Add test cases to verify the handling of unsupported input values for the
PMU event filter. The tests cover unsupported "action" values, unsupported
"flags" values, and unsupported "nevents" values. All these cases should
return an error, as they are currently not supported by the filter.
Furthermore, the tests also cover the case where setting non-existent
fixed counters in the fixed bitmap does not fail.

Add custom "__kvm_pmu_event_filter" structure to improve pmu event
filter settings. Simplifies event filter setup by organizing event
filter parameters in a cleaner, more organized way.
Alternatively, selftests could use a struct overlay ala vcpu_set_msr()
to avoid dynamically allocating the array:

KVM selftests, and an AMX/XCR0 bugfix, for 6.4:
- Don't advertise XTILE_CFG in KVM_GET_SUPPORTED_CPUID if XTILE_DATA is
not being reported due to userspace not opting in via prctl()
- Overhaul the AMX selftests to improve coverage and cleanup the test
- Misc cleanups

Add testing for the event "Instructions retired" (0xc0) in the PMU
event filter on both Intel and AMD to ensure that the event doesn't
count when it is disallowed. Unlike most of the other events, the
event "Instructions retired" will be incremented by KVM when an
instruction is emulated. Test that this case is being properly handled
and that KVM doesn't increment the counter when that event is
disallowed.

Use a single struct to track all PMC event counts in the PMU filter test,
and copy the full struct to/from the guest when running and measuring each
guest workload. Using a common struct avoids naming conflicts, e.g. the
loads/stores testcase has claimed "perf_counter", and eliminates the
unnecessary truncation of the counter values when they are propagated from
the guest MSRs to the host structs.
Zero the struct before running the guest workload to ensure that the test
doesn't get a false pass due to consuming data from a previous run.

Use '0' to signal success and '-errno' to signal failure in the PMU event
filter test so that the values are slightly less magical/arbitrary. Using
'0' in the error paths is especially confusing as understanding it's an
error value requires following the breadcrumbs to the host code that
ultimately consumes the value.
Arguably there should also be a #define for "success", but 0/-errno is a
common enough pattern that defining another macro on top would likely do
more harm than good.

Provide the actual vs. expected count in the PMU event filter test's
asserts instead of relying on pr_info() to provide the context, e.g. so
that all information needed to triage a failure is readily available even
if the environment in which the test is run captures only the assert
itself.

Running x86_64/pmu_event_filter_test or x86_64/vmx_pmu_caps_test
with enable_pmu globally disabled will report the following into:
1..0 # SKIP - Requirement not met: use_intel_pmu() || use_amd_pmu()
or
1..0 # SKIP - Requirement not met: kvm_cpu_has(X86_FEATURE_PDCM)
this can be confusing, so add a check on kvm.enable_pmu.

- Cache the CPU vendor (AMD vs. Intel) and use the info to emit the correct
hypercall instruction instead of relying on KVM to patch in VMMCALL

Cache the host CPU vendor for userspace and share it with guest code.
All the current callers of this_cpu* actually care about host cpu so
they are updated to check host_cpu_is*.

Add testing to show that a pmu event can be filtered with a generalized
match on it's unit mask.
These tests set up test cases to demonstrate various ways of filtering
a pmu event that has multiple unit mask values. It does this by
setting up the filter in KVM with the masked events provided, then
enabling three pmu counters in the guest. The test then verifies that
the pmu counters agree with which counters should be counting and which
counters should be filtered for both a sparse filter list and a dense
filter list.

Test that masked events are not using invalid bits, and if they are,
ensure the pmu event filter is not accepted by KVM_SET_PMU_EVENT_FILTER.
The only valid bits that can be used for masked events are set when
using KVM_PMU_ENCODE_MASKED_ENTRY() with one exception: If any of the
high bits (35:32) of the event select are set when using Intel, the pmu
event filter will fail.
Also, because validation was not being done prior to the introduction
of masked events, only expect validation to fail when masked events
are used. E.g. in the first test a filter event with all its bits set
is accepted by KVM_SET_PMU_EVENT_FILTER when flags = 0.

PMU event filter test. Open code the retrieval of KVM's supported CPUID
entry 0x1.0 in anticipation of dropping kvm_get_supported_cpuid_entry().

Add an X86_PMU_FEATURE_* framework to simplify probing architectural
events on Intel PMUs, which require checking the length of a bit vector
and the _absence_ of a "feature" bit. Add helpers for both KVM and
"this CPU", and use the newfangled magic (along with X86_PROPERTY_*)
to clean up pmu_event_filter_test.

