2025-05-13bus: fsl-mc: do not add a device-link for the UAPI used DPMCP deviceIoana Ciornei
The fsl-mc bus associated to the root DPRC in a DPAA2 system exports a device file for userspace access to the MC firmware. In case the DPRC's local MC portal (DPMCP) is currently in use, a new DPMCP device is allocated through the fsl_mc_portal_allocate() function. In this case, the call to fsl_mc_portal_allocate() will fail with -EINVAL when trying to add a device link between the root DPRC (consumer) and the newly allocated DPMCP device (supplier). This is because the DPMCP is a dependent of the DPRC device (the bus). Fix this by not adding a device link in case the DPMCP is allocated for the root DPRC's usage. 2025-03-21bus: fsl-mc: Remove deadcodeDr. David Alan Gilbert
fsl_mc_allocator_driver_exit() was added explicitly by commit 1e8ac83b6caf ("bus: fsl-mc: add fsl_mc_allocator cleanup function") but was never used. Remove it. fsl_mc_portal_reset() was added in 2015 by commit 197f4d6a4a00 ("staging: fsl-mc: fsl-mc object allocator driver") but was never used. Remove it. fsl_mc_portal_reset() was the only caller of dpmcp_reset(). Remove it. Replace the spinlock that serializes the MC commands with a raw spinlock. This is needed for the RT kernel because there are MC commands sent in interrupt context. 2019-08-16bus: fsl-mc: remove explicit device_link_delIoana Ciornei
Starting with commit 72175d4ea4c4 ("driver core: Make driver core own stateful device links") stateful device links are owned by the driver core and should not be explicitly removed on device unbind. Delete all device_link_del appearances from the fsl-mc bus. 2019-01-11bus: fsl-mc: automatically add a device_link on fsl_mc_[portal,object]_allocateIoana Ciornei
Allocatable devices can be acquired by drivers on the fsl-mc bus using the fsl_mc_portal_allocate or fsl_mc_object_allocate functions. Add a device link between the consumer device and the supplier device so that proper resource management is achieved. Also, adding a link between these devices ensures that a proper unbind order is respected (ie before the supplier device is unbound from its respective driver all consumer devices will be notified and unbound first).
