2023-06-14scsi: aacraid: Reply queue mapping to CPUs based on IRQ affinitySagar Biradar
Fix the I/O hang that arises because of the MSIx vector not having a mapped online CPU upon receiving completion. SCSI cmds take the blk_mq route, which is setup during init. Reserved cmds fetch the vector_no from mq_map after init is complete. Before init, they have to use 0 - as per the norm. 2023-03-09scsi: aacraid: Drop redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting()Bjorn Helgaas
pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() enables the device to send ERR_* Messages. Since commit f26e58bf6f54 ("PCI/AER: Enable error reporting when AER is native"), the PCI core does this for all devices during enumeration, so the driver doesn't need to do it itself. Remove the redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() call from the driver. Note that this only controls ERR_* Messages from the device. An ERR_* Message may cause the Root Port to generate an interrupt, depending on the AER Root Error Command register managed by the AER service driver. Also remove pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting() from the .error_detected() path, which was added by commit 5c63f7f710bd ("aacraid: Added EEH support") but looks unnecessary. Error reporting will be disabled by the device reset and will be re-enabled by the pci_restore_state() in aac_pci_slot_reset(). 2020-11-25scsi: aacraid: Use generic power managementVaibhav Gupta
Drivers should do only device-specific jobs. But in general, drivers using legacy PCI PM framework for .suspend()/.resume() have to manage many PCI PM-related tasks themselves which can be done by PCI Core itself. This brings extra load on the driver and it directly calls PCI helper functions to handle them. Switch to the new generic framework by updating function signatures and define a "struct dev_pm_ops" variable to bind PM callbacks. Also, remove unnecessary calls to the PCI Helper functions along with the legacy .suspend & .resume bindings. 2020-11-25scsi: aacraid: Drop pci_enable_wake() from .resumeVaibhav Gupta
The driver calls pci_enable_wake(...., false) in aac_resume(), and there is no corresponding pci_enable_wake(...., true) in aac_suspend(). Either it should do enable-wake the device in .suspend() or should not invoke pci_enable_wake() at all. Concluding that this is a bug and PCI core calls pci_enable_wake(pci_dev, PCI_D0, false) during resume, drop it from aac_resume(). 2020-11-04scsi: aacraid: Improve compat_ioctl handlersArnd Bergmann
The use of compat_alloc_user_space() can be easily replaced by handling compat arguments in the regular handler, and this will make it work for big-endian kernels as well, which at the moment get an invalid indirect pointer argument. Calling aac_ioctl() instead of aac_compat_do_ioctl() means the compat and native code paths behave the same way again, which they stopped when the adapter health check was added only in the native function. 2020-07-07PCI: Use 'pci_channel_state_t' instead of 'enum pci_channel_state'Luc Van Oostenryck
The method struct pci_error_handlers.error_detected() is defined and documented as taking an 'enum pci_channel_state' for the second argument, but most drivers use 'pci_channel_state_t' instead. This 'pci_channel_state_t' is not a typedef for the enum but a typedef for a bitwise type in order to have better/stricter typechecking. Consolidate everything by using 'pci_channel_state_t' in the method's definition, in the related helpers and in the drivers. Enforce use of 'pci_channel_state_t' by replacing 'enum pci_channel_state' with an anonymous 'enum'. struct partition is the on-disk format of a MSDOS partition table entry. Move it out of genhd.h into a new msdos_partition.h header and give it a msdos_ prefix to avoid confusion. My research into how GCC and Clang are handling this at a low level didn't prove fruitful. However, looking at the rest of the kernel tree, all ioctls use an 'unsigned int' for the cmd parameter, which will fit all of the _IOC values in the scsi/ata subsystems. Make that change because none of the ioctls expect a negative value for any command, it brings the ioctls inline with the reset of the kernel, and it removes ambiguity, which is never good when dealing with compilers. However, pci_set_drvdata(pdev, shost) is done in aac_probe_one() far after bailing out with error from calling the init function ((*aac_drivers[index].init)(aac)), and when the init function fails, no error is returned from aac_probe_one() so PCI layer assumes there is driver attached, and tries to shut it down later. Fix it by returning error from aac_probe_one() when card-specific init function fails. This fixes reboot on my HP NetRAID-4M with dead battery.
