2021-03-25ipv6: fix clang Wformat warningArnd Bergmann
When building with 'make W=1', clang warns about a mismatched format string: net/ipv6/ah6.c:710:4: error: format specifies type 'unsigned short' but the argument has type 'int' [-Werror,-Wformat] aalg_desc->uinfo.auth.icv_fullbits/8); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ include/linux/printk.h:375:34: note: expanded from macro 'pr_info' printk(KERN_INFO pr_fmt(fmt), ##__VA_ARGS__) ~~~ ^~~~~~~~~~~ net/ipv6/esp6.c:1153:5: error: format specifies type 'unsigned short' but the argument has type 'int' [-Werror,-Wformat] aalg_desc->uinfo.auth.icv_fullbits / 8); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ include/linux/printk.h:375:34: note: expanded from macro 'pr_info' printk(KERN_INFO pr_fmt(fmt), ##__VA_ARGS__) ~~~ ^~~~~~~~~~~ Here, the result of dividing a 16-bit number by a 32-bit number produces a 32-bit result, which is printed as a 16-bit integer. 2021-03-03xfrm: Use actual socket sk instead of skb socket for xfrm_output_resumeEvan Nimmo
A situation can occur where the interface bound to the sk is different to the interface bound to the sk attached to the skb. The interface bound to the sk is the correct one however this information is lost inside xfrm_output2 and instead the sk on the skb is used in xfrm_output_resume instead. This assumes that the sk bound interface and the bound interface attached to the sk within the skb are the same which can lead to lookup failures inside ip_route_me_harder resulting in the packet being dropped. We have an l2tp v3 tunnel with ipsec protection. The tunnel is in the global VRF however we have an encapsulated dot1q tunnel interface that is within a different VRF. We also have a mangle rule that marks the packets causing them to be processed inside ip_route_me_harder. Prior to commit 31c70d5956fc ("l2tp: keep original skb ownership") this worked fine as the sk attached to the skb was changed from the dot1q encapsulated interface to the sk for the tunnel which meant the interface bound to the sk and the interface bound to the skb were identical. Commit 46d6c5ae953c ("netfilter: use actual socket sk rather than skb sk when routing harder") fixed some of these issues however a similar problem existed in the xfrm code. 2020-02-28ipv6: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array memberGustavo A. R. Silva
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by this change: "Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1] This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. 2019-07-11ipv6: Use ipv6_authlen for lenyangxingwu

2019-06-06xfrm: remove type and offload_type map from xfrm_state_afinfoFlorian Westphal
Only a handful of xfrm_types exist, no need to have 512 pointers for them. Reduces size of afinfo struct from 4k to 120 bytes on 64bit platforms. Also, the unregister function doesn't need to return an error, no single caller does anything useful with it. Just place a WARN_ON() where needed instead. 2017-01-16IPsec: do not ignore crypto err in ah6 inputGilad Ben-Yossef
ah6 input processing uses the asynchronous hash crypto API which supplies an error code as part of the operation completion but the error code was being ignored. Treat a crypto API error indication as a verification failure. While a crypto API reported error would almost certainly result in a memcpy of the digest failing anyway and thus the security risk seems minor, performing a memory compare on what might be uninitialized memory is wrong. 2016-11-04net: inet: Support UID-based routing in IP protocols.Lorenzo Colitti
- Use the UID in routing lookups made by protocol connect() and sendmsg() functions. - Make sure that routing lookups triggered by incoming packets (e.g., Path MTU discovery) take the UID of the socket into account. - For packets not associated with a userspace socket, (e.g., ping replies) use UID 0 inside the user namespace corresponding to the network namespace the socket belongs to. This allows all namespaces to apply routing and iptables rules to kernel-originated traffic in that namespaces by matching UID 0. This is better than using the UID of the kernel socket that is sending the traffic, because the UID of kernel sockets created at namespace creation time (e.g., the per-processor ICMP and TCP sockets) is the UID of the user that created the socket, which might not be mapped in the namespace. 2015-03-31ipv6: coding style: comparison for equality with NULLIan Morris
The ipv6 code uses a mixture of coding styles. In some instances check for NULL pointer is done as x == NULL and sometimes as !x. !x is preferred according to checkpatch and this patch makes the code consistent by adopting the latter form. 2014-11-11net: Convert LIMIT_NETDEBUG to net_dbg_ratelimitedJoe Perches
