For whatever reason, some devices like QCA6390, WCN6855 using ath11k
are not in M3 state during PM resume, but still functional. The
mhi_pm_resume should then not fail in those cases, and let the higher
level device specific stack continue resuming process.
Add an API mhi_pm_resume_force(), to force resuming irrespective of the
current MHI state. This fixes a regression with non functional ath11k WiFi
after suspend/resume cycle on some machines.

After mt7921s got added, there are two possible build problems:
a) mt7921s does not get built at all if mt7921e is not also enabled
b) there is a link error when mt7921e is a loadable module, but mt7921s
configured as built-in:

This is now the only driver that selects the LEDS_CLASS framework,
which is normally user-selectable. While it doesn't strictly cause
a bug, rework the Kconfig logic to be more consistent with what
other drivers do, and only enable LED support in brcmsmac if the
dependencies are all there, rather than using 'select' to enable
what it needs.

The dependencies for LED configuration are highly inconsistent and too
complicated at the moment. One of the results is a randconfig failure I
get very rarely when LEDS_CLASS is in a loadable module, but the wireless
core is built-in:
WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for MAC80211_LEDS
Depends on [n]: NET [=y] && WIRELESS [=y] && MAC80211 [=y] && (LEDS_CLASS [=m]=y || LEDS_CLASS [=m]=MAC80211 [=y])
Selected by [m]:
- IWLEGACY [=m] && NETDEVICES [=y] && WLAN [=y] && WLAN_VENDOR_INTEL [=y]
- IWLWIFI_LEDS [=y] && NETDEVICES [=y] && WLAN [=y] && WLAN_VENDOR_INTEL [=y] && IWLWIFI [=m] && (LEDS_CLASS [=m]=y || LEDS_CLASS [=m]=IWLWIFI [=m]) && (IWLMVM [=m] || IWLDVM [=m])
aarch64-linux-ld: drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k/led.o: in function `ath5k_register_led':

aarch64-linux-ld: drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath5k/led.o: in function `ath5k_unregister_leds':
led.c:(.text+0x200): undefined reference to `led_classdev_unregister'
For iwlwifi, the dependency is wrong, since this config prevents the
MAC80211_LEDS code from being part of a built-in MAC80211 driver.
For iwlegacy, this is worse because the driver tries to force-enable
the other subsystems, which is both a layering violation and a bug
because it will still fail with MAC80211=y and IWLEGACY=m, leading
to LEDS_CLASS being a module as well.
The actual link failure in the ath5k driver is a result of MAC80211_LEDS
being enabled but not usable. With the Kconfig logic fixed in the
Intel drivers, the ath5k driver works as expected again.

As reported by Exuvo is possible that we have lot's of EPROTO errors
during device start i.e. firmware load. But after that device works
correctly. Hence marking device gone by few EPROTO errors done by
commit e383c70474db ("rt2x00: check number of EPROTO errors") caused
regression - Exuvo device stop working after kernel update. To fix
disable the check during device start.

The partition size is used to tell hardware the size of piece we are going
to send a firmware. The old code updates the size in constant buffer of
firmware, and leads system crash.
To fix this, update the size on skb->data after we copy the firmware data
into skb.

In some very rare cases the init flow may fail. In many cases, this is
recoverable, so we can retry. Implement a loop to retry two more times
after the first attempt failed.
This can happen in two different situations, namely during probe and
during mac80211 start. For the first case, a simple loop is enough.
For the second case, we need to add a flag to prevent mac80211 from
trying to restart it as well, leaving full control with the driver.

Both gcc-11 and clang point out a potential issue with integer overflow when
the iwl_dev_info_table[] array is empty. This is what clang warns:
drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/pcie/drv.c:1344:42: error: implicit conversion from 'unsigned long' to 'int' changes value from 18446744073709551615 to -1 [-Werror,-Wconstant-conversion]
for (i = ARRAY_SIZE(iwl_dev_info_table) - 1; i >= 0; i--) {
~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~
This is still harmless, as the loop correctly terminates, but adding
an extra range check makes that obvious to both readers and to the
compiler.

