2023-03-20ALSA: mips/sgio2audio: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. platform_get_resource(pdev, IORESOURCE_IRQ, ..) relies on static allocation of IRQ resources in DT core code, this causes an issue when using hierarchical interrupt domains using "interrupts" property in the node as this bypassed the hierarchical setup and messed up the irq chaining. In preparation for removal of static setup of IRQ resource from DT core code use platform_get_irq(). The DMA API generally relies on a struct device to work properly, and only barely works without one for legacy reasons. Pass the easily available struct device from the platform_device to remedy this. Also use GFP_KERNEL instead of GFP_USER as the gfp_t for the memory allocation, as we should treat this allocation as a normal kernel one. Now that no driver any longer depends on the CONFIG_SOC_AU1??? symbols, it's time to get rid of them: Move some of the platform devices to the boards which can use them, Rename a few (unused) constants in the header, Replace them with MIPS_ALCHEMY in the various Kconfig files. Finally delete them altogether from the Alchemy Kconfig file.