Use the more common dynamic_debug capable net_dbg_ratelimited and remove the LIMIT_NETDEBUG macro. All messages are still ratelimited. Some KERN_<LEVEL> uses are changed to KERN_DEBUG. This may have some negative impact on messages that were emitted at KERN_INFO that are not not enabled at all unless DEBUG is defined or dynamic_debug is enabled. Even so, these messages are now _not_ emitted by default. This also eliminates the use of the net_msg_warn sysctl "/proc/sys/net/core/warnings". For backward compatibility, the sysctl is not removed, but it has no function. The extern declaration of net_msg_warn is removed from sock.h and made static in net/core/sysctl_net_core.c Miscellanea: o Update the sysctl documentation o Remove the embedded uses of pr_fmt o Coalesce format fragments o Realign arguments Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-09-18ipsec: Remove obsolete MAX_AH_AUTH_LENHerbert Xu
While tracking down the MAX_AH_AUTH_LEN crash in an old kernel I thought that this limit was rather arbitrary and we should just get rid of it. In fact it seems that we've already done all the work needed to remove it apart from actually removing it. This limit was there in order to limit stack usage. Since we've already switched over to allocating scratch space using kmalloc, there is no longer any need to limit the authentication length. This patch kills all references to it, including the BUG_ONs that led me here. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: Steffen Klassert <steffen.klassert@secunet.com>

2013-09-16ipsec: Don't update the pmtu on ICMPV6_DEST_UNREACHSteffen Klassert
Currently we update the pmtu in the IPsec protocol error handlers if icmpv6 message type is either ICMPV6_DEST_UNREACH or ICMPV6_PKT_TOOBIG. Updating the pmtu on ICMPV6_DEST_UNREACH is wrong in any case, it causes strangely fragmented packets. 2013-09-05ipv6:introduce function to find route for redirectDuan Jiong
RFC 4861 says that the IP source address of the Redirect is the same as the current first-hop router for the specified ICMP Destination Address, so the gateway should be taken into consideration when we find the route for redirect. There was once a check in commit a6279458c534d01ccc39498aba61c93083ee0372 ("NDISC: Search over all possible rules on receipt of redirect.") and the check went away in commit b94f1c0904da9b8bf031667afc48080ba7c3e8c9 ("ipv6: Use icmpv6_notify() to propagate redirect, instead of rt6_redirect()"). The bug is only "exploitable" on layer-2 because the source address of the redirect is checked to be a valid link-local address but it makes spoofing a lot easier in the same L2 domain nonetheless. One tricky issue on the ipv6 side vs. ipv4 is that the ICMP callouts to handle the error pass the 32-bit info cookie in network byte order whereas ipv4 passes it around in host byte order. Like the ipv4 side, we have two helper functions. One for when we have a socket context and one for when we do not. ip6ip6 tunnels are not handled here, because they handle PMTU events by essentially relaying another ICMP packet-too-big message back to the original sender. This patch allows us to get rid of rt6_do_pmtu_disc(). It handles all kinds of situations that simply cannot happen when we do the PMTU update directly using a fully resolved route. In fact, the "plen == 128" check in ip6_rt_update_pmtu() can very likely be removed or changed into a BUG_ON() check. We should never have a prefixed ipv6 route when we get there. Another piece of strange history here is that TCP and DCCP, unlike in ipv4, never invoke the update_pmtu() method from their ICMP error handlers. This is incredibly astonishing since this is the context where we have the most accurate context in which to make a PMTU update, namely we have a fully connected socket and associated cached socket route. 2012-05-16net: ipv6: Standardize prefixes for message loggingJoe Perches
Add #define pr_fmt(fmt) as appropriate. Add "IPv6: " to appropriate files. Convert printk(KERN_<LEVEL> to pr_<level> (but not KERN_DEBUG). Standardize on "%s: " not "%s(): " when emitting __func__. Use "%s: ", __func__ instead of embedding function name. Coalesce formats, align arguments. ADDRCONF output is now prefixed with "IPv6: " Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2012-05-15net: Convert net_ratelimit uses to net_<level>_ratelimitedJoe Perches
Standardize the net core ratelimited logging functions. Coalesce formats, align arguments. Change a printk then vprintk sequence to use printf extension %pV. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
