perf_pmus__has_hybrid was used to detect when there was >1 core PMU,
this can be achieved with perf_pmus__num_core_pmus that doesn't depend
upon is_pmu_hybrid and PMU name comparisons. When modifying the
function calls take the opportunity to improve comments,
enable/simplify tests that were previously failing for hybrid but now
pass and to simplify generic code.

Separate and hide the pmus list in pmus.[ch]. Move pmus functionality
out of pmu.[ch] into pmus.[ch] renaming pmus functions which were
prefixed perf_pmu__ to perf_pmus__.

Division by zero causes expression parsing to fail and no metric to be
generated. This can mean for short running benchmarks metrics are not

This makes the logic a bit clear by avoiding the !strcmp() pattern and
also a way to intercept the pointer if we need to do extra validation on
it or to do lazy setting of evsel->name via evsel__name(evsel).

Bugs with double aggregation have been introduced because of
aggregation of counters and again with saved_value. Remove the generic
metric use-case. Update parse-metric and pmu-events tests to update
aggregate rather than saved_value counts.

runtime_stat is only shared for the sake of tests that don't care
about its value. Move the definition into stat-shadow.c and have the

Thresholds may need additional events, this can impact things like
sharing groups of events to avoid multiplexing. Add a flag to make the
threshold calculations optional. The threshold will still be computed
if no additional events are necessary.

Add a metrics table that is just a cast from pmu_events_table. This
changes the APIs so that event and metric usage of the underlying
table is different. For the no jevents case the tables are already
separate, later changes will separate the tables for the jevents case.

Separate the event and metric table when building without jevents. Add
find_core_metrics_table and perf_pmu__find_metrics_table while
renaming existing utilities to be event specific, so that users can
find the right table for their need.

The perf_stat_config.aggr_map should have a correct size of the
aggregation map. Use it to allocate aggr_counts.
Also AGGR_NONE with per-core events can be tricky because it doesn't
aggreate basically but it needs to do so for per-core events only.
So only per-core evsels will have stats->aggr data.
Note that other caller of evlist__alloc_stat() might not have
stat_config or aggr_map.

Preparation for hiding pmu_events_map as an implementation detail. While
the map is passed, the table of events is all that is normally wanted.
While modifying the function's types, rename pmu_events_map__find to
pmu_events_table__find to match later encapsulation. Similarly rename
pmu_add_cpu_aliases_map to pmu_add_cpu_aliases_table.

and a version variable that is never read. Remove these from the API as

Otherwise load counting is an average. Without this change
duration_time in test_memory_bandwidth will alter its value if an
earlier test contains duration_time.

The pmu_events_map is generated at compile time and used for lookup. For
testing purposes we need to swap the map being used.
Having the pmu_events_map be non-const is misleading as it may be an out
argument.
Make it const and update uses so they work on const too.

Event duration_time in a metric expression requires special handling.
Improve test coverage by including a metric whose expression includes
duration_time. The actual metric is a copied from the L1D_Cache_Fill_BW
metric on my broadwell machine.

This test case was added with
commit 218ca91df477 ("perf tests: Add parse metric test for frontend metric").
When I compile with make DEBUG=y it works fine and I do not get a core dump.
It turned out that the above listed function call chain worked on a struct
pmu_event array which requires a trailing element with zeroes which was
missing. The marco map_for_each_event() loops over that array tests for members
metric_expr/metric_name/metric_group being non-NULL. Adding this element fixes
the issue.

I'm also adding the missing "Fixes" tag and setting just .name to NULL,
as doing it that way is more compact (the compiler will zero out
everything else) and the table iterators look for .name being NULL as
the sentinel marking the end of the table.

So far compute_single function relies on the fact, that there's only
single metric defined within evlist in all tests. In following patch we
will add test for metric group, so we need to be able to compute metric
by given name.
Adding the name argument to compute_single and iterating evlist and
evsel's expression to find the given metric.

Keeping the stack of nested metrics via 'struct expr_id' objects
and checking if we are in recursion via already processed metric.
The stack is implemented as static array within the struct egroup
with 100 entries, which should be enough nesting depth for any
metric we have or plan to have at the moment.
Adding test that simulates the recursion and checks we can
detect it.
