2021-06-09ALSA: vx222: Fix assignment in if conditionTakashi Iwai
PCI VX222 driver code contains lots of assignments in if condition, which is a bad coding style that may confuse readers and occasionally lead to bugs. This patch is merely for coding-style fixes, no functional changes. Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210608140540.17885-52-tiwai@suse.de Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>

Apply const prefix to every possible place: the static tables for DSP commands, the string tables, and register/offset tables. Just for minor optimization and no functional changes. Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20200105144823.29547-8-tiwai@suse.de Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2020-01-03ALSA: vx: Constify snd_vx_hardware and snd_vx_ops definitionsTakashi Iwai
Both snd_vx_hardware and snd_vx_ops are only referred without modification, hence they can be constified gracefully for further optimizations. There should be no functional changes by this patch. 2018-07-26ALSA: vx222: Fix invalid endian conversionsTakashi Iwai
The endian conversions used in vx2_dma_read() and vx2_dma_write() are superfluous and even wrong on big-endian machines, as inl() and outl() already do conversions. Kill them. Spotted by sparse, a warning like: sound/pci/vx222/vx222_ops.c:278:30: warning: incorrect type in argument 1 (different base types) Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2017-05-15ALSA: vx222: Use container_of()Takashi Iwai
The vx222 driver is using the explicit cast from the parent class pointer, but it'll be broken when the structure field randomization is applied. Use container_of() in a modern manner, instead. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2017-02-21ALSA: pci: constify snd_kcontrol_new structuresBhumika Goyal
Declare snd_kcontrol_new structures as const as they are only passed as an argument to the function snd_ctl_new1. This argument is of type const, so snd_kcontrol_new structures having the same property can be made const too. Done using Coccinelle: @r1 disable optional_qualifier @ identifier i; position p; @@ static struct snd_kcontrol_new i@p = {...}; @ok1@ identifier r1.i; position p; expression e1; @@ snd_ctl_new1(&i@p,e1) @bad@ position p!={r1.p,ok1.p}; identifier r1.i; @@ i@p @depends on !bad disable optional_qualifier@ identifier r1.i; @@ +const struct snd_kcontrol_new i; Signed-off-by: Bhumika Goyal <bhumirks@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de>
2017-01-04ALSA: vx: Fix possible transfer overflowTakashi Iwai
The pseudo DMA transfer codes in VX222 and VX-pocket driver have a slight bug where they check the buffer boundary wrongly, and may overflow. Also, the zero sample count might be handled badly for the playback (although it shouldn't happen in theory). This patch addresses these issues. 2008-01-31[ALSA] Remove sound/driver.hTakashi Iwai
This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it. With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in future. 2005-07-27[PATCH] clean up inline static vs static inlineJesper Juhl
`gcc -W' likes to complain if the static keyword is not at the beginning of the declaration. This patch fixes all remaining occurrences of "inline static" up with "static inline" in the entire kernel tree (140 occurrences in 47 files). While making this change I came across a few lines with trailing whitespace that I also fixed up, I have also added or removed a blank line or two here and there, but there are no functional changes in the patch. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
