Bump the DVB API version in order userspace to be aware of the changes recently implemented in enumerations for DVB-S2(X) and DVB-C2. Related: commit 6508a50fe84f ("media: dvb: add DVB-C2 and DVB-S2X parameter values") Link: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-media/20230110071421.31498-1-athoik@gmail.com Cc: Robert Schlabbach <robert_s@gmx.net> Signed-off-by: Athanasios Oikonomou <athoik@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@kernel.org>
2022-12-07headers: Remove some left-over license text in include/uapi/linux/dvb/Christophe JAILLET
Remove some left-over from commit e2be04c7f995 ("License cleanup: add SPDX license identifier to uapi header files with a license") When the SPDX-License-Identifier tag has been added, the corresponding license text has not been removed. Remove it now. Signed-off-by: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@wanadoo.fr> Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hverkuil-cisco@xs4all.nl>
2017-12-19media: dvb_frontend: add physical layer scrambling supportAthanasios Oikonomou
This commit adds a new property DTV_SCRAMBLING_SEQUENCE_INDEX. This 18 bit field, when present, carries the index of the DVB-S2 physical layer scrambling sequence as defined in clause 5.5.4 of EN 302 307. There is no explicit signalling method to convey scrambling sequence index to the receiver. If S2 satellite delivery system descriptor is available it can be used to read the scrambling sequence index (EN 300 468 table 41). By default, gold scrambling sequence index 0 is used. The valid scrambling sequence index range is from 0 to 262142. Increase the DVB API version in order userspace to be aware of the changes. 2017-11-02License cleanup: add SPDX license identifier to uapi header files with a licenseGreg Kroah-Hartman
Many user space API headers have licensing information, which is either incomplete, badly formatted or just a shorthand for referring to the license under which the file is supposed to be. This makes it hard for compliance tools to determine the correct license. Update these files with an SPDX license identifier. The identifier was chosen based on the license information in the file. GPL/LGPL licensed headers get the matching GPL/LGPL SPDX license identifier with the added 'WITH Linux-syscall-note' exception, which is the officially assigned exception identifier for the kernel syscall exception: NOTE! This copyright does *not* cover user programs that use kernel services by normal system calls - this is merely considered normal use of the kernel, and does *not* fall under the heading of "derived work". This exception makes it possible to include GPL headers into non GPL code, without confusing license compliance tools. Headers which have either explicit dual licensing or are just licensed under a non GPL license are updated with the corresponding SPDX identifier and the GPLv2 with syscall exception identifier. The format is: ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR SPDX-ID-OF-OTHER-LICENSE) SPDX license identifiers are a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. The update does not remove existing license information as this has to be done on a case by case basis and the copyright holders might have to be consulted. This will happen in a separate step. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. See the previous patch in this series for the methodology of how this patch was researched. 2013-01-23[media] dvb: Add DVBv5 statistics propertiesMauro Carvalho Chehab
The DVBv3 statistics parameters are limited on several ways: - It doesn't provide any way to indicate the used measure, so userspace need to guess how to calculate/use it; - Only a limited set of stats are supported; - Can't be called in a way to require them to be filled all at once (atomic reads from the hardware), with may cause troubles on interpreting them on userspace; - On some OFDM delivery systems, the carriers can be independently modulated, having different properties. Currently, there's no way to report per-layer stats. To address the above issues, adding a new DVBv5-based stats API. While here, correct inner code nomenclature on a few places.
