2020-03-11perf scripting perl: Add common_callchain to fix argument orderMichael Petlan
Since common_callchain has been added to the argument array, we need to reflect it in perl-based scripts, because otherwise the following args would be shifted and thus incorrect. E.g. rw-by-pid and calculation of read and written bytes: Before: read counts by pid: pid comm # reads bytes_requested bytes_read ------ -------------------- ----------- ---------- ---------- 19301 dd 4 424510450039736 0 After: read counts by pid: pid comm # reads bytes_requested bytes_read ------ -------------------- ----------- ---------- ---------- 19301 dd 4 9536 4341 Committer testing: To see before after first do: # perf script record rw-by-pid ^C Now you'll have a perf.data file to report on, then do before and after using: # perf script report rw-by-pid Anbd notice the bytes_request/bytes_read, as above. 2014-06-25perf scripts: Fallback to syscalls:* when raw_syscalls:* is not availableDaniel Bristot de Oliveira
Older kernels (e.g., RHEL6) do system call tracing via the syscalls:sys_{enter,exit} tracepoints rather than using raw_syscalls:*. Update perf python and perl scripts to fallback to syscalls:* when raw_syscalls:* isn't available. 2010-05-10perf/trace/scripting: failed-syscalls script cleanupTom Zanussi
A couple small fixes for the failed syscalls script: - The script description says it can be restricted to a specific comm, make it so. - silence the match output in the shell script Cc: Frédéric Weisbecker <fweisbec@gmail.com> Cc: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> LKML-Reference: <1273466820-9330-2-git-send-email-tzanussi@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Tom Zanussi <tzanussi@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@redhat.com>
2010-02-25perf/scripts: Add syscall tracing scriptsTom Zanussi
Adds a set of scripts that aggregate system call totals and system call errors. Most are Python scripts that also test basic functionality of the new Python engine, but there's also one Perl script added for comparison and for reference in some new Documentation contained in a later patch.
