From e231d54c1239ccf31aaee311bed0c4d1937cae2c Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Monam Agarwal Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2014 00:16:19 +0530 Subject: kernel: Use RCU_INIT_POINTER(x, NULL) in audit.c This patch replaces rcu_assign_pointer(x, NULL) with RCU_INIT_POINTER(x, NULL) The rcu_assign_pointer() ensures that the initialization of a structure is carried out before storing a pointer to that structure. And in the case of the NULL pointer, there is no structure to initialize. So, rcu_assign_pointer(p, NULL) can be safely converted to RCU_INIT_POINTER(p, NULL) Signed-off-by: Monam Agarwal Signed-off-by: Eric Paris --- kernel/audit.c | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) (limited to 'kernel/audit.c') diff --git a/kernel/audit.c b/kernel/audit.c index c0696dcfed11..ad77d1e80895 100644 --- a/kernel/audit.c +++ b/kernel/audit.c @@ -1092,7 +1092,7 @@ static void __net_exit audit_net_exit(struct net *net) audit_sock = NULL; } - rcu_assign_pointer(aunet->nlsk, NULL); + RCU_INIT_POINTER(aunet->nlsk, NULL); synchronize_net(); netlink_kernel_release(sock); } -- cgit
