2023-03-09lib: packing: remove MODULE_LICENSE in non-modulesNick Alcock
Since commit 8b41fc4454e ("kbuild: create modules.builtin without Makefile.modbuiltin or tristate.conf"), MODULE_LICENSE declarations are used to identify modules. As a consequence, uses of the macro in non-modules will cause modprobe to misidentify their containing object file as a module when it is not (false positives), and modprobe might succeed rather than failing with a suitable error message. So remove it in the files in this commit, none of which can be built as modules. 2022-12-12lib: packing: replace bit_reverse() with bitrev8()Uladzislau Koshchanka
Remove bit_reverse() function. Instead use bitrev8() from linux/bitrev.h + bitshift. Reduces code-repetition. Signed-off-by: Uladzislau Koshchanka <koshchanka@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221210004423.32332-1-koshchanka@gmail.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2021-09-17net: update NXP copyright textVladimir Oltean
NXP Legal insists that the following are not fine: - Saying "NXP Semiconductors" instead of "NXP", since the company's registered name is "NXP" - Putting a "(c)" sign in the copyright string - Putting a comma in the copyright string The only accepted copyright string format is "Copyright <year-range> NXP". This patch changes the copyright headers in the networking files that were sent by me, or derived from code sent by me. 2019-05-03lib: Add support for generic packing operationsVladimir Oltean
This provides an unified API for accessing register bit fields regardless of memory layout. The basic unit of data for these API functions is the u64. The process of transforming an u64 from native CPU encoding into the peripheral's encoding is called 'pack', and transforming it from peripheral to native CPU encoding is 'unpack'.