Pull overflow updates from Kees Cook:
"The end goal of the current buffer overflow detection work[0] is to
gain full compile-time and run-time coverage of all detectable buffer
overflows seen via array indexing or memcpy(), memmove(), and
memset(). The str*() family of functions already have full coverage.
While much of the work for these changes have been on-going for many
releases (i.e. 0-element and 1-element array replacements, as well as
avoiding false positives and fixing discovered overflows[1]), this
series contains the foundational elements of several related buffer
overflow detection improvements by providing new common helpers and
FORTIFY_SOURCE changes needed to gain the introspection required for
compiler visibility into array sizes. Also included are a handful of
already Acked instances using the helpers (or related clean-ups), with
many more waiting at the ready to be taken via subsystem-specific
trees[2].
The new helpers are:
- struct_group() for gaining struct member range introspection
- memset_after() and memset_startat() for clearing to the end of
structures
- DECLARE_FLEX_ARRAY() for using flex arrays in unions or alone in
structs
Also included is the beginning of the refactoring of FORTIFY_SOURCE to
support memcpy() introspection, fix missing and regressed coverage
under GCC, and to prepare to fix the currently broken Clang support.
Finishing this work is part of the larger series[0], but depends on
all the false positives and buffer overflow bug fixes to have landed
already and those that depend on this series to land.
As part of the FORTIFY_SOURCE refactoring, a set of both a
compile-time and run-time tests are added for FORTIFY_SOURCE and the
mem*()-family functions respectively. The compile time tests have
found a legitimate (though corner-case) bug[6] already.
Please note that the appearance of "panic" and "BUG" in the
FORTIFY_SOURCE refactoring are the result of relocating existing code,
and no new use of those code-paths are expected nor desired.
Finally, there are two tree-wide conversions for 0-element arrays and
flexible array unions to gain sane compiler introspection coverage
that result in no known object code differences.
After this series (and the changes that have now landed via netdev and
usb), we are very close to finally being able to build with
-Warray-bounds and -Wzero-length-bounds.
However, due corner cases in GCC[3] and Clang[4], I have not included
the last two patches that turn on these options, as I don't want to
introduce any known warnings to the build. Hopefully these can be
solved soon"

Add the missing endpoint sanity checks to probe() to avoid division by
zero in mwifiex_write_data_sync() in case a malicious device has broken
descriptors (or when doing descriptor fuzz testing).
Only add checks for the firmware-download boot stage, which require both
command endpoints, for now. The driver looks like it will handle a
missing endpoint during normal operation without oopsing, albeit not
very gracefully as it will try to submit URBs to the default pipe and
fail.
Note that USB core will reject URBs submitted for endpoints with zero
wMaxPacketSize but that drivers doing packet-size calculations still
need to handle this (cf. commit 2548288b4fb0 ("USB: Fix: Don't skip
endpoint descriptors with maxpacket=0")).

Trying to convert from one firmware data representation to the
next version is getting tedious and error-prone, and doesn't
lend itself well to new APIs being added. Additionally, the
version 11 of the API as defined in the driver doesn't even
exist in the firmware.
Instead of converting to a newer firmware version of the data,
convert to an internal representation. This takes a bit more
space because the TKIP/AES counters etc. must be kept twice,
their representation is different and we don't know which of
the ones it is until later, but this is just a temporary use
of memory, and the code is clearer this way.

We currently match the list of devices from the start to
the end, but then find the *last* match, so we need to
look at each and every entry. We don't want to change the
semantics ("most generic entry must come first"), so just
change the order of matching to be back-to-front, then we
can break out once we find a match.

There's a new revision of the WGDS table with more data,
and corresponding firmware API to pass it through. Add
support for both.
Since we now support 4 different versions, make a table
to load them instead of hard-coding it all.

Add the missing endpoint max-packet sanity check to probe() to avoid
division by zero in ath10k_usb_hif_tx_sg() in case a malicious device
has broken descriptors (or when doing descriptor fuzz testing).
