While commit 69f89168b310 ("usb: typec: tpcm: Fix issues with power being
removed during reset") fixes the boot issues for bus powered devices such
as LibreTech Renegade Elite/Firefly, it trades off the CC pins NOT being
Hi-Zed during errory recovery (i.e PORT_RESET) for devices which are NOT
bus powered(a.k.a self powered). This change Hi-Zs the CC pins only for
self powered devices, thus preventing brown out for bus powered devices
Adhering to spec is gaining more importance due to the Common charger
initiative enforced by the European Union.
Quoting from the spec:
4.5.2.2.2.1 ErrorRecovery State Requirements
The port shall not drive VBUS or VCONN, and shall present a
high-impedance to ground (above zOPEN) on its CC1 and CC2 pins.
Hi-Zing the CC pins is the inteded behavior for PORT_RESET.
CC pins are set to default state after tErrorRecovery in
PORT_RESET_WAIT_OFF.
4.5.2.2.2.2 Exiting From ErrorRecovery State
A Sink shall transition to Unattached.SNK after tErrorRecovery.
A Source shall transition to Unattached.SRC after tErrorRecovery.

Since the merge of b717dfbf73e8 ("Revert "usb: typec: tcpm: fix
cc role at port reset"") into mainline the LibreTech Renegade
Elite/Firefly has died during boot, the main symptom observed in testing
is a sudden stop in console output. Gábor Stefanik identified in review
that the patch would cause power to be removed from devices without
batteries (like this board), observing that while the patch is correct
according to the spec this appears to be an oversight in the spec.
Given that the change makes previously working systems unusable let's
revert it, there was some discussion of identifying systems that have
alternative power and implementing the standards conforming behaviour in
only that case.

after try role"
The reverted commit makes the state machine only ever go from SRC_ATTACH_WAIT
to SNK_TRY in endless loop when toggling. After revert it goes to SRC_ATTACHED
after initially trying SNK_TRY earlier, as it should for toggling to ever detect
the power source mode and the port is again able to provide power to attached
power sinks.

Refactor tcpm_fw_get_caps to support the multiple pd capabilities got
from fwnode. For backward compatibility, the original single capability
is still applicable. The fetched data is stored in the newly defined
structure "pd_data" and there is an array "pd_list" to store the
pointers to them. A dedicated array "pds" is used to store the handles
of the registered usb_power_delivery instances.
Also implement the .pd_get and .pd_set ops which are introduced in
commit a7cff92f0635 ("usb: typec: USB Power Delivery helpers for ports
and partners"). Once the .pd_set is called, the current capability will
be updated and state machine will re-negotiate the power contract if
possible.

The USB Type-C Cable and Connector Specification defines the wire
connections for the USB Type-C to USB 2.0 Standard-A cable assembly
(Release 2.2, Chapter 3.5.2).
The Notes says that Pin A5 (CC) of the USB Type-C plug shall be connected
to Vbus through a resister Rp.
However, there is a large amount of such double Rp connected to Vbus
non-standard cables which produced by UGREEN circulating on the market, and
it can affects the normal operations of the state machine easily,
especially to CC1 and CC2 be pulled up at the same time.
In fact, we can regard those cables as sink to avoid abnormal state.

Currently did varaible is used for HW differences between the devices which
complicates the code by adding checks.
Therefore it is better to convert enum->pointer for data match and extend
match support for both ID and OF tables by using i2c_get_match_data().
Add struct rt1711h_chip_info with did variable and replace did->info in
struct rt1711h_chip. Later patch will add more hw differences to
struct rt1711h_chip_info and avoid checking did for HW differences.

When sending Discover Identity messages to a Port Partner that uses Power
Delivery v2 and SVDM v1, we currently send PD v2 messages with SVDM v2.0,
expecting the port partner to respond with its highest supported SVDM
version as stated in Section 6.4.4.2.3 in the Power Delivery v3
specification. However, sending SVDM v2 to some Power Delivery v2 port
partners results in a NAK whereas sending SVDM v1 does not.
NAK messages can be handled by the initiator (PD v3 section 6.4.4.2.5.1),
and one solution could be to resend Discover Identity on a lower SVDM
version if possible. But, Section 6.4.4.3 of PD v2 states that "A NAK
response Should be taken as an indication not to retry that particular
Command."
Instead, we can set the SVDM version to the maximum one supported by the
negotiated PD revision. When operating in PD v2, this obeys Section
6.4.4.2.3, which states the SVDM field "Shall be set to zero to indicate
Version 1.0." In PD v3, the SVDM field "Shall be set to 01b to indicate
Version 2.0."

According the "USB Type-C Port Controller Interface Specification v2.0"
the TCPC sets the fault status register bit-7
(AllRegistersResetToDefault) once the registers have been reset to
their default values.
This triggers an alert(-irq) on PTN5110 devices albeit we do mask the
fault-irq, which may cause a kernel hang. Fix this generically by writing
a one to the corresponding bit-7.

Some usb hubs will negotiate DisplayPort Alt mode with the device
but will then negotiate a data role swap after entering the alt
mode. The data role swap causes the device to unregister all alt
modes, however the usb hub will still send Attention messages
even after failing to reregister the Alt Mode. type_altmode_attention
currently does not verify whether or not a device's altmode partner
exists, which results in a NULL pointer error when dereferencing
the typec_altmode and typec_altmode_ops belonging to the altmode

The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from
emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve
here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first
step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already
returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() is
renamed to .remove().

emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve
here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first
step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already
returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() is
renamed to .remove().
Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.
