2022-01-06staging: greybus: audio: Check null pointerJiasheng Jiang
As the possible alloc failure of devm_kcalloc(), it could return null pointer. Therefore, 'strings' should be checked and return NULL if alloc fails to prevent the dereference of the NULL pointer. Also, the caller should also deal with the return value of the gb_generate_enum_strings() and return -ENOMEM if returns NULL. Moreover, because the memory allocated with devm_kzalloc() will be freed automatically when the last reference to the device is dropped, the 'gbe' in gbaudio_tplg_create_enum_kctl() and gbaudio_tplg_create_enum_ctl() do not need to free manually. But the 'control' in gbaudio_tplg_create_widget() and gbaudio_tplg_process_kcontrols() has a specially error handle to cleanup. So it should be better to cleanup 'control' when fails. 2021-12-30staging: greybus: auto_manager: use default_groups in kobj_typeGreg Kroah-Hartman
There are currently 2 ways to create a set of sysfs files for a kobj_type, through the default_attrs field, and the default_groups field. Move the greybus audio code to use default_groups field which has been the preferred way since aa30f47cf666 ("kobject: Add support for default attribute groups to kobj_type") so that we can soon get rid of the obsolete default_attrs field. User space can hold a tty open indefinitely and tty drivers must not release the underlying structures until the last user is gone. 2021-07-21bus: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König
The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there is only little it can do when a device disappears. This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback. Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go away. With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate wrong expectations for driver authors. In the previous patch, we introduced tty_get_char_size() and tty_get_frame_size() for computing character and frame sizes, respectively. 2021-05-20staging: greybus: audio: Fix sparse warning.Rajat Asthana
Sparse complains that: warning: restricted send_ctl_elem_iface_t degrades to integer. I have looked at this code, and the code is fine as-is. Normally we would frown on using the __force directive to silence Sparse warnings but in this case it's fine. Case statements can't be made into __bitwise types. We also can't change the type of "ctl->iface" either because that is part of the user space API. So just add a (__force int) to make the warning go away. TIOCSSERIAL is a horrid, underspecified, legacy interface which for most serial devices is only useful for setting the close_delay and closing_wait parameters. The xmit_fifo_size parameter could be used to set the hardware transmit fifo size of a legacy UART when it could not be detected, but the interface is limited to eight bits and should be left unset when not used. Similarly, baud_base could be used to set the UART base clock when it could not be detected but might as well be left unset when it is not known. The type parameter could be used to set the UART type, but is better left unspecified (type unknown) when it isn't used. Note that some applications have historically expected TIOCGSERIAL to be implemented, but judging from the Debian sources, the port type not being PORT_UNKNOWN is only used to check for the existence of legacy serial ports (ttySn). Notably USB serial drivers like ftdi_sio have been using PORT_UNKNOWN for twenty years without any problems. Drop the bogus values provided by the greybus implementation. TIOCSSERIAL is a horrid, underspecified, legacy interface which for most serial devices is only useful for setting the close_delay and closing_wait parameters. A non-privileged user has only ever been able to set the since long deprecated ASYNC_SPD flags and trying to change any other *supported* feature should result in -EPERM being returned. Setting the current values for any supported features should return success. Fix the greybus implementation which instead indicated that the TIOCSSERIAL ioctl was not even implemented when a non-privileged user set the current values. The intent is the removal of the 'delay_usecs' field from the spi_transfer struct, as there is a 'delay' field that does the same thing. The spi_delay_to_ns() can be used to get the transfer delay. It works by using the 'delay_usecs' field first (if it is non-zero), and finally uses the 'delay' field. Since the 'delay_usecs' field is going away, this change makes use of the spi_delay_to_ns() function. This also means dividing the return value of the function by 1000, to convert it to microseconds. To prevent any potential faults when converting to microseconds and since the result of spi_delay_to_ns() is int, the delay is being computed in 32 bits and then clamped between 0 & U16_MAX. 2020-07-29staging: greybus: audio: Maintain jack list within GB Audio moduleVaibhav Agarwal
As per the current implementation for GB codec driver, a jack list is maintained for each module. And it expects the list to be populated by the snd_soc_jack structure which would require modifications in mainstream code. However, this is not a necessary requirement and the list can be easily maintained within gbaudio_module_info as well. This patch provides the relevant changes for the same.
