2017-03-31drivers/rapidio/devices/tsi721.c: make module parameter variable name uniqueRandy Dunlap
kbuild test robot reported a non-static variable name collision between a staging driver and a RapidIO driver, with a generic variable name of 'dbg_level'. Both drivers should be changed so that they don't use this generic public variable name. 2016-08-02rapidio: change inbound window size type to u64Alexandre Bounine
Current definition of map_inb() mport operations callback uses u32 type to specify required inbound window (IBW) size. This is limiting factor because existing hardware - tsi721 and fsl_rio, both support IBW size up to 16GB. Changing type of size parameter to u64 to allow IBW size configurations larger than 4GB. 2016-08-02rapidio/tsi721: add PCIe MRRS override parameterAlexandre Bounine
Add PCIe Maximum Read Request Size (MRRS) adjustment parameter to allow users to override configuration register value set during PCIe bus initialization. Performance of Tsi721 device as PCIe bus master can be improved if MRRS is set to its maximum value (4096 bytes). Some platforms have limitations for supported MRRS and therefore the default value should be preserved, unless it is known that given platform supports full set of MRRS values defined by PCI Express specification. 2016-03-22rapidio: add global inbound port write interfacesAlexandre Bounine
Add new Port Write handler registration interfaces that attach PW handlers to local mport device objects. This is different from old interface that attaches PW callback to individual RapidIO device. The new interfaces are intended for use for common event handling (e.g. hot-plug notifications) while the old interface is available for individual device drivers. This patch is based on patch proposed by Andre van Herk but preserves existing per-device interface and adds lock protection for list handling. 2016-03-22rapidio/tsi721: add option to configure direct mapping of IB windowAlexandre Bounine
Add an option to configure mapping of Inbound Window without RIO-to-PCIe address translation. If a local memory buffer is not properly aligned to meet HW requirements for RapidIO address mapping with address translation, caller can request an inbound window with matching RapidIO address assigned to it. This implementation selects RapidIO base address and size for inbound window that are capable to accommodate the local memory buffer. Remove use of hardcoded setting for Maximum Read Request Size (MRRS) value and use one set by PCIe bus driver. Using hardcoded value can cause PCIe bus errors on platforms that have tsi721 device on PCIe path that allows only smaller read request sizes. As result of deprecation of MSI-X/MSI enablement functions pci_enable_msix() and pci_enable_msi_block() all drivers using these two interfaces need to be updated to use the new pci_enable_msi_range() or pci_enable_msi_exact() and pci_enable_msix_range() or pci_enable_msix_exact() interfaces. The patch has no runtime effect. 2014-04-07rapidio: rework device hierarchy and introduce mport class of devicesAlexandre Bounine
This patch removes an artificial RapidIO bus root device and establishes actual device hierarchy by providing reference to real parent devices. It also introduces device class for RapidIO controller devices (on-chip or an eternal bridge, known as "mport"). Existing implementation was sufficient for SoC-based platforms that have a single RapidIO controller. With introduction of devices using multiple RapidIO controllers and PCIe-to-RapidIO bridges the old scheme is very limiting or does not work at all. The implemented changes allow to properly reference platform's local RapidIO mport devices and provide device details needed for upper layers. This change to RapidIO device hierarchy does not break any known existing kernel or user space interfaces. 2013-05-24rapidio/tsi721: fix bug in MSI interrupt handlingAlexandre Bounine
Fix bug in MSI interrupt handling which causes loss of event notifications. Typical indication of lost MSI interrupts are stalled message and doorbell transfers between RapidIO endpoints. To avoid loss of MSI interrupts all interrupts from the device must be disabled on entering the interrupt handler routine and re-enabled when exiting it. Re-enabling device interrupts will trigger new MSI message(s) if Tsi721 registered new events since entering interrupt handler routine. This patch is applicable to kernel versions starting from v3.2. Make sure that there is no doorbell messages left behind due to disabled interrupts during inbound doorbell processing. The most common case for this bug is loss of rionet JOIN messages in systems with three or more rionet participants and MSI or MSI-X enabled. As result, requests for packet transfers may finish with "destination unreachable" error message. This patch is applicable to kernel versions starting from v3.2. Fix a bug that causes a kernel panic when the number of received doorbells is larger than number of entries in the inbound doorbell queue (current default value = 512). Another possible indication for this bug is large number of spurious doorbells reported by tsi721 driver after reaching the queue size maximum.
