2024-10-21soc: mediatek: Add MediaTek DVFS Resource Collector (DVFSRC) driverAngeloGioacchino Del Regno
The Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling Resource Collector (DVFSRC) is a Hardware module used to collect all the requests from both software and the various remote processors embedded into the SoC and decide about a minimum operating voltage and a minimum DRAM frequency to fulfill those requests in an effort to provide the best achievable performance per watt. This hardware IP is capable of transparently performing direct register R/W on all of the DVFSRC-controlled regulators and SoC bandwidth knobs. This driver includes support for MT8183, MT8192 and MT8195. 2024-06-27soc: mtk-cmdq: Add cmdq_pkt_logic_command to support math operationJason-JH.Lin
Add cmdq_pkt_logic_command to support math operation. cmdq_pkt_logic_command can append logic command to the CMDQ packet, ask GCE to execute a arithmetic calculate instruction, such as add, subtract, multiply, AND, OR and NOT, etc. Note that all arithmetic instructions are unsigned calculations. If there are any overflows, GCE will sent the invalid IRQ to notify CMDQ driver. 2024-04-23soc: mediatek: mtk-cmdq: Add cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() functionJason-JH.Lin
Add cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() function to support CMDQ user making an instruction for acquiring event. CMDQ users can use cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() as `mutex_lock` and cmdq_pkt_clear_event() as `mutex_unlock` to protect the global resource modified instructions between them. cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() would wait for event to be cleared. After event is cleared by cmdq_pkt_clear_event() in other GCE threads, cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() would set event and keep executing next instruction. So the mutex would work like this: cmdq_pkt_acquire_event() /* mutex lock */ /* critical secton instructions that modified global resource */ cmdq_pkt_clear_event() /* mutex unlock */ Prevent the critical section instructions from being affected by other GCE threads. 2024-04-23soc: mediatek: mtk-cmdq: Add cmdq_pkt_poll_addr() functionJason-JH.Lin
Add cmdq_pkt_poll_addr function to support CMDQ user making an instruction for polling a specific address of hardware rigster to check the value with or without mask. POLL is a legacy operation in GCE, so it does not support SPR and CMDQ_CODE_LOGIC. To support polling the register address which doesn't have the subsys id, CMDQ users need to make an instruction with GPR and CMDQ_CODE_MASK operation to move the register address to be poll into GPR. Then users can make an POLL instruction with GPR to poll the register address assigned in previous instruction. 2024-04-23soc: mediatek: cmdq: Refine cmdq_pkt_create() and cmdq_pkt_destroy()Chun-Kuang Hu
cmdq_pkt_create() and cmdq_pkt_destroy() is not suitable for client drivers so each client driver has implement its own function. This refinement would pass struct cmdq_pkt pointer into cmdq_pkt_create(). In addition, client driver has the struct cmdq_client information, so it's not necessary to store this information in struct cmdq_pkt. After this refinement, client drivers could use these helper funciton instead of implementing its own version. 2023-01-25soc: mediatek: add cmdq support of mtk-mmsys config API for mt8195 vdosys1Nancy.Lin
Add cmdq support for mtk-mmsys config API. The mmsys config register settings need to take effect with the other HW settings(like OVL_ADAPTOR...) at the same vblanking time. If we use CPU to write the mmsys reg, we can't guarantee all the settings can be written in the same vblanking time. Cmdq is used for this purpose. We prepare all the related HW settings in one cmdq packet. The first command in the packet is "wait stream done", and then following with all the HW settings. After the cmdq packet is flush to GCE HW. The GCE waits for the "stream done event" to coming and then starts flushing all the HW settings. This can guarantee all the settings flush in the same vblanking. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wireless/wireless-next Kalle Valo says: ==================== wireless-next patches for v6.3 First set of patches for v6.3. The most important change here is that the old Wireless Extension user space interface is not supported on Wi-Fi 7 devices at all. We also added a warning if anyone with modern drivers (ie. cfg80211 and mac80211 drivers) tries to use Wireless Extensions, everyone should switch to using nl80211 interface instead. Static WEP support is removed, there wasn't any driver using that anyway so there's no user impact. Otherwise it's smaller features and fixes as usual. Note: As mt76 had tricky conflicts due to the fixes in wireless tree, we decided to merge wireless into wireless-next to solve them easily. There should not be any merge problems anymore. 2022-11-08soc: mediatek: Add all settings to mtk_mmsys_ddp_dpi_fmt_config funcXinlei Lee
The difference between MT8186 and other ICs is that when modifying the output format, we need to modify the mmsys_base+0x400 register to take effect. So when setting the dpi output format, we need to call mtk_mmsys_ddp_dpi_fmt_config to set it to MT8186 synchronously. Commit a071e52f75d1 ("soc: mediatek: Add mmsys func to adapt to dpi output for MT8186") lacked some of the possible output formats and also had a wrong bitmask. Add the missing output formats and fix the bitmask. While at it, also update mtk_mmsys_ddp_dpi_fmt_config() to use generic formats, so that it is slightly easier to extend for other platforms.
