2019-03-01netfilter: convert the proto argument from u8 to u16Li RongQing

2019-02-13netfilter: reject: skip csum verification for protocols that don't support itAlin Nastac
Some protocols have other means to verify the payload integrity (AH, ESP, SCTP) while others are incompatible with nf_ip(6)_checksum implementation because checksum is either optional or might be partial (UDPLITE, DCCP, GRE). Because nf_ip(6)_checksum was used to validate the packets, ip(6)tables REJECT rules were not capable to generate ICMP(v6) errors for the protocols mentioned above. This commit also fixes the incorrect pseudo-header protocol used for IPv4 packets that carry other transport protocols than TCP or UDP (pseudo-header used protocol 0 iso the proper value). 2019-01-28netfilter: ebtables: compat: un-break 32bit setsockopt when no rules are presentFlorian Westphal
Unlike ip(6)tables ebtables only counts user-defined chains. The effect is that a 32bit ebtables binary on a 64bit kernel can do 'ebtables -N FOO' only after adding at least one rule, else the request fails with -EINVAL. This is a similar fix as done in 3f1e53abff84 ("netfilter: ebtables: don't attempt to allocate 0-sized compat array"). 2019-01-11netfilter: ebtables: account ebt_table_info to kmemcgShakeel Butt
The [ip,ip6,arp]_tables use x_tables_info internally and the underlying memory is already accounted to kmemcg. Do the same for ebtables. The syzbot, by using setsockopt(EBT_SO_SET_ENTRIES), was able to OOM the whole system from a restricted memcg, a potential DoS. By accounting the ebt_table_info, the memory used for ebt_table_info can be contained within the memcg of the allocating process. However the lifetime of ebt_table_info is independent of the allocating process and is tied to the network namespace. So, the oom-killer will not be able to relieve the memory pressure due to ebt_table_info memory. The memory for ebt_table_info is allocated through vmalloc. Currently vmalloc does not handle the oom-killed allocating process correctly and one large allocation can bypass memcg limit enforcement. So, with this patch, at least the small allocations will be contained. For large allocations, we need to fix vmalloc. 2018-08-03netfilter: bridge: Expose nf_tables bridge hook priorities through uapiMáté Eckl
Netfilter exposes standard hook priorities in case of ipv4, ipv6 and arp but not in case of bridge. This patch exposes the hook priority values of the bridge family (which are different from the formerly mentioned) via uapi so that they can be used by user-space applications just like the others. The vmalloc() function has no 2-factor argument form, so multiplication factors need to be wrapped in array_size(). This patch replaces cases of: vmalloc(a * b) with: vmalloc(array_size(a, b)) as well as handling cases of: vmalloc(a * b * c) with: vmalloc(array3_size(a, b, c)) This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like: vmalloc(4 * 1024) though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion. Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were dropped, since they're redundant. The thirteen patches can mostly be broken down into one of four categories: general bug fixes, accessor functions for audit state stored in the task_struct, negative filter matches on executable names, and extending the (relatively) new seccomp logging knobs to the audit subsystem. The main driver for the accessor functions from Richard are the changes we're working on to associate audit events with containers, but I think they have some standalone value too so I figured it would be good to get them in now. The seccomp/audit patches from Tyler apply the seccomp logging improvements from a few releases ago to audit's seccomp logging; starting with this patchset the changes in /proc/sys/kernel/seccomp/actions_logged should apply to both the standard kernel logging and audit. the ebtables evaluation loop expects targets to return positive values (jumps), or negative values (absolute verdicts). This is completely different from what xtables does. In xtables, targets are expected to return the standard netfilter verdicts, i.e. NF_DROP, NF_ACCEPT, etc. ebtables will consider these as jumps. Therefore reject any target found due to unspec fallback. v2: also reject watchers. ebtables ignores their return value, so a target that assumes skb ownership (and returns NF_STOLEN) causes use-after-free. The only watchers in the 'ebtables' front-end are log and nflog; both have AF_BRIDGE specific wrappers on kernel side. S390 bpf_jit.S is removed in net-next and had changes in 'net', since that code isn't used any more take the removal. TLS data structures split the TX and RX components in 'net-next', put the new struct members from the bug fix in 'net' into the RX part. The 'net-next' tree had some reworking of how the ERSPAN code works in the GRE tunneling code, overlapping with a one-line headroom calculation fix in 'net'. 2018-03-30netfilter: ebtables: Add support for specifying match revisionBernie Harris
Currently ebtables assumes that the revision number of all match modules is 0, which is an issue when trying to use existing xtables matches with ebtables. The solution is to modify ebtables to allow extensions to specify a revision number, similar to iptables. This gets passed down to the kernel, which is then able to find the match module correctly. To main binary backwards compatibility, the size of the ebt_entry structures is not changed, only the size of the name field is decreased by 1 byte to make room for the revision field. Fun set of conflict resolutions here... For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel adds. Trivially resolved. In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in 'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed. In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the 'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied over here. The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code. The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial, the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and here are their notes: ==================== Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch and the for-next branch. ebt_among is special, it has a dynamic match size and is exempt from the central size checks. commit c4585a2823edf ("bridge: ebt_among: add missing match size checks") added validation for pool size, but missed fact that the macros ebt_among_wh_src/dst can already return out-of-bound result because they do not check value of wh_src/dst_ofs (an offset) vs. the size of the match that userspace gave to us. v2: check that offset has correct alignment. Paolo Abeni points out that we should also check that src/dst wormhash arrays do not overlap, and src + length lines up with start of dst (or vice versa). v3: compact wormhash_sizes_valid() part NB: Fixes tag is intentionally wrong, this bug exists from day one when match was added for 2.6 kernel. These pernet_operations use nf_log_set() and nf_log_unset() in their methods: nf_log_bridge_net_ops nf_log_arp_net_ops nf_log_ipv4_net_ops nf_log_ipv6_net_ops nf_log_netdev_net_ops Nobody can send such a packet to a net before it's became registered, nobody can send a packet after all netdevices are unregistered. These pernet_operations use ebt_register_table() and ebt_unregister_table() to act on the tables, which are used as argument in ebt_do_table(), called from ebtables hooks. Since there are no net-related bridge packets in-flight, when the init and exit methods are called, these pernet_operations are safe to be executed in parallel with any other. We need to make sure the offsets are not out of range of the total size. Also check that they are in ascending order. The WARN_ON triggered by syzkaller (it sets panic_on_warn) is changed to also bail out, no point in continuing parsing. Briefly tested with simple ruleset of -A INPUT --limit 1/s' --log plus jump to custom chains using 32bit ebtables binary. ebt_among is special, it has a dynamic match size and is exempt from the central size checks. Therefore it must check that the size of the match structure provided from userspace is sane by making sure em->match_size is at least the minimum size of the expected structure.
