MUSL doesn't support %L except for floating-point arguments; therefore,
%ll must be used instead with integer arguments.

This file does not include information on offlined memory chunks. With this
patch the memory hotplug information is read from "/sys/devices/system/memory"
and is added to the "/proc/iomem" info.
Also the MAX_MEMORY_RANGES count is increased to 1024 in order to support
systems with many memory holes.

This patch adds kdump support for s390 to the kexec tool and enables the
"--load-panic" option. When loading the kdump kernel and ramdisk we add the
address of the crashkernel memory to the normal load address.

This code was copy-pasted into every architecture and was basically
identical.
Besides producing a nice net reduction in code, this factors a
portability challenge into a single function that can be easily replaced
at build-time.

Removes the machine parameter to proc_iomem() which is no
longer of any use.

On ia64 XEN it is sometimes neccessary to use an alternate location for the
information that is usually provided by /proc/iomem. By having the path
returned by a function, which can be overriden on a per-architecture basis,
it is possible for ia64 XEN to make use of existing generic code. Hopefully
other achitectures can use this infastructure as the need arises.
If the machine parameter is zero, then iomem file relating to the currently
running kernel should be returned. If the machine parameter is non-zero
then iomem file, relating to the underlying hypervisor, should be returned.
In the simple case, these will be the same file.

Set KEXEC_ARCH_S390 in order to make sure that kexec works also in compat
mode on s390.

Extra Information from Eric Biederman
If you call sys_kexec_load in compat mode, you are required to pass
the architecture your kernel is actually running. The kexec kernel
code only supports one switching to one mode. So a 32bit user space
must be prepared to accept a 64bit handoff. The flag reports
that you can do that.

Check whether memory for crashkernel is reserved by calling arch dependent
functions. The patch also creates dummy functions in ppc, ia64 and s390
architectures, so that the build process will not break. The function
"is_crashkernel_mem_reserved" needs to be implemented on ppc, ia64 and
s390 architectures.

Hi Milton,
first of all thanks for looking at the patches.

Yes, you're right. The kernel image could be damaged. Fixed.

Fixed as well :)

I think you're talking about the function machine_verify_elf_rel().
Unlike the probe functions this one should return 0 on error,
shouldn't it?

The hard coded addresses are part of the kernel abi. Nothing needs to
be changed here. Skipping the first 64k of the kernel image is ok too,
since you usually would only find a loader routine there which would
load the rest of the kernel image into ram and then start it.
If you are really interested you might have a look at
arch/s390/kernel/head.S in the kernel sources :)
Also we do not plan to use the kdump feature. It doesn't make too
much sense for the s390 architecture since we have already other
mechanisms which allow to reliably dump complete memory and register
contents at any given state of the system.
The patch below should be better (still against 1.101). Guess I will
come up with an improved kernel patch too.
Thanks,
Heiko
