From 5e8d780d745c1619aba81fe7166c5a4b5cad2b84 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Sam Ravnborg Date: Sat, 1 Jul 2006 09:58:02 +0200 Subject: kbuild: fix ia64 breakage after introducing make -rR MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit kbuild used $ยค(*F to get filename of target without extension. This was used in several places all over kbuild, but introducing make -rR broke his for all cases where we specified full path to target/prerequsite. It is assumed that make -rR disables old style suffix-rules which is why is suddenly failed. ia64 was impacted by this change because several div* routines in arch/ia64/lib are build using explicit paths and then kbuild failed. Thanks to David Mosberger-Tang for an explanation what was the root-cause and for testing on ia64. This patch also fixes two uses of $(*F) in arch/um Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg --- scripts/Makefile.host | 6 ++++-- 1 file changed, 4 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) (limited to 'scripts/Makefile.host') diff --git a/scripts/Makefile.host b/scripts/Makefile.host index 2b066d12af2c..18ecd4d5df7f 100644 --- a/scripts/Makefile.host +++ b/scripts/Makefile.host @@ -80,8 +80,10 @@ obj-dirs += $(host-objdirs) ##### # Handle options to gcc.
