2020-08-21ASoC: qcom: Set card->owner to avoid warningsStephan Gerhold
On Linux 5.9-rc1 I get the following warning with apq8016-sbc: WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 69 at sound/core/init.c:207 snd_card_new+0x36c/0x3b0 [snd] CPU: 2 PID: 69 Comm: kworker/2:1 Not tainted 5.9.0-rc1 #1 Workqueue: events deferred_probe_work_func pc : snd_card_new+0x36c/0x3b0 [snd] lr : snd_card_new+0xf4/0x3b0 [snd] Call trace: snd_card_new+0x36c/0x3b0 [snd] snd_soc_bind_card+0x340/0x9a0 [snd_soc_core] snd_soc_register_card+0xf4/0x110 [snd_soc_core] devm_snd_soc_register_card+0x44/0xa0 [snd_soc_core] apq8016_sbc_platform_probe+0x11c/0x140 [snd_soc_apq8016_sbc] This warning was introduced in commit 81033c6b584b ("ALSA: core: Warn on empty module"). It looks like we are supposed to set card->owner to THIS_MODULE. Fix this for all the qcom ASoC drivers. 2019-06-28ASoC: qcom: storm: consider CPU-Platform possibilityKuninori Morimoto
commit 3caf11fa88a9 ("ASoC: qcom: storm: don't select unnecessary Platform") Current ALSA SoC avoid to add duplicate component to rtd, and this driver was selecting CPU component as Platform component. Thus, above patch removed Platform settings from this driver, because it assumed these are same component. But, some CPU driver is using generic DMAEngine, in such case, both CPU component and Platform component will have same of_node/name. In other words, there are some components which are different but have same of_node/name. In such case, Card driver definitely need to select Platform even though it is same as CPU. It is depends on CPU driver, but is difficult to know it from Card driver. This patch reverts above patch. 2019-06-19ASoC: qcom: storm: don't select unnecessary PlatformKuninori Morimoto
ALSA SoC is now supporting "no Platform". Sound card doesn't need to select "CPU component" as "Platform" anymore if it doesn't need special Platform. This patch removes such settings. Signed-off-by: Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>
2019-06-06ASoC: qcom: storm: use modern dai_link styleKuninori Morimoto
ASoC is now supporting modern style dai_link (= snd_soc_dai_link_component) for CPU/Codec/Platform. This patch switches to use it. Signed-off-by: Kuninori Morimoto <kuninori.morimoto.gx@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

2017-08-21ASoC: qcom: Remove unnecessary function callDonglin Peng
First of all,the address of pdev->dev is assigned to card->dev,then the function platform_set_drvdata copies the value the variable card to pdev->dev.driver_data, but when calling snd_soc_register_card,the function dev_set_drvdata(card->dev, card) will also do the same copy operation,so i think that the former copy operation can be removed. The combination of dev_err() and __func__ make most of these log prints over 100 chars long. Remove the usage of __func__ to clean the kernel log and as the usage is not necessary to identify the individual log prints. 2016-10-24ASoC: qcom: storm: constify snd_soc_ops structuresJulia Lawall
Check for snd_soc_ops structures that are only stored in the ops field of a snd_soc_dai_link structure. This field is declared const, so snd_soc_ops structures that have this property can be declared as const also. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @r disable optional_qualifier@ identifier i; position p; @@ static struct snd_soc_ops i@p = { ... }; @ok1@ identifier r.i; struct snd_soc_dai_link e; position p; @@ e.ops = &i@p; @ok2@ identifier r.i, e; position p; @@ struct snd_soc_dai_link e[] = { ..., { .ops = &i@p, }, ..., }; @bad@ position p != {r.p,ok1.p,ok2.p}; identifier r.i; struct snd_soc_ops e; @@ e@i@p @depends on !bad disable optional_qualifier@ identifier r.i; @@ static +const struct snd_soc_ops i = { ... }; // </smpl> The effect on the layout of the .o file is shown by the following output of the size command, first before then after the transformation: text data bss dec hex filename 1420 512 0 1932 78c sound/soc/qcom/storm.o 1484 456 0 1940 794 sound/soc/qcom/storm.o Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

2015-06-09ASoC: qcom: storm: allocate snd_soc_card struct dynamically.Srinivas Kandagatla
This patch moves static allocation of snd_soc_card to dynamic allocation, the reason to do this is to avoid holding up any dangling pointers in this static structures. And I see no use for having this struct as static given that the card->name is also populated dynamically from dt.
