2018-10-02usb: gadget: fsl_udc_core: fixup struct_udc_setup documentationNicholas Mc Guire
The original implementation from commit b504882da539 ("USB: add Freescale high-speed USB SOC device controller driver") returned NULL on failure and an allocated + initialized struct fsl_udc on success. The current code introduced in commit 4365831dadfe ("USB: fsl_usb2_udc: Get max ep number from DCCPARAMS register") only provides partial initialization as well as returning 0 on success and -1 on failures. The function documentation is updated accordingly. 2018-10-02usb: gadget: fsl_udc_core: check allocation return value and cleanup on failureNicholas Mc Guire
The allocation with fsl_alloc_request() and kmalloc() were unchecked fixed this up with a NULL check and appropriate cleanup. Additionally udc->ep_qh_size was reset to 0 on failure of allocation. Similar udc->phy_mode is initially 0 (as udc_controller was allocated with kzalloc in fsl_udc_probe()) so reset it to 0 as well so that this function is side-effect free on failure. Not clear if this is necessary or sensible as fsl_udc_release() probably can not be called if fsl_udc_probe() failed - but it should not hurt. 2018-06-12treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()Kees Cook
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This patch replaces cases of: kzalloc(a * b, gfp) with: kcalloc(a * b, gfp) as well as handling cases of: kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp) with: kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp) as it's slightly less ugly than: kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The Coccinelle script used for this was: // Fix redundant parens around sizeof(). @@ type TYPE; expression THING, E; @@ ( kzalloc( - (sizeof(TYPE)) * E + sizeof(TYPE) * E , ...) | kzalloc( - (sizeof(THING)) * E + sizeof(THING) * E , ...) ) // Drop single-byte sizes and redundant parens. @@ expression COUNT; 2017-11-07USB: gadget: udc: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman
Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-04USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. 2015-04-27usb: gadget: remove incorrect __init/__exit annotationsArnd Bergmann
A recent change introduced a link error for the composite printer gadget driver: `printer_unbind' referenced in section `.ref.data' of drivers/built-in.o: defined in discarded section `.exit.text' of drivers/built-in.o Evidently the unbind function should not be marked __exit here, because it is called through a callback pointer that is not necessarily discarded, __composite_unbind() is indeed called from the error path of composite_bind(), which can never work for a built-in driver. Looking at the surrounding code, I found the same problem in all other composite gadget drivers in both the bind and unbind functions, as well as the udc platform driver 'remove' functions. Those will break if anyone uses the 'unbind' sysfs attribute to detach a device from a built-in driver. This patch removes the incorrect annotations from all the gadget drivers. They are dominated by the removal of the .owner field in platform drivers. They touch a lot of files, but they are "simple" changes, just removing a line in a structure. Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There are some ath9k patches coming in through this tree that have been acked by the wireless maintainers as they relied on the debugfs changes. 2014-11-03usb: gadget: remove unnecessary 'driver' argumentFelipe Balbi
now that no UDC driver relies on the extra 'driver' argument to ->udc_stop(), we can safely remove it. This commit is based on previous work by Robert Baldyga <r.baldyga@samsung.com> which can be found at [1]; however that patch turned out to have a high probability of regressing many UDC drivers because of a blind search & replace s/driver/$udc->driver/ which caused the 'driver' argument to stop_activity() to be a valid non-NULL pointer when it should be NULL, thus causing UDCs to mistakenly call gadget driver's ->disconnect() callback.