Consolidate common startup logic in one place by implementing a single
setup function with __attribute((constructor)) for all selftests within
kvm_util.c.
This allows moving logic like:
/* Tell stdout not to buffer its content */
setbuf(stdout, NULL);
to a single file for all selftests.
This will also allow any required setup at entry in future to be done in
common main function.

Use kvm_get_supported_cpuid_entry() instead of
kvm_get_supported_cpuid_index() when passing in '0' for the index, which
just so happens to be the case in all remaining users of
kvm_get_supported_cpuid_index() except kvm_get_supported_cpuid_entry().
Keep the helper as there may be users in the future, and it's not doing
any harm.

Tag the returned CPUID pointers from kvm_get_supported_cpuid(),
kvm_get_supported_hv_cpuid(), and vcpu_get_supported_hv_cpuid() "const"
to prevent reintroducing the broken pattern of modifying the static
"cpuid" variable used by kvm_get_supported_cpuid() to cache the results
of KVM_GET_SUPPORTED_CPUID.
Update downstream consumers as needed.

Add a static assert to the KVM/VM/vCPU ioctl() helpers to verify that the
size of the argument provided matches the expected size of the IOCTL.
Because ioctl() ultimately takes a "void *", it's all too easy to pass in
garbage and not detect the error until runtime. E.g. while working on a
CPUID rework, selftests happily compiled when vcpu_set_cpuid()
unintentionally passed the cpuid() function as the parameter to ioctl()
(a local "cpuid" parameter was removed, but its use was not replaced with
"vcpu->cpuid" as intended).
Tweak a variety of benign issues that aren't compatible with the sanity
check, e.g. passing a non-pointer for ioctls().
Note, static_assert() requires a string on older versions of GCC. Feed
it an empty string to make the compiler happy.

Add TEST_REQUIRE() and __TEST_REQUIRE() to replace the myriad open coded
instances of selftests exiting with KSFT_SKIP after printing an
informational message. In addition to reducing the amount of boilerplate
code in selftests, the UPPERCASE macro names make it easier to visually
identify a test's requirements.
Convert usage that erroneously uses something other than print_skip()
and/or "exits" with '0' or some other non-KSFT_SKIP value.
Intentionally drop a kvm_vm_free() in aarch64/debug-exceptions.c as part
of the conversion. All memory and file descriptors are freed on process
exit, so the explicit free is superfluous.

Handle all memslot0 size adjustments in __vm_create(). Currently, the
adjustments reside in __vm_create_with_vcpus(), which means tests that
call vm_create() or __vm_create() directly are left to their own devices.
Some tests just pass DEFAULT_GUEST_PHY_PAGES and don't bother with any
adjustments, while others mimic the per-vCPU calculations.
For vm_create(), and thus __vm_create(), take the number of vCPUs that
will be runnable to calculate that number of per-vCPU pages needed for
memslot0. To give readers a hint that neither vm_create() nor
__vm_create() create vCPUs, name the parameter @nr_runnable_vcpus instead
of @nr_vcpus. That also gives readers a hint as to why tests that create
larger numbers of vCPUs but never actually run those vCPUs can skip
straight to the vm_create_barebones() variant.

Add ____vm_create() to be the innermost helper, and turn vm_create() into
a wrapper the specifies VM_MODE_DEFAULT. Most of the vm_create() callers
just want the default mode, or more accurately, don't care about the mode.

Add a test to demonstrate that when the guest programs an event select
it is matched correctly in the pmu event filter and not inadvertently
filtered. This could happen on AMD if the high nybble[1] in the event
select gets truncated away only leaving the bottom byte[2] left for
matching.
This is a contrived example used for the convenience of demonstrating
this issue, however, this can be applied to event selects 0x28A (OC
Mode Switch) and 0x08A (L1 BTB Correction), where 0x08A could end up
being denied when the event select was only set up to deny 0x28A.
[1] bits 35:32 in the event select register and bits 11:8 in the event
select.
[2] bits 7:0 in the event select register and bits 7:0 in the event
select.

Add a helper function that creates a pmu event filter given an event
list. Currently, a pmu event filter can only be created with the same
hard coded event list. Add a way to create one given a different event
list.
Also, rename make_pmu_event_filter to alloc_pmu_event_filter to clarify
it's purpose given the introduction of create_pmu_event_filter.

Note that the virtual PMU doesn't work as expected on AMD Zen CPUs (an
intercepted rdmsr is counted as a retired branch instruction), but the
PMU event filter does work.
