ("rtlwifi: rtl818x: constify local structures"), the configuration struct for most of the drivers was changed to be constant. The problem is that five of the modified drivers need to be able to update the firmware name based on the exact model of the card. As the file names were stored in one of the members of that struct, these drivers would fail with a kernel BUG splat when they tried to update the firmware name. Rather than reverting the previous commit, I used a suggestion by Johannes Berg and made the firmware file name pointers be local to the routines that update the software variables. The configuration struct of rtl8192cu, which was not touched in the previous patch, is now constantfied. There are nine copies of the _rtl88ee_read_adapter_info() function, and most but not all of them cause a build warning in some configurations: rtl8192de/hw.c: In function '_rtl92de_read_adapter_info': rtl8192de/hw.c:1767:12: error: 'hwinfo' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] rtl8723ae/hw.c: In function '_rtl8723e_read_adapter_info.constprop': rtlwifi/rtl8723ae/hw.c:1654:12: error: 'hwinfo' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] The problem is that when rtlefuse->epromtype is something other than EEPROM_BOOT_EFUSE, the rest of the function uses undefined data, resulting in random behavior later. Apparently, in some drivers, the problem was already found and fixed but the fix did not make it into the others. This picks one approach to deal with the problem and applies identical code to all 9 files, to simplify the later consolidation of those. 2015-12-30rtlwifi: rtl8723ae: Fix initialization of module parametersLarry Finger
This driver has some errors in the handling of module parameters. These include missing initialization for parameters msi_support and disable_watchdog. In addition, neither of these parameters nor sw_crypto are transferred into the locations used by the driver. A final fix is adding parameter msi to the module named and description macros. 2015-10-14rtlwifi: rtl818x: Move drivers into new realtek directoryLarry Finger
Now that a new mac80211-based driver for Realtek devices has been submitted, it is time to reorganize the directories. Rather than having directories rtlwifi and rtl818x be in drivers/net/wireless/, they will now be in drivers/net/wireless/realtek/. This change simplifies the directory structure, but does not result in any configuration changes that are visable to the user.
